No topic brings out the self-righteous, & know it alls more than BB...People all of a sudden become fellows at the Cleveland Clinic & subsequent medical experts...

First & foremost, I doubt anyone is going to seek the advice & consent of other TER posters...Providers & hobbyists are adults & if people engage in BB, that is a result of a mutual consent between both parties, in essense, a meeting of the minds...No one puts a gun to the others head....Sure, some behavior is risky, but can we quit with the sky is falling rhetoric everytime BB is brought up....Every hobbyist is different....Some see providers, plus have girlfriends and/or wives, they have to worry about bringing something home to someone....Then there are single hobbyists with no attachments...And the scenarios go on & on...

People aren't dropping dead in the adult film business....And please spare me rhetoric that things are different in "adult films"...If you want to tell me that the guys in porn are great-looking & great-performers, fine, you win...But they are not any healthier than someone who gets tested regualrly & avoids highest risk activity like greek, drugs, etc...So don't preach to me that BB is for the "professionals" in the adult business, because those people are not any healthier than me...

It's funny, people won't worry about things they SHOULD be concerned about like following a sensible diet, getting regular excercise, keeping blood pressure & blood cholesterol levels in check, smoking, etc...Instead, people occupy themselves with far-reaching thoughts like BB=death, etc...

Let's quit being so self righteous....

The fact about HIV and other diseases: they aren't like tennis elbow. The more people who catch them, the more often other people will catch them.

The incidence of HIV is low right now.  It doesn't have to stay that way, and it won't if people get too careless.  HIV is avoidable if people follow simple measures.  That's why it's important to close ranks against any pair of idiots who flout those measures.

They test for HIV in the adult industry, knowing full well that an outbreak could ruin them.  The last time there was an outbreak, not one, but three people became HIV positive at the same time.  If they hadn't been somewhat precautious, what might have happened?  As it was, it shut the business down for at least a month and put three performers out of their career.

That's not self-righteous, that's just right.  Try to dispute it without attacking the imagined health habits of other people in the hobby.

an idiot and a coward who hides behind an alias.

If anyone brings up BB to me prior to an appointment, his ass is grass and he never meets me.

If he brings it DURING the appointment, believe me, my usual excellent customer service is going to go in the dumpster.

Think whatever you want, Aussie-- and while the rest of us stay health, you can curl up in a little ball and let us know how you like it in the hospice.

...so you could be at the top, huh?

First and foremost, MANY DO seek the advice of others in the hobby.  Just read the post you are inspired by.  Secondly, a "gun to the head" was not suggested by anyone, but even Anal Idiot at least took pause at the thought of what new, insecure girls might do for a good review or lack of a bad one.  THAT, depending on the girl, just might be a "gun to her head".

So, I think the point you are trying to make is that we should all live and let live, right?  Not worry about others...not worry about who is doing what in their own beds and just let the HIV epidemic re-explode like it did the last time society took "your advice", right?

The adult film industry is NOTED for almost daily testing of the participants to make sure that if anyone does get anything it is not passed on.  They may not be any healthier than you, but I think they make better choices than you...asssuming you practice what YOU preach.

And agreeing with Tabu....While certainly critical for overall health what does eating healthy etc., have to do with THIS topic of safe sex?  Are you asserting that because you eat right you will not get a disease?

This will be my last post on this thread & people are way too judgemental, paranoid, & well, stupid...

No where am I telling people how to live, BB is a fact that happens....What I was saying is that people have this sky is falling & world is going to end attitude about it....

I'm tested regularly, have never have engaged in high risk behavior, ie; anal, no drugs/alcohol, gay/bi stuff, etc., so to poster "Party Hearty", I'm making pretty damn good choices you judgemental jerk....Also, industry people are not tested daily, try 1-2 a month...Your the typical know it all who knows very little...

And to "Tabu", you certainly proved to be nothing other than mean-spirited woman with a bad attitude..Unless I come down with some totally unforseen condition like ALS, cancer, etc. I doubt I'll wind up at a hospice...Your comment was classless & stupid..

It's too difficult to have civilized debate with irrational fools like Tabu, & Party Hearty...You both proved my point from the inital post about a "sky is falling" attitude....

