Opened up ter and it appears as a listing on the left side of the screen. Anyone else had this happen. If so how do I get back to the new screen?

I go to post a reply to a thread and have to type in a code caption in the box  to post like a lot of web blogs to prevent spam.  I guess no one else saw it or had to do it from the response i recieved.  it lasted for 3 0r 4 posts then went away.
