So many claim discretion and contradict themselves with actions. Being discreet is more than just not telling the guy's wife lol. Gosh. Some things to help with privacy...
1. Don't show your face on the internet unless you are not naive to the fact that your family, friends, and a future employer can find it, and just dont' care. FYI, your married clients can't exactly take you to dinner (extended dates=money) if you are both local and you show your face. ANY of this friends, coworkers, etc. could have also seen you.
2. Don't work from your own home, especially if you own it (in your name). One trip to the mortgage dept. and the guy knows everything about you...in fact, he can get that from your license plate when your damn car is in the driveway lol. I am sorry, but I find the idea of strangers cumming in the very bed I sleep in, to be rather disgusting. That is what hotels are for...they can wash the damn sheets, and it's not my sanctuary that I don't want tainted so to speak. I could never imagine having a child sleep in the very bed I had a client rubbing his ass all over the very same day. GROSS!
3. I avoid any type of social or professional sites...too easy to find out your real identity with facial recognition software. If you have your face blurred on your site but not blurred on say LinkedIn or Match.com, it's easy to connect the two. Why anyone would use the same photos for two lives, is beyond me, but yep...it happens. Other than that, I don't believe in mixing the two worlds, and those sites are far too easy to hack into.
4. Just protect yourself, and don't get too close to tons of people in this business. Most have no ambition and have an agenda to hurt those who do.
5. Do NOT use your phone or email for this business when booking hotels!!! They check sometimes!
6. Do NOT EVER hook up to the hotel internet...buy a wireless router and take it with you everywhere you go, or use your phone. Also, don't use the same hotel or even the same chain all the time. Forget about your damn reward points! Too many visits becomes obvious especially if you are seeing more than 1 guy a day, a week at a time. If you want points, go to hotels.com and get a free night after staying 10 nights in different hotels.
7. Though some will disagree, I would never use a mailing list or keep a log of emails and numbers on the clients I have seen...sorry, but if you need a ref, then you will need to remind me of who you are, what you look like, where we met (which city and hotel) and what I wore. I am not keeping a log to give you a reference! Or, write a review! That's the best way for me to see who you are and what we have done to spark my memory. I don't need a log of shit, when your handle is on my profile.