If you consider the posters OF these messages "self righteous", then I feel sorry for you. What you call self-righteous, I call "responsible" members of a community. Especially a community that is within a society that would look down on it with much derision and scorn.
Bringing up what people SHOULD worry about is ridiculous. The topic brought up was in regards to practicing unsafe sex. Anal Idiot and the providers he was with "chose" to practice "unsafe" sex. Why don't you look up the words "chose" and "unsafe" in any dictionary, and regale us with their meanings.
As for the adult film business, there are plenty of stories regarding former performers who have contracted HIV,AIDS, and other STD's. I invite you to look up the website RAME, and go check out the dead pornstars listing. See how many are listed that died of AIDs. I don't give a damn if they used drugs, or got it by a blood transfusion, or whatever. The common denominator in those scenarios was a transfer thru the body and its fluids, which can also be done via un-protected sex. The adult film industry prides itself on being very pro-active in regards to testing its performers for STD's regularly. One of the major stars of the 80's runs a clinic that offers testing, advice, and counseling to performers today. Her name is Sharon Mitchell and the clinic is called AIM. I think I have said enough for this thread , but let me leave you with a couple of final words.
If I sound "self righteous", then I'll take it. I'd rather be self-righteous, and alive , than a mornic imbecile and dead.
If you "choose" not to respond to this, I can understand why. I'll leave that to your limited imagination.

To everyone out there in our world,
PLAY SAFE and HAPPY HOBBYING,

bigliguy :)

Either accept the risks of hobbying (AND HAVING SEXUAL RELATIONS OF ANY KIND IN OR OUT OF THE HOBBY), or go chant on a hillside and put your nuts (or ovaries) in a jar to rot.

I'm sorry, I can't be impressed with your higher moral stance here.  If anything, it makes you look like a buffoon.

I've read and reread your post, thinking that maybe I didn't read carefully enough.  Now that I have, I can't see what the hell you're ranting about, nor what you're still ranting about in this post, nor why you've become so mad now that you're going to deprive people of your ranting (or more likely, retire your alias).  Maybe that's the logical end to everything else you've written, but then you lost me long before this.

So, if you take all the precautions you say, why do you have an objection to other people urging those same precautions?  When other people urge them, it's a sky-is-falling attitude, but when you do them yourself, it's proof that you're actually smart, that you just defend idiocy?

So, are you saying that you're smart enough to take precautions yourself, but you're too respectful of other people to urge that they do the smart thing, too?  Or do you just have that much self-doubt that condoms are a smart thing in the hobby?

I don't understand what you are referring to as a "sky-is-falling" attitude.  Wearing a coat on your john thomas just doesn't seem like a sky is falling attitude to me.  Urging it very strongly doesn't seem like it to me either.  Why do you feel stung by criticism directed at somebody else here?  So much that you get this angry?

As with anything - common sense goes a long way. Tis not surprising that the very thing you accuse others of, you may very well be guilty of yourself.
People drop dead for many reasons - you seem not to need one.
Seems also that you should consider link below, which indicates in North America, there is an incidence of 19/1000 per population, in Australia, the incidence is 27/1000.
May want to rethink your position, but of course you may have other things to worry about such as being eaten by crocks or great whites... c'est la guerre - I guess it is just each to his/her own (as it should be)

all the testing parameters available to help us assess the effect of our individual lifestyle on our individual health.  No argument exists there.  but... having said that, this is a forum, for the open exchange of concepts and ideas.  got it!?  I have been flamed - called a "tedious maggot" by she, whose name we cannot mention... and so on.  I accept that as a part of participation in the ongoing debate(s)... In fact, I have met (in the flesh) those with whom I have had disagreements with (both male and female) and have found that they too are human, and in general I like them tremeandously!  Most excellent folks to hang with.

So, strong opinions on this?! yup!  but like everything else... sometimes people come onto this board wanting some self vendication or self verification.... and sometimes it would be unwise to grant it, for obvious reasons.

What is wrong with ctiricizing a behavior that doesn't stop at the bedroom door, and has the potential to affect untold others in the hobbying community? That is hardly being self-righteous. Rather, it is the responsibility and duty of a community that is dependent upon nothing more than the common sense and responsible choices of its individual members for its safety.

