Quotes of interest from the text:

"But this is a morality issue: Prostitution is not a victimless crime."

--Yes, it is a morality issue and, thus, not a crime. The
notion that there is a "victim" is a ruse to justify the policing of natural human behavior by those who believe that we
should refrain from sex outside of marriage - although they themselves often are unable to live up to the high moral standards that they choose to impose on the rest of us.

"We can't control ourselves like we should. Even happily married men are looking for sex, and if you are, a prostitute is better than a decent woman," he says. "A decent woman is not going to have sex anytime soon, and she may end up causing trouble for your wife. A prostitute is simpler and cheaper."

--How true.

"They say, 'Hop in the back,' because they know a police officer can't get in a car, it's not safe."

--Good advice for hobbyists into the street adventure.

"What I'm doing is not effective, as far as changing people's
lives. We have more johns than we ever had, more girls than we ever had. "It is hopeless," she says.

--True, so stop wasting the taxpayer's resources on this issue.

The afternoon session begins when a group of four former prostitutes arrive to give their side of the story…all became addicted to heroin or cocaine as a way to cope, and the drugs then became their barrier to escape.

--A woman doesn't have to be a prostitute to become addicted to drugs. There will always be women who choose to use their looks to gain favors, money, etc. There will always be men of means who will offer attractive women gifts, drugs, and so on, in exchange for their affection. Some women may develop drug problems; some women may accumulate wealth; some will choose to marry the generous male suitor. After all, underneath the sentimentality, marriage is often an exchange of the man's
financial resources for the woman’s sexual attributes.

I always appreciate these articles where the subjects end up arguing against their own point. The facts they use to prove that there is a victim serve only to show that their self-victimization has nothing to do with the choices other people make to have sex, or not to have sex and whether or not they take payment in cash, or a mortgage.

I always say that the only difference between my relationship with my SO and an escort is that it involves a lot more money and a lot less sex.
