....about politics in the "New Senate Majority" thread, can we all please take a moment to realize that tomorrow is Veterans Day?

Whatever your preferences were, I'm sure you all voiced them at the ballot box.  The fact that you were able to do so has been made possible in a very large measure by the men & women of our armed forces, both past & present.  Slim & none are the chances that those with different political views or affiliations are going to change the mind of the other side or that agreement will be reached on anything significant.  But I would hope that you can at least recognize that our Vets have helped make it possible it possible for you to agree or disagree with our leadership without fear of anything more than the type of debating that took place in that particular thread & so many others like it in the past.

For at least a while, let's take a time-out from the all the other things to honor the courage & dedication of our Vets.  Perhaps everyone can agree on that?

Veterans, and for the most part, policemen. Now, before everybody gets their panties in a wad, 99.99% of cops are righteous. It's that one percent that screw things up. But anyway, thank (insert your deity here) for our Veterans.

For all of those of us who were so fortunate not to have had to serve in actual combat, I suggest we take a moment to reflect on our good fortune. Personally, I am buying meals at a homeless shelter for all veterans today.

.......I would just like to thank you, Greywolf, for your post, and all others for your sentiment.  If you value your freedom (however repressed by an anal government), at some point you really must thank the guys (and gals) that over the years have manned the walls, protecting what we have and love.