Anyone that engages in higher risk behaviors - ie BBFS and BBA - puts not only themselves at risk, but every other member of the hobbying community as well. There is no such thing as safe sex, but the use of condoms makes sex SAFER. However, accidents happen. Condoms break, they slip off at inopportune moments. When members of the hobbying community put themselves at risk by not using a condom, they haven't just exposed themselves to the possible consequences of STD transmission, they also expose every single partner they see after that to that same risk, whether condoms are used or not.

Your arrogant claims of self-righteousness have a distinctly hollow ring when the potential harm to those who do make safe choices is accounted for. If you want to play russian roulette with your own life, that is your business. But when your decision to take your chances has the potential to impact every other person in this community, it becomes our business.

The reason why BB brings everyone out o fthe woodwork, is because everyone has an opinion on it..but I wouldnt go out and have a one nightstand and do it without a condom..because I dont know if the other person is 100% clean..I dont want to have to worry about it the next morning.

yes if two people decide they want to go without a condom find that is their problem..just like when people decide to do drugs..or two rob a store...its their problem...its all risky behaviour.  In the porn industry..the actors MUST get tested all the time..and show their little health cards or certificates before they can start filiming..I have a few friends who are in the industry..especially more so now, since that scare happend a few years ago..in the industry where everyone shut down for a while....I am sure there are some seedy porn companies that dont care..just like some people dont care and go bare...

It just surprises me..that to put it frankly..a guy  would have sex with a Prostitute  and NOT use protection?  Most ladies I am sure get teste..but there are people who just dont..and who knows whats festering in their body?  And it would scare me to do it, wondering who else is this guy doing bareback with, and how safe are THOSE women being and how clean are they?  And so on and so on...

If anyone does it..I dont HATE them I just wouldnt do it, and I dont think they THEY are very smart individuals.  I value my life and my health..I just dont want to do anything to jeapordize it..I mean all of us ladies have enough to worry about in this business as it is...its a great business, but Ijust think we should all try to be safe...

Everyone will have an opinion..and everyones opinion is respected by me...these are just my thoughts.  This is a board where everyone is welcome to post their opinions..:)

And if anyone sounds like they are lobbying for clinic spokesperson of the year..its not that..its just that, the individual is educated on practices of safe sex and the dangers of unprotected sex.

 Hugs to All..Sidney Starr

I forced my uncovered cock up your ass!

NEITHER activity should be condoned or allowed! And while one is considered "rape" by the force-of-will against the body, the other is equally a form of "rape" by attempting to force an entire community to buckle to your demand!

Expressing your opinion is one thing, but forcing your opinion under the ruse of "protecting the community from risk" is quite another!

Let's suspose a provider has an S.O. that she enjoys bareback sex with at home and off the meter. (This is OBVIOUSLY extremely common in our hobby due to large number of providers that start families while in this occupation and even offer preggo-kink and lactaion-services!)

Now, let's guess that the S.O. is a bit "relaxed" in his monogamy to the provider, and let's also assume he's bi-sexual... Now he goes "partying" often and gets infected with something/anything and brings it home to share in the bedroom... Thus he fills his provider-wife/girlfriend with his load of infected jizz a few hours before she "goes to work" where she gives an extended DATY to her client in which he imbibes deeply in her liquid-love and inturn, inadvertently  chugs down her man's tainted-load!

Chances are this type of "irresistiblity" exists at a far greater rate that the slippery-slop-cause&effect exaggerations you pompusly and self-rightously spew...

I work in the adult film industry and we have to be tested more than regularly, we have to be tested monthly and our co stars view the tests and the video producers/directors go to the AIM website to confirm the validity of our tests.

If you are tested atleast once a month or more a month and have atleast a 6 month record of doing so that you could show the provider, or give her your name from the AIM test so she could go online ahead of time and check it and also show her your driver license so she can be assured you are the same person, you might find a couple girls who may do BB.

of course then you'd also need to be sure that the girl is on birth control of some type. (NOT ALL OF US ARE)

and of course then you'd have to bring up sexual acts, and most providers, including myself do not respond to inquiries about sex acts. but if you have a regular girl you might bring it up to her and both go get aim tests. They cost about $120, you have to request the herpes test be added to their regular testing.

I am not here to judge, just hopefully giving some helpful comments.

First, let me say thank you for apparently being so deeply offended by my post that you felt compelled to make an alias mocking my user name. If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then I must take your offense and subsequent petualant mockery as a compliment. For that I thank you.

