After reading the new rules i concluded they are either behind naming the new miss TER (Summer miss ter) or they announce the next one with roughly 3 months delay.
Most girls hardly make videos for our own advertising for privacy reasons, little less a video for this new miss ter format. I also noticed a decrease in the # of providers who post on the photo board because of the new change. And for the record... how can one be miss congeniality without even showing the face? its confusing.
Would TER re consider going back to the old way miss ter was named? I enjoyed seeing a new girl every month on the front page and check out their artwork. I thought it encouraged the participation of providers more and it would bring out our artistic side.
Please TER make the video thing go away.

If a video is required, I would think that the expense and time involved to make one would be less than commensurate for most girls winning Ms TER. Let's face it, providing is still a regional business for the most part, and receiving national recognition is not going to translate into increased business for most girls, so why invest the time and expense to make a video, IMO.
Videos are the new photos so I'm told - and I do believe it
Women won't be just using them on here, they'll be going on their websites, ads etc
I do believe that they increase business as much as I am hearing because men have a much better idea of what they will be getting than they will from over photo shopped pictures. Women wouldn't be shelling out the bucks for a video if they weren't getting a handsome return on it....
I like idea of a video, something creative, artistic, sexy maybe.
But with my accent, slightly broken english and being shy, never would I speak in it. Something with a sexy music background.
I think it would help the guys deciding on if pictures are real or not as I think harder to fake and touch up video.

Of course the announcement will be 3 months behind. When Miss TER was a monthly thing the winner was announced in the middle of the following month. Now that it's quarterly, it is announced almost at the end of the quarter. Miss Spring was announced on May 9. Shouldn't she have a 3 month "reign?" I would xpect Miss Summer to be announced in mid August. You are a month early expecting an announcement now. Of course that would be IF there were any entrants. As GaG says there are none!
Your other point I agree with. I think most people from the beginning were against the video idea. Very few providers are willing to post a video. So there are very few possibilities of who can become Miss TER.

Miss TER was a simple, almost quaint recognition of the provider with the most likes, along with other factors such as board participation and good standing.
But it wasn’t long before some ladies set their alarms for 3:00 am to be the first photo post of the new day. Others shamelessly asked for likes in their ads. Many used their twitter feeds to solicit likes. Some even paid for likes. A few started threads on the GD board expressing desire to be Miss TER.
The results of all this campaigning were readily apparent. Photos would get 30+ likes within minutes of posting. The daily totals for some would triple the normal average. Obviously, TER saw what was happening and ultimately made changes to the contest including the video requirement.
Miss TER started as something innocent and harmless. But just like the Top 100, it was manipulated into a perversion. We have no one to blame but ourselves.

That alone should give you pause.
I've been saying that about the Top 100 for years, and you are totally right about the Miss TER thing going the same direction.
We are a competitive species. If you explicitly announce a competition, expect the competitors to act competitively.
If you announce a beauty contest and don't explicitly disallow the contestants from blowing the judges, eventually all the contestants will be blowing the judges.
If a contest allows all sorts of irrelevant acts to change the result, the contest is poorly designed. You can't fault the competitors for cutting through the Gordian Knots.
And all the reasons for that. Plus, it seems like it'd be a lot of work and expense!
As to your points about being able to "win" some kind of title from the photo board, seeing a new featured provider on the front page every month, and reduced participation on the photo board under the new format: there was SUPPOSED TO BE a monthly "miss photogenic" declared every month. At least that's what we were told. I may very well be mistaken, but I don't believe I've seen one since this announcement ages ago.
I see all your points and I agree, but I think a better question is,

Some of us have been around back when there was a moderator for every board. Mods kept people in check and many helped stimulate conversation. Many boards today are very lame.
To your question, contests are good as long as they are honest. If someone figures out a way to manipulate a contest, then the ground rules for the contest should be changed. Not sure a video was the correct "change" in this instance.

Just because a technology is available, it doesn't mean that it should be used by everyone for everything. Let me explain by reiterating something I've said many times before (about Provider web pages).

- No scripts!
- Etc., etc., etc.

Videos and all that crap are great for junior and high school students and for celebrities and so on. It doesn't mean that it's for EVERYONE.

I rarely look at the Photo Board (and I don't know what the 'click count' is - anybody got statistics?). I rarely look at Provider videos unless I think it is safe.

If no one has submitted anything how is it possible that there is a winner ? And what does that say to the previous girls who did submit a video last period to be considered? Is this another one of those... yeah there's rules but we pretty much do what we like and choose who we like?
It's sort of not fair and even more confusing that someone can win without submitting a video. Please explain further
The rules of course as usual are rather unclear, but the one thing that is clear is that a video MUST be submitted on the quarterly Ms TER thread on the Media board for a provider to be eligible. If there are no eligible candidates, just how can we have a winner? That makes no sense, none.
Too expensive if you really want to do a quality video to do one for ms TER and the privacy aspect of voice on video.
I also agree with some of what Rasha wrote.Even Ray charles could see the handwriting on the wall with that...lol

I used to laugh at some of the womens strip tease acts when I was younger. Some women try to act sexy and end up looking clumsy. I wouldn't do it unless you can pull it off or it can hurt you more than it helps.

It seems pretty clear to me, there can be no winner for the second quarter as no one submitted a video, or even a response to the thread.

TER has never liked having any cut and fast rules about Ms TER, which has led to some real head scratchers where it has come to some previous winners who had very few likes, very average reviews and very little board presence, yet still won Ms TER.
Without adding that language about "other" things being considered, Ms TER would simply be a contest where the lady who got the most likes on her video would be the winner, and Admin would not be able to put their hand on the scale to make the award to whomever they want to. The Ms TER rules have always been as clear as mud, and I don't see that EVER changing.

DBA does seem to be avoiding the question about "how can we have a winner if there are no qualified entrants?"
TER was pretty clear about the requirements to be eligible for Ms TER and it's equally clear that NO ONE meets those requirements this quarter.
