Dear Vanica: A reason why law enforcement and the courts are gravitating towards law enforcement side is if you advertise in that manner and if it isn't false then you are saying that you have a certain intent by virtue of the fact that you are making that statement. Thus the constabulary will apprehend you every time for intent. However if you made your advertisement somewhat more ambiguous then it would be harder to prove intent. However by virtue of the term GFE then they can say or infer the intent of the advertiser. Vanica you next move might say that I would be emotionally involved but don't say anything of a sensual and a libidinal nature unless you are in a state or a place to where it is legal to do so.
No, this in NOT another discussion about what GFE is or means.
Awhile ago I learned that when LE sees "GFE" it is accepted to mean sex, and therefore prostitution/sollicitation. So I never use the term and warn others not to do so as well.
If you are a lady advertising "GFE" it's bassically like saying "Sex in exchange for money" to LE and the courts. As well, guys if you call a girl and ask for "GFE" the same applies.
I do not think we need a new term, as eventually that will come to mean sex. I just people to be aware of the risks.
"GFE" has been adopted going back many years in strip club discussions, where it simply means the stripper will talk to you before doing a dance. (I know, it's pathetic.) Nothing about sex or even kissing. And the fact that the OP here found it necessary to limit the thread's scope shows that there is plenty of debate about it's meaning with regard to escorts.
That said, with P4P, obviously, what a court determines is nearly irrelevant, since cops have the real power to impose punishment.
GFE is the general feeling of how I feel when I am leaving... as if I've met a GF. What it takes to reach that point can vary widely.
Now I know that because of publicity, GFE has become associated with the hobby... in most jurisdictions, the LEO must have the other party (there are only 2 people in the room, if 1 is LEO, you're in trouble already) say or do something to indicate "sex for money." "How much does a BJ cost?" "Can I get a BJ for 100?"
In a few jurisdictions, ads can be used as evidence of solicitation for prostitution. Those who work in those jurisdictions, best be aware. It is necessary to link the ad to the person. Hunting down an advertizer is pretty impractical & requires more resoources than LE usually cares to exert. What it may do in those jurisdictions is avoid the undercover LEO having to get the complete statement from the stingee. But what they want IS the stingee to do is show up in response to the ad...
By the way, any value in a disclaimer "This is not an offer of prostitution... " evaporates & is superceded as soon as a face to face offer occurs.
There is no magic combination of words you can say or not say as long as the P4P business is illegal in most of puritan America.
I have never heard of such a thing. I know that doesn't mean it can't exist, but please let us know where this has happened. I find it very hard to believe any court will convict for such an ad. As for guys who ask about whether you provide GFE, that's a screening issue. Just terminate the call or don't reply to the e-mail. I assume you make it clear on your site that sex acts cannot be dicussed on the phone or on line.
There was a conversation here some time ago that certain clients chose to interpret GFE as BBFS... and were unhappy when they discovered it was not. Do you suppose that's what they were asking? A little knowledge is dangerous. See link below:
A provider on the Legal Corner board has told about convictions in Arizona where the presence of GFE and other acronyms in ads were accepted as proof that they were promoting prostitution. I don't know whether an entire case has ever hinged on nothing but the use of GFE.
It carries the same penalty as a first time prostitution offence. Of course if they bust you for prostitution they almost always get you for the "sexually oriented business without a licence" thing as well. I know of ladies that they just showed up at her door and issued the ticket, no sting needed just an ad and someone recognizing her. Screening can't stop that.
Basically it comes down to the fakes on the escort sites. When a guy is looking for a provider, he wants to be assured of a GFE type of evening. If we did not have so many fake ads on these sites like BP, we can be assured of the same type of servive from one provider to another. I sort of agree with you, the fakes or girls who only do massages can say what there limitations are in there ad and leave the ads for providers who offer "GFE" alone without any type of services offered. It would be nice to assume a full serivce evening without saying anything unless there were limitations/rules. It also would be a whole lot easier if they would just legalize this hobby and then the fakes and girls who rip us off would be the only ones who would have to worry about the LE.
The real issue is foe legal reasons no one can say what they offer before you're there. But that is what reviews are for so they don't have to. This is not, nor should it be a cookie cutter industry. Not everyone wants the same kind of session. I personally am not into full GFE. I do not kiss, but for others it is a must. I for one hope the ladies are never pressured into a cookie cutter list of services. Sessions are best when all parties are into what is offered.
I do agree that legalization would salve a lot of issues like not being able to list services, but that isn't going to happen soon.
