It is a mixture of things that can be purchased cheaper separately. Tribulus stimulates testosterone production to increase libido, the other ingredients increase blood flow to the penis for stronger erections. I would not take this because of the yohimbe, which raises blood pressure and gives me an unpleasant speedy feeling. What works best for me is L-Arginine, two grams taken two hours before sex. L-Arginine can cause herpes outbreaks when taken in large doses, so you should take Lysine along with it for safety. It can also cause diarrhea if you are not used to it, so try small doses at first.
The problem with all of this herbal and holistic stuff is that there is no regulation or requirements to prove that they do what they claim to do. They essentially leave it to the public to test. Then when you get a lot of testimonial advertizing the public often can't separate expectations from reality (do I feel better? I must, I took the stuff..sure I feel better)
When people take things that alter hormone activity they potentially invite tumorogenesis. And without controled studies to give some kind of idea as to the eficacy, where are you?
Ask yourself, does anything increase blood flow to only one organ? Maybe, but maybe not. Ginko has been touted as a memory booster. When studied, it did show increased blood flow to the brain so perhaps it did improve memory...but it also caused a statistically significant number of brain hemorrhages!
Tell you what, you guys test it and let me know in a few years how you are doing.
There are many supplements being sold which are proudly trumpeted as being shown to increase testosterone, stimulate HGH production, etc. The question is, what are the long term effects of tampering with hormone levels.
The chances that the outfit selling Enzyte have done any clinical studies of their product are slim and none. Aside from Tribulus, a testosterone booster, it is a grab bag of reputed erection enhancers. Ginko increases circulation, but also raises blood pressure. Taking enough niacin to affect your erection would also give you a niacin flush- tingling and/or burning on the face and scalp. It is possible that niacin has a synergistic effect with the other ingredients, but it is more likely they threw it in because "what the hell, it couldn't hurt".
The one ingredient in Enzyte I can recommend based on my own, completely anecdotal, non clinical experience is arginine. Arginine works for me with no side effects that I can tell. The guy behind the website www.arginine.net says that it does not enhance his sexual performance, so it does not work for everyone.
Another supplement you might be interested in is Kwao Krua, a Thai root . It is expensive and hard to find, but if arginine does not work for you you may want to give it a try. It works for me, but so does arginine which is cheaper.
