Does mentioning being a TER member make a difference in level of service?

I just got a VIP membership and discovered that my mileage did vary considerably with one provider in particular. About a week ago I visited a different provider and from the get go i mentioned TER and got incredible service. Granted, these are different providers so little can be concluded from my extensive research, but has anyone else noticed this phenomenon?

will give better service knowing a review is probably coming.  On the other hand, I've talked to others that privately admit they hate seeing TER members because TER guys expect more service, and better service. Some don't want to be reviewed either.  It depends entirely on the lady.

Some ladies that are not TER reviewed, or are newbies, aren't aware of review sites like TER.

Lastly, I've heard complaints from ladies that some TER members threaten bad reviews if extra time, or service isn't given them.

are coming from. I provide a great service to all, as we can never have enough good regulars ;)

I'm fairly new at this and only a VIP member for the last month with just two posted reviews.  However, two ladies that I saw both commented that they love good reviews.  They actually brought the subject up.  Both said that after they receive a good review their business increases significantly.  Which leads one to believe they either do provide great service or once they discover you are a member they make sure to provide good service.  Either way I was happy on both occasions.  But to threaten a bad review in an attempt to gain better or longer service is just rude and will propogate the belief that we are all a bunch of jerks.  If it were done to a "legal" business owner it could probably be categorized as blackmail.  Too bad, but there are jerks everywhere and we all pay for it in some way.  Just my two cents.

In fact, I love the fact that TER guys want to see me, but I do not give them any better service. I'm always at 100 percent (or I try to be) for everyone. And . . . anyone who is cocky about being a member usually is someone I don't care to have revisit me. :)

Ciara

Unless someone PMs me on TER about seeing me I have no idea they are TER members....I'm with you Kelly....I treat everyone the same...the best I can!!

I give great service, but the only thing that could make it better, or make me go even another extra mile is a great guy.

A man who's friendly, respectful, polite, and just plain fun to be around always gets the best of the best.   And trust me, if the lady you are with is enjoying herself, you'll be enjoying yourself even more.

HG

And AFAIK absolutely true.  I'ver never had an escort give a hoot if I was affiliated with TER or any other site.  But they all seem to respond just fine to being treated with respect and being shown a nice time.

. . . so she could maybe give her some idea about you.

Three problems though: 1) she might not like TER; 2)She has no way to verify the handle you give is yours, so she should ignore it; 3) If you've written some bad reviews, you might scare her off.

Why would a man care if a woman didn't like the  bad reviews he has written?  He can always just select another lady.  No big deal to the guy.

It sounds like he's saying that the woman may not want to see him if he's written a bad review in the past.

If you have a history of giving hard scores.

I guess I didn't say it very clearly, but I didn't misunderstand.

What I was trying to say is, why should a gentleman care if a lady doesn't want to see him because of the negative reviews he has given other women?

If the woman doesn't want to see a man who has given other ladies negative reviews, what's the big deal.  He can simply call another lady.

Which aren't reviewed, though there may be places to report them.

You think a woman would set up an appointment with a man and then NC/NS him because he has given other women negative reviews?  LOL

I don't know what kind of women you run into but I would never do that and most of the escorts I know would never do that.  If the negative reviews bothered them, they would decline the appointment, that's it.

Deliberately scheduling and to then NC/NS sounds silly and immature.  But I don't doubt there are silly immature women around so I'll take your word for it.

No, it's neither professional, nor good, but providers vary in professionalism and goodness, like any group.

It might not even be malicious when it happens. She might make the appointment in good faith and just get cold feet. That could happen to good people. After that, what does she tell the guy? Having to face a job evaluation is a lot of stress, many of us don't have to do that every time we go to the office.

It's generally a good idea for a guy to put his handle under wraps; unless you're like Mr. Fisher, and have a lot of reason to be proud of what you've done and written.

You make a very good point zinaval.  But I'm sorry that some men feel it's better to hide their fake identity than reveal themselves.

In a more perfect hobby, men would stand behind what they write, not be afraid of who knows it's them and give the woman a fair chance to decline seeing someone they might find offensive (assuming the guy is hiding because women wouldn't want to see him if they knew who he was).

