To all the soldiers, airmen, squids, grunts, and coasties who have given to this country...

A HUGE THANKYOU !!!!!

I want to personally thank anyone who has served this country and those who have stood beside us from other countries to serve for a common cause. Please, let us remember our fallen heroes. United We Stand! Divided We Fall!

Let's pray not just for peace in other countries but for a new start with our nation's leaders. Whether you like the new leaders or not, please support him and his staff in the hard struggle to correct our debts and help people who have lost homes because of lack of employment and ARM loans. Let us be thankful for those who have given us the freedom to make our own choices in this country and also for an America we can all be proud to call home. Pray for our men and women who continue to selflessly serve through trials and tribulations, especially during the holidays, and that they will be returning soon to their families.

Hoooah! Cheers For the red, white and blue!
Ciara

great country of ours.  God bless our troops everywhere, especially those in harm's way.

On Veteran’s Day we honor
Soldiers who protect our nation.
For their service as our warriors,
They deserve our admiration.

Some of them were drafted;
Some were volunteers;
For some it was just yesterday;
For some it’s been many years;

In the jungle or the desert,
On land or on the sea,
They did whatever was assigned
To produce a victory.

Some came back; some didn’t.
They defended us everywhere.
Some saw combat; some rode a desk;
All of them did their share.

No matter what the duty,
For low pay and little glory,
These soldiers gave up normal lives,
For duties mundane and gory.

Let every veteran be honored;
Don’t let politics get in the way.
Without them, freedom would have died;
What they did, we can’t repay.

We owe so much to them,
Who kept us safe from terror,
So when we see a uniform,
Let’s say "thank you" to every wearer.

By Joanna Fuchs

My sincere thank you to all past soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines and coast guardsmen. Without your service, dedication and sacrifice our Constitution would be meaningless and powerless.

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, National Guard or Reserve - is someone who, at one point, in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to “The United States of America” for an amount of “up to and including my life.”

That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.

I second this post. My uncle (who I never knew died at 19 in WW2). Thanks to all who lived and died for our country!!

of a friend who is a veteran of the Vietnam war...  he now suffers with a deadly disease related to that service to our country...  There is no way that we can repay the debt... but maybe as we did on Saturday night, saying thank you - again, is the best way to do it.  So again, thank you for the sacrifice.

...the 90th anniversary of the end of the "war to end all wars" (firing stopped on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918.) Since then, of course, there are many men and women to whom we all owe our thanks for their service.  The twentieth century was certainly the most deadly in human history, but the 21st has a good start on contending for the title.  We should all give thanks for those who have sacrificed and hope that killing each other is not an inherent part of human nature.

That these men and women were willing to leave their families, give up their comforts and possible give up their lives so we can enjoy the freedoms of this country.  No matter where you stand on political issues or any war the USA is fighting in, please take a moment to thank a soldier.  Because of them, you have the freedom to express your feelings without fear of retribution.

God Bless America.

Just wanted to add my note of thanks to all the brave veterans who keep us safe and protect the ideals of liberty and justice which are the bedrock principles upon which our nation is based.  Thank you so very much for your service.  I also want to add a word of thanks to the families of veterans everywhere.  You have much to be proud of.

for her veterans and servicemen /women. I remember all to vividly a time when it was not that way. The 70s were a tough time to wear the uniform in the States. I am so happy that America has left those dark days behind and that regardless of where Americans stand on Iraq / Afghanistan, regardless of our politics, we as a nation show appreciation for our veterans, and for our men and women in uniform. God Bless America.

Your welcome!....Let's just hope the Iraq war,doesn't turn out to be another Viet Nam!

I still remember those days of humping 100 pounds on my back (and I was only 110 pounds) for thirteen miles, of jumping out of perfectly good airplanes and landing like a lump of clay on the hardened & wet and cold ground, and taking orders from someone who was twice my age (younger, that is). You had to have a lot of patience.

Cheers to those who endured and perservered  -- and especially to those of us who were injured and have those injuries that remind us daily of the sacrifice we gave. But I wouldn't have it any other way. :)

Hugs,
Ciara

and in a world of conformity, plain vanilla uniformity, that is indeed a great thing.

be well!

I must admit I love vanilla, though, but I'll try an oreo sandwich if provided. :)
