For those of you who either missed, don't watch or can't afford HBO...this from last nights New Rules from Bill Maher:

"Lap dancing is a 1st amendment right. The LA city council this week banned lap dancing. What is next...burning books? Lap dancers, or Imagineers as I like to call them, are artists drawing you into their fantasy world much like a skilled novelist does...if novelists had perfectly waxed bikini lines. But more importantly, lap dancers are expressing an idea. An idea called hope. The hope that some day a skinny young woman with artificial breasts and a naval piercing will want to have sex with you. And without that hope millions of men might just as well throw themselves into the sea."

If it wasn't for the twice weekly hope of hitting Lotto I'd have pulled the pin long ago.

  Wether its a lap dance or Lotto ticket it certainly is about hope.

Damn I have never had a lap dance.  No wonder I am depressed all the time.  I will remedy that at the end of this month.

Boys, I was a lap dancer for many many a hopeful of all ages and colors. I survived for years because of that glimmering, fleeting pseudo-promise called hope....

Now I practice a different method, which has proven not only to support me much more effectively ... I'll call it "DELIVERANCE"

So .... don't despair.... forget "hope" .... its pathetic and when it runs out, drowning is not a viable option ... come to me and I will DELIVER you from "HOPE"

save your $$$... lap dances are a total ripoff

Sometimes lap dances can really be fantastic and sometimes they can be pathetic and really drive home the point that you are living a life of quiet desperation.  The lap dances I had in Palm Springs (Cathederal City) CA really were bad. No touch (at all!) and they didn't take their tops off!!! Plus-no smoking in a bar!!! I felt like I was back in the 8th grade standing outside the back of my JHS.  Las Vegas on the other hand.  Vavavavoom  You'll think you've died and gone to Heaven. Beware, though, go to only the top 4 clubs.  There are a # of clubs that are truly dangerous and ripoff joints.

O” my god you pure guys, I never though about lap dancing quit like this. But you are right. According to my dad, Cigarettes, a cold beer, and a bad woman, is what this country was founded on. It’s what men fit for die for and hold dear.

John Cleese, in one of his greatest movies, "Clockwise," aftera  thousand missed trains and last-moment disappointments, says:
