...so I can't really speak to his style of moderating, but I have dealt with him on a few issues.  He's a solid guy that speaks his mind.  I'm going to miss his contributions here.

As a mod, don't you unfairly remove posts claiming they are of a "trouble making nature?" when in fact, they are in response to posts that are volatile, insulting and just plain unacceptable?!  I initially thought it was gambler but he seems to have passed the buck on to you.  People come here and berade ladies; calling them whores and brain-less bitches and that's fine, but when someone brings to light the fact that whatever certain men (using the term lightly) want to call the ladies, they are PAYING to be with them!! Check your records.  There were 2-3 in one night.  I don't lie, twist the truth, or confront someone without being certain of the facts.  Regardless of whether it was 1 post or 100..you still allowed nasty and insulting posts to remain on the boards.  Why is that? As a "mod" you need to be accountable for your actions.

I sincerely doubt I am on any mod’s Christmas card list, but you seem off the deep end here.  I have been a mod on a number of non-TER boards about a number of different topics, and it is not an easy job.  Having been on here for a lot of years, Phil has been one of the best I have seen.  Do some posts stay on that I would have removed?  Sure, but any poster alive can find some they do not agree with for whatever reason.  By every visible sign Phil has done a very good job and seems to try and mod via posting his thoughts instead of swinging a hammer.

I have had more posts denied or removed than you claim, and whenever I have questioned one he has responded quickly, explained why, and did not inflame things with his answer.  I did not always like the result but he did his job professionally which is all one can reasonable ask of a mod.  I have never met him, do not know him, and do not always agree with his views so I am not jumping in here to stick up for a pal.  This is an unsolicited comment from someone who has seen moding from both sides.

Your rants come across as a personal bone to pick with him, not as what you say they are.

I always thought the Chicago mod Funtimes was one of the most fair moderators on TER boards. The other TER moderators would have done well to look to him as a model of what a fair, just moderator should be.

It's been explained by TER Admin ad nauseum so I don't know why some of you still don't understand.

Moderating duties are now being assumed by TER Admin on some boards, not by the cruise directors. The CDs will be responsible for facilitating discussion on the boards.

From what I have seen he does a very good job and sets a good example that sets the tone for the Chicago board. Swim does a good job too. Unfortunately, Gambler sets the tone for this board and look what has happened.

I can appreciate your efforts to show some form of reason but again, you don't know the specifics so best to stand back and be an observer, withold opinions and don't assume.  There is nothing personal about this. There is, however, an issue of unfairness and plain ol' BS.  Contrary to popular belief (I base this all the posts I've read over time, that as bad as they are, still remain on the boards) some of us ladies are not just "brain-less whores" or any of the other crude, tastless terms used.some of us are educated, intelligent, confident women who are not at all intimidated by little minds with big mouths.  
We do what we do but it certainly does not define who we are.  By ANY mod allowing these types of comments to be posted, stirs up many negative feelings and some of us are not going to hold back from expressing them.  You can call it whatever you want but it is what it is! Let me clarify: what this is,  a self repecting woman speaking up about unfair and inappropriate practices here.  I've asked LP (publicly) WHY these crude posts were allowed, while my responses to them were not..but I've yet to get a respectful response.  I'm totally justified in my feelings and how I've expressed them and the opinions of "johns" has no affect.

Yes, I agree. Swim is another mod that does a great job and sets a great example for other mods to follow. I also agree that some mods, like GaGambler, aren't quite as skilled or polished when it comes to moderating.

You clearly have no idea about what a Mod's job is or what constitutes a good Mod. Gambler & Phil are 2 of the best we've got these days. The  politically correct board Cop Mods are god awful, and should exit with Funtimes. I won't name names. Look at  the dead boards we have these days. I rest my case.

That's quite an interesting comment coming from someone who just posted a comment stating that you're reduced your time here because of all the trash talking, etc.  It is this trash talking, and the mods that allow it, that have led to my frustrations.  My comment to LP was to not only point this fact out, but also that it becomes a double whammy when posts that are simply a response to the hatred are blocked, yet the hatred remains. You, and others here have clearly missed my intended point..even when you have the same gripe!

Actually, as I mentioned several times here (pay attention) I am only here because a friend of mine made me aware of the fsct that reviews were being posted. I signed up for a 1 month VIP membership to read all the details about who make the reviews.  From there, I browsed the boards, and saw a whole lot of nasty people belittling ladies and each other, NOT cool.  This aint middle school folks..let's grow up and behave like intelligent, respectful adults.

Sometimes even a mod has had enough of the helpless.  I remember the rope comment ya maybe it was a little over the line, but mods are humans also.  It is not like this is a job and ter is the boss.  They let the mods heve free riens most of the time and most of the time it is ok.  I have spoken out many times against aliases and the misuse in my opinion.  Humor is one thing plain mean and negative is another.   GG has helped me in the past when a local mod went off the deep end so I see Him in a different light than you I guess.  
If ter is comming in as it seems to brighten the lights and let the sun shine in so that this is a happy place for all then alot of people are going to be forced out or have to change to the new ways.

if you call zero visability quite clear then that is what you have now.  The CD thing is taking way to long to get going to see what direction the board will go.  If the goal is to make it a kindere gentler board all they have to do is tell the mods and if the mods dont take the direction then replace them.  Instead we are going on 2 weeks of wait and see on the Fl and Ga boards with a explanation of no one did any thing wrong dut we pulled them anyway.   The general board seems in a tizzy also.  And yes to some of us who have been around for a while it does seem that the new kids are speaking out rather loudly without much to back up what they are saying and with out any real contributuions.

Actually, being a TER mod IS like a job (even if it is a volunteer one) and TER Admin and owners ARE like the bosses. The TER mods work for the TER Admin, owners, and members, not the other way around. It's a position that carries a lot of responsibility.

What's the hurry?

First, while I agree with you that this board can be crude and vulgar more often than I would like, that is what this place is.  It is no different than going into a redneck bar and then being shocked at twangy bad misic, rebel flags, and huge beer guts.  It is what it is, they apeal to a certain clientel, and they are not going to change for me.  When beer guts and bad music are not what I can tollerate that day (which for me is most days) I do not go there.  The owners and mods of this place have tried to define a level of the civility/juvenile ballance.  It is not where I would put it, but it is what it is.  It may not be where you wish to hang out--for me, I stop in when I am in a semi-brainless state and I am looking to kill time.

Second, why single out Phil?  He is one of the better mods on here.  On some TER boards the mods not only do not remove trash posts, it seems they instigate the trash talking and insults.

That One of those individuals is having a hey day forcing himself upon us! He knows he is disliked.. But Hes Thrilled to shove himself down our eyes! He doesnt admit to seeing anyone, does not review.. YET he is here spouting all this info as if he/it is wanted or desired..  He answers posts that are directed at ladies or agencys... LOL yet he is neither.. He is out of control and feels his wisdom is needed in every thread LOL LOL  What I personally am doing is rounding up my friends to put him on perrmanent ignore.. Without enough of us dumb asses that participate ter is nothing.  They  (ADMIN)allude to a survey requesting changes I was missed in that one.  I normally ask for changes right up front on the boards.