I would want to know. I'd never want to meet any man so embarrased or ashamed of what he wrote on a review board that he hides his fake ID. I guess that's one reason we ask for references.

It's impossible to know it's really his. No verification possible. Though he wouldn't use an identity that had one stinking review after another; that wouldn't be the problem.

I've also heard from a blog of a guy who came in for a session with a lot of self-importance about his "handle" and acted like he invented the hobby, taking an inspector general's attitude.

Thank you :D

It's sad that there are so many bizare men and women in the hobby.  You keep coming up with a lot of strange scenarios.  Luckily I don't have those problems.  So far I've been able to avoid such people and I've mostly met great men in the hobby.

Reviews and references are ways we all try to avoid these people. Trust me you get what you put out in the hobby.  Like has a way of attracting like.

I've met so many very good people since I've been in.

Why would I want to settle for another if I have my heart set on you?

I don't know about other guys, but I do sort of get fixated on a certain provider sometimes and it's indeed diappointing, if not down right painful, if you don't get to see them.

We men can be like that sometimes.

It definitely does make a difference to me.  When you say you are a member of TER or MFP I am instantly put at ease and realize I am with someone who has a  basic understanding of this "community".  I feel that you guys carry yourselves in a manner bespeaking your happiness at being a part of the community.  I most definitely "light up" a little bit more when I am with one of you TER or MFP guys.
I always ask, "where did you find out about me?" and I always hope to hear..  TER or MFP.
It doesn't have anything to do with the reviews as I don't have too many anyway.  But it does have to do with the fact that you may have read some of my posts or posts by other providers. It does tell me that you are interested in doing some research before you seek a provider out. It tells me that you put some effort into your hobby.
And if you have any problems I know that you have a great resource to go to.  I like it that the old hands on here are very good at guiding the newbies and I always feel as though you more experienced guys do truly understand the providers and "care" about us, our happiness, our safety, and our joy in doing what we do.

So, yes!  You will notice a difference in my service if you come from TER or MFP.  I know that if you come from here, you are a step above the rest of the guys out there.  You are more selective.  You are more interested in the quality of your time spent and I definitely appreciate that.
I hope this doesn't offend anybody, but this is how I feel.

mfp?  whats that?  i googled it and got multifunctional printers and other esoteria (new word?)

I have little way of knowing if there has been any difference in the experience itself, though my experience is generally in line with my expectations (including those times when I knew I was taking a chance).
There have been a couple of times when mentioning TER greased the wheels in getting an appointment.  I frequently mention my handle when making an appontment request and invite her to PM me here to verify that it is indeed me.  My posting history, reviewing history, and white list is often enough to get me a foot in the door without further verification.
Admittedly it has bitten me in the ass, but in general the pros outweigh the cons for me.

but, whenever I have contacted a new lady I have always made a point to let them know my TER name.
It gives them an oportunity to get to know a bit about me before we meet, by reading some of my posts and the comments of others.
I don't expect any better treatment, but, if you can create a "relationship" on the boards by bantering back and forth with each other, it can make meeting each other that much more special.

I have not seen anyone who was not on TER so my experiences are a bit biased.

Just my opinion...
B

I treat everyone equal providing they are respectful and courteous.  It shouldn't (and doesn't) matter if they are members of TER or not.

It doesn't make any difference to me.  I try to make my level of service consistant no matter whom I see.

On the rare occasions when I've received crappy service from TER reviewed providers, they didn't know I was a TER member. They might have been better had they known, I really don't know.

When they do know ahead of time, I've always been happy with the service. No extra "services" that they don't do normally though. I've heard other guys make that claim. I think I may have gotten extra time from a few that I probably wouldn't have otherwise.

I feel more comfortable in that if the guy is a TER member, he clearly cares about the hobbying community and his safety through discussion, reviews, etc. and that makes me feel safer. Also, most TER guys seem to know more about proper procedure and screening, which makes things go much more smoothly. And finally, I like being able to check his posts and reviews to get an idea of his likes/dislikes and personality- I don't always do this but when I can it is a great help in terms of making the session more individualized.

That said, I don't intentionally give more or better service because of TER membership, although I do offer I discount to encourage it.
