Was thinking about this SESTA/FOSTA bullshit and a screwball hypothetical popped into my brain. Maybe I'm just
spitballing here, but hear me out.
I imagine a lot of escorts see Ivy League types, and it must REALLY chap his ass that some girl from a family of no
consequence, from a shitty little town no one has ever heard of, with a nursing certificate from Shitlick Community
College, earns more "PER HOUR" than he does with a Harvard MBA! So what does he do about it? He does like any
spoiled rich kid, he goes and bitches to Daddy. "You're right, Junior" Daddy says. "We need to put these bitches in
their proper place! Who do they think they are to charge such prices. Let me call my Friend Rob Portman. I made a
sizable donation to his last campaign. He owes me one anyway."
Could this whole thing have started with just a couple guys? Not likely, but if you multiplied that by a couple
hundred, it could have. Something larger was at work here. And in discussing this, I'm sure they came to 2
realizations very fast; 1)You ladies make a lot of money, and have been for a while now. 2)They're not getting
their hands on any of it and they're pissed about it.
And then it dawned on them. If we play our cards right, we can make a shit load of money off this. Here's an
industry begging to be fucked with. Multi-billion dollar industry, almost all of it illegal. What if we turned that
upside down. Criminalize all independent advertising. Own, control, and build more legal brothels. With all the
independent escorts legislated out of existence, they'll be begging to come work in our brothels, and with all the
competition, we'll only have to pay them a fraction of what they previously earned. And with the independent
marketplace gone, the clients will HAVE to come to us. We can charge them any fucking thing we want! We'll become
the biggest pimps in the world and get stupid rich in the process! And the best part? It's all legal! It's a win
win for us! Cheap labor and high profits! Woo Hoo! Fuck competition! God bless a monopoly!
So how do we pass this nonsense? We run a bullshit ad campaign claiming it stops sex trafficking. No politician on
either side of the aisle would dare vote against it. And we'll wait until we have an orange faced, poop tweeting
moron for a president to rubber stamp it for us! Easy as 1-2-3.
So who are the big losers here? First and foremost, the poor unfortunate souls who actually are being trafficked. I
bet if you asked any detective anywhere in the country, he would tell you that BP was the best tool they had for
catching these monsters. These stupid fucks were so greedy, they willingly posted photos of underage girls on a
public forum! How fucking dumb can you get? Like catching fish in a barrel. With that tool gone, how the the fuck
is LE supposed to catch these guys now? Those girls fates are sealed. These laws just made them disappear.
Second biggest losers? Don't know who it's worse for, the provider or the client. I've never been to one of the
brothels, but I imagine the experience is less personal, less intimate, less private, more businesslike, and much
more expensive. Like being herded onto a fucking sex farm. The vibe has to be shitty. And for the provider; you
just took a once highly sought after, highly respected, highly paid, independent professional and turned her into a
punch clock factory worker. You're now working twice as hard to earn half as much. Your hard work is making some
other motherfucker rich. It's professional death.
So what's the lesson here? OWNERSHIP is the key to everything. Providers don't form PAC's that finance political
campaigns. Providers don't have a legal representative body (think labor union) to challenge any legislation that
threatens their industry. And providers don't own the buildings they work in. The people who just played you have
all 3 in the bag. OWNERSHIP is the key to everything. The person who does the work NEVER gets the money. It's
always the motherfucker who owns the building he works in. And he just tipped things back in his favor.
How's that for a bullshit conspiracy theory?
