I think your response to that article is a great representation of the quality of providers here.  I bet the author (and  Dan Fielding lol)were not expecting a  provider to respond.  Well said.

Just found this interesting article - it's conclusion is that providers have a better grip on social networking.  They don't mention TER which is a shame, because this site would really compliment their point.

As a provider myself, I am in college and hope to go on to grad school. I don’t socially associate with many other providers except for online through said networking sites, but of the ladies I do know in person, one has an ad career and works full time, neck to neck with other professional men and women. One has a family and children. And one is also a college student- hoping to become a teacher. There are also many providers who have worked in professional fields and have undergrad and graduate degrees, but choose providing as either a supplement to their jobs, or a career in and of itself, which I think is perfectly legitimate. The reasons are so varied and can’t be generalized, but it is empowering to own your own business. You can set your own hours, screen your clients and decide who you want to see, set your own income, etc. I get to meet fascinating people who I would never otherwise meet due to age difference, geography, and the way society is set up. I enjoy sex and doing something you love and getting paid is the ultimate career goal. However, I am working towards another career. That said, I could see myself doing this part time or on the side throughout my life and career, simply because I enjoy it. Just some thoughts from a provider. And one other thing- providers are not here to “lick your sweaty scrotum,” Dan Fielding. If a client is not clean and respectful, we don’t see them. Furthermore, a majority of my clients participate in the hobby for both the physical pleasure, and for the companionship and feeling of intimacy. That said, I am more than happy to lick the (clean) scrotum of the respectful and diverse group of clients that I choose to see, but don’t assume that because we are “prostitutes” we will have sex with anyone who pays us or allow ourselves to be treated with disrespect.

What do you think? Should I have left it alone? Lol, I just couldn't resist jumping in. I didn't want to put my own website but I linked to TER.

Yeah I was shocked that a provider would reply... Wait no I wasn't. I don't think I painted providers or the hobbyist community in a bad light at all, if anything I made a case that they are a much more supportive community than other social networking sites.

The article made the front page of digg and over 40k people read it the day after I posted it. I have had messages from providers, message boards, and more. If anything I was hoping providers or hobbyists would reply and create a discussion.
