TER General Board

I’m starting this off as a general musing….  that high quality US citizen providers are rare and hard to find, at least for those who are touring in my market.

My experience is getting to be that the best providers are mostly foreign.  And, mostly Brazilian and Russian or ex USSR.  With varying degrees of English culture.

I wonder, naively, what extra considerations you would make in these situations.  How much of an extra concern is federal LE?   What about ICE?  CIA?  (I have varying degrees of fantasy / daydream / speculation about espionage).

I went through the past threads about trafficking and it doesn’t seem to be a concern among high-class foreign independents.  But still interested in this question.

Other than that, it strikes me that there is a valuable “cultural exchange” element that foreign providers offer.  Getting a glimpse into their life and local culture…. Hearing about their travels (other than home and the U.S…)

I contrast this with the local Americans, who are either 200 low caliber providers; or $1,500+  upper-middle to upper class providers…   Perhaps it’s our standard of living that middle class Americans just aren’t there in the market.

mainstream middle class Americans, though I see at least one Asian national regularly also.

As for worrying about ICE, etc., I don't think it will come into play.

On a one to ten scale, it's a two.

Interested / curious what market you’re in?   My observations are that the major cities tend to have quality local options at the middle market, but not the second tier cities.

As a mid to upper mid tier provider, I, too, am curious what is this second tier market that apparently gets high-end touring providers, but doesn’t get mid to upper mid tier ones.

...on my local board to find provider(s) that were at least raised in the USA because I like to chit-chat and language and cultural issues (not being American) sometimes make conversations tough...

Here in NYC, most well-reviewed providers are usually Russian or South American....the American ones are usually 1000+ especially if they are legit under 30....

I've also noticed that these women tend to have lighter screening requirements. The first girl I saw, a Russian, asked for a selfie and a $50 Uber card. Pretty reasonable for a screening requirement. The American ones usually want a lot more.

And the word trafficking is thrown around so much, I think the average American has no clue what true trafficking is....I've seen news stories that mention the arrest of "traffickers" when it was nothing but an undercover prostitution sting where a female cop pretended to be a hooker and they arrested a bunch of horny neckbeards....not a single woman was trafficked.

It’s a midwestern midsize city.  Metro of about a million people, not unlike Milwaukee.

That sting is unfortunate… I could see the current administration doing the same on the federal level; especially if there’s any whiff of foreigners.

Why always a vague answer when asked this question?

privacy concerns, I guess

In addition to privacy, I don’t see it being all that relevant.  Midsize Midwest city should be enough for discussion purposes here.

In the decades that I've been doing this in LA, I have seen a steady progression towards more non-US providers. When I got to LA, all the working girls I met were American. As I spread my wings a bit, I met a lady from New Zealand and one from Canada, but, 5 years in, it was still an overwhelmingly American base of providers.

In another 5 years, I noticed more ladies from abroad, including the EU and Australia and one or two from South America. But foreign accents were still unusual, if not rare. Around 9/11, some foreign-born providers disappeared entirely. Shame.

By 2010, the number of EU providers had significantly increased,,Hungary, Czech, Scandinavia and Italy i remember being suddenly well represented. Still hardly any Asian women.

And then, the floodgates seemed to open. Suddenly, there were numerous Russian women and women from Slavic countries. Right behind that, the K-girl market appared and quickly took off over the next 5 years. It's not unusual now to find that 6 out of 10 new reviews in LA are of K-girls. Both agencies I regularly use  now are heavily populated by South American women, with an occasional girls from the EU and an American or 2. Before that (just a couple of years ago) that same agency represented mostly American girls.

Forgive my going on, but it has been an interesting change over time. Sure, there are times when conversation is somewhere between difficult and impossible, but it's still mostly fun. I miss the conversation less than I rue the feeling of being on an assembly line (e.g. with the K-girl experience). And some of the most beautiful and sweet and engaged women I've had the pleasure to meet were from Argentina and Czech. At this point in my life, I still have a preference for American girls, but I also consider myself an internationalist. Long may all the flags wave.

Problem is that’s a subjective answer. What that means to you, may not mean the same to others. It’s harder to understand your situation without that detail. You concerned anyone is going to know who you are or something? Unless you’re in a really small town, that detail is unlikely to impact your privacy. But hey, I’m in big city LA, so I’m the furthest from having to worry about that type of thing.

Already happened.

In my area, a motel known for prostitution was raided by ICE…they were also employing a lot of indian people illegally here

but this was earlier last year

With the advent of TER in 2000 and the bust of two large Russian agencies, the Russians disappeared.  Starting about 2008, K-Girl agencies started to take over.  There are still Russians in L.A. today, but they're mostly independent.
