What do you think are the contributing factors that made hobbying - providing somewhat more complex than it was supposed to be?

No offense to whoever disagrees but, There's nothing "anonymous" about casual sex anymore.

2 major complexities for me.

The complication that springs to my mind first is screening.  Screening is necessary because there are bad people out there.... and yes, they do have a tendency to complicate (ie. fuck things up) for the rest of us.  

The second is the legality issue.  And I'm just gonna leave that right there.  ;-)

It seems pretty simple to me. You get yourself established via a verification site. P411 is my preference. Then you sign up for VIP here on TER, which can be done anonymously. You read the self-help manual which gives you the ground rules to the playground...much of which is common sense. Next, you research, arrange a rendezvous, have fun and repeat.  

What am I missing?

Okay... I agree with you... those are complexities that must be taken into account...

I guess I'm struggling with the phrase "more complex than it was supposed to be"  what does that mean exactly? Supposed to be according to whom? It seems to me the two issues you mentioned are a fact that has always been part of the...okay, I'll break down and say it...the hobby.

Human nature.

As a species we tend to fuck up everything. Even causal consensual no string sex. First we have the busy bodies who think because something is not for them it isn't for anyone. If they aren't into it it must be evil and harmful. So they outlaw it. They shame people who do it. They out right persecute people. They dehumanize them with words like whore, hooker, slut, trick, john, and the like. Avoiding the law and the shaming adds tons of complications. Some of the people who do this take this shit (the shame) in and hate themselves for it and they hate there partners in crime for it as well. Their misery makes this more complicated than it needs be. Sad. And even more sad is the fact this is hardly unique to the world.

Others do this to replace something that is missing like love, real closeness, a relationship, true companionship and/or acceptance. This is none of those things. It is sex, lust, fun, a moment free of worldly cares, a living, those things it is and can be but it isn't real or lasting. It ends at the end of the session. While real friendships can be forged, if both side respect what this is and accept its limits, this is not the place to seek a real SO style relationship. It is not the place to hunt for love. Doing so nearly always leads to pain. Not accepting that this is nothing more than fun and money much more complex then need be.

Last thing that adds complexity needlessly is lack of communication.  I am going to tell of a date I had. I was eating her out and I could tell she wasn't really enjoy it. I asked her how she liked it, as every woman is a bit different, and she said she loved what I was doing. I knew she was lying, and it lost its fun. I don't need a woman to cum for me, but some feed back

Reading some of the posts here and on the newbie board,

Some folks make it a lot more complex than it should be. I'm with the good Senator here. For me personally it is very simple AND anonymous.

The lying and manipulation

What used to be all about the good time has changed. A new generation has come in and it's crazy. I am in awe and amazed at what people will lie about and omit to make money. Men as well...putting monopoly money in the envelope (not mine).  Guys waiting in the bathroom to rob the man who shows up. I could go on but I won't  yet.  YET   People need to start getting real.

I have to say it's not really that fucking complicated for some of us

I have a pretty simple approach to fucking hookers, I search, I find, I pay, I fuck, I/she goes home. Repeat at least every day or two as the need "arises".  

What is really so freaking difficult about having sex with hookers?

Personally I think this whole process is mainly made difficult by guys who can only afford to do it on a monthly basis, part of the fun for them by necessity is the "hunt" If I wanted the "hunt" and to only get laid sporadically, I'd stick to civvie chicks. I like SEX, I don't see any point in taking more time finding someone I am attracted to, reading every single review she has ever had, backchanneling all her reviewers, poring over every pic, making an appointment a month out, exchanging emails with her for the entire month etc etc etc, only to end up with an NCNS at the end of 60 hours worth of work.

I have P 411, it takes me ten minutes tops, to decide on a lady or two that interest me, a couple of minutes more to send a PM, a little bit of time waiting for her to check out my profile and okays, and that's it. That's as complicated as it gets for me. I actually prefer the way I do it in Costa Rica, I go downstairs from my hotel room, pick out a chica I like, bring her upstairs and fuck her. I guess I am a rather simple man, with simple needs. Great pussy being at the top of those list of needs and complicating my life being at the bottom.

I agree with the professor (GaG) and the senator. This is not . . .

complicated and doesn't become complicated as long as you do your due diligence. Works for both providers and mongers. If providers don't screen well or guys don't search well, bad things can happen.

Sign of the times

I think it's rather simple: the complexity comes from our complicated internet, which is the main avenue these days for our hobby.  Think about it; back in the day, a man either picked up a woman off the street, or called an agency.  Now it's easier and safer, with reviews and screening, for the providers and clients to be pickier.  The providers not only need to put their picture out there, but they also have to imprint some of their personality on their websites in order to stand out from the crowd.  And the clients (especially the newbies) have to jump through hoops to get through the average screening.  With all the work both sides have to put into it now, both the providers and clients expect a better experience as opposed to the mere "bang for the buck."

Who are you seeing?

The provider's I have met are really nice people and treated me special.    The client's I have met talk about how nice the provider's are.      You need to find some good customer's and give them a good value.    Develop some regular's where you can feel safe.

Casual Sex seems way less seedy now..

...I think we're getting to a place where casual sex is so widely accepted that there's no/little guilt attached to it anymore. That lack of guilt or shame allows for more of an opportunity to really enjoy one another. It gets complicated the more comfortable I feel.