Second, I must say I am rather confused by your hysterical ravings about my desire to "control" discussion, or attempts to force a community to "buckle to my demand".

According to websters, "control" is defined as "power or authority to guide or manage". This is a public forum. One that I periodically contribute to, the same as others. Where you derive my post as an attempt to control is quite frankly, beyond me. Are you saying that an opinion that differs from yours is an act of control? God help us, we are evidently controlled every moment of every day by the pundits of the world if an opinion amounts to "control".

Secondly, I fail to see how expressing a legitmate concern about the safety of the hobbying community as a whole, as well concern about the public face the hobbying community presents to the uptight Victorian regime in our country amounts to "forcing an entire community to buckle" to mine or anyone else's demand. While it is true that I excelled in English classes in school, and I do write rather well, surely you can't mean that my simple post somehow jumped out of your computer and shoved a condom on your cock against your will did it? No? Then please explain how I have forced you to do anything? I really am terribly curious to understand that one.

Finally, I have an SO that I adore. By mutual consent though, condoms are always used, and will continue to be used as long as I continue with my chosen profession. I am as concerned for his health as I am for my own. Perhaps that is a concept that you don't get, but most of the rest of us do. As long as an element remains in this community that insists on putting themselves at risk, and in doing so put the rest of the community at risk, you can count on periodic posts on this topic that spell out in very clear terms why such behavior is risky, and extremely foolhardy. If you can't deal with that fact, perhaps you ought to consider stamp collecting as a hobby. Then your only risk will be the occasional paper cut to the tongue, but the rest of us will remain far safer for your absense.

PS. Allow me to be a bit presumptuous for a moment, but might I humbly suggest a few remedial lessons in grammar and spelling? The ability to spell most words correctly, and construct an intelligible sentence will go along way toward giving your hysterical ravings a semblance of intelligence and credibility.

Be well :o)

thank you for being civil..That simple task was too difficult for some of the other posters..

Ok Sidney Star, you have friends in the adult business, who, in all likelihood are doing BB, including higher risk activities...So may I inquire as to what is so wrong if a provider/client who see each other regularly and EXCHANGE tests, and only engage in vaginal BB...I test REGULARLY, & avoid the highest risk activities as I stated in a prior post...There are profound differences between vaginal & anal sex ...To Vicki Nicole, yes, I've done testing thru AIM & some thru non-AIM facilities to..And I do standard STD testing along with a urinalysis ROUTINELY..I test regularly, plain & simple, I can't convey this any stronger...One more note to Sidney, come on, that was quite a stretch to compare BB to "robbing a drug store" & "doing drugs"...Well, I've done neither, & didn't understand that comparison....

The Russian roulette analogy by sinsofflesh was  statistically untrue & silly...If one plays Russian roulette, the chances of being struck with a bullet are 1/6...One has a much better chance of winning the Megamillions lottery than contracting HIV thru vaginal intercourse..Myths can be good scare tactics...One classic medical MYTH is the "eating too much sugar causes diabetes" one....Grant it, it's a great scare tactic for a mom who tells Johnny that eating one too many Kit-Kat's will give you diabetes..Well, too much sugar consumption does NOT cause diabetes..And, a statistical MYTH is to say that "vaginal BB=russian roulette"..Again, it's a good scare tactic, but its statistically false...And please, I'm not comparing diabetes to STD's, I just used the 2 to show the scare tactic used..

Hahaha..okay the reason I mentioned all 3 nonrelated acts were because they are all related in being high risk..all three have their own potential risks.  What I meant by BB being highrisk is BB within the hobby.  All the guys that have asked me for BB..have only their word for me to go by..they just say that they are clean guys..they are safe guys...

I dont care what other people are doing in the hobby..I just care what I am doing..get it?  BB is NOT for me..even if they guy shows me a clean bill of health...I then am NOT going to allow BB because hey everyone is clean and they can prove it.,.but I am not going to get pregnant from a client...birthcontrol has known to fail..and with my luck..I would be in the 1%  that the birth control methods failed. ;)

Also many people have contracted the virus thru unprotected sex....along with nasty STDs...its not all thru anal or blood tranfusions..etc.

Its just not for me...I feel better and safer using protection.

 Hugs, Sidney Starr
