It's really a nice touch.

OK I've actually never broken up with anyone, so I'm full of sh!t, but I'm guessing that would be the ride of a lifetime.

Be it friend or SO. Did you do it in person, text, email, or a letter?

Saw this link (enclosed below) and found it interesting how we say our goodbyes. Some are nice about it, others are mean.

(on the slide show) Apparently one guy felt the need to tell her the dog even hates her too :D

I keep it simple and just say I don't see a future together (as far as SOs) and break contact. Yes I break contact so that they may have time to settle in to the fact that I am moving on and so should they. It's hard to put boundries back up once they have been open.  

With friends, once I get to the point where it is not a happy friendship (mainly they are too negative or it is a very unbalanced friendship) I try to let them know how I feel... and if all else fails, I say what I have to say and break contact.

And they all go way back before the electronic age, so pretty much they were in person.

The last one was via a deputy serving divorce papers, however.

The others were a lot more civilized, and in most cases, we remained friend.

Just did it to a couple of girls. I saw no real future with them and rather than outright saying I don't want to see you anymore I just ignored their calls (there was no email or texting back then, thank goodness)

So 2xnd night in my apt... we are going at it... and I bring it up  

he says flat out he doesn't do that

I just flipped.... hence a argument for the next 2 days...

well I just CAN NOT be happy with a guy who refuses...

when my BF and I first broke up in June 2007, I had a FEELING something was up... there were labeled boxes in the garage... I asked, he said he was organizing...  

I guess I wanted to believe that...  

He picked me up from my regular job on Sat... he pulls over before we get home... we run into the store... my son gets in the car, before I get in... he stops me, kisses me and says "I love you I need you to be calm... just know I love you"

I am totally confused, but as we turned our corner, I see a UHUAL fully loaded in the driveway

Thats how he told me...

One, he knew I needed to work... and he knew if he had told me, I would not have gone to work... and I needed my job...  

But in the end, I quit a month later, and returned to this because I lost his income...  

He knew how I get emotionally... and I can break down emotionally... and he was trying to do this the easiest way, and cleanest way for our kids, and not have them see me break down...  

He was trying to do it cleanly, with less hurt...  

I did end up being hurt.. not so much angry, but this has left something in my memory... maybe it was a good way, it was a learning lesson..

When she was at work stripping, i went to her place and got all my shit out. The bed i loaned her and all my personal stuff. She had no clue i was getting ready to dump her.
