I realize that there are some actual stars that have done a good number of films and have guys fantasizing (sp?) over them. However the vast majority of these "porn stars" are far from famous despite the fact that they have been in a couple of films or magazines. So I don't really get why guys still pay crazy money for them.
If you are asking if they do something special? I would venture to say their technique is no more advanced than many non-film star providers.
It is all simple economics. It is what the market will pay.
I would guess their participation in the adult film industry adds to the fantasy of those who pay.
Do I agree with it? Well if they can get it, get it!
A bently (Film star)is still a car (provider), but the idea or fantasy of value or exclusivity is what justifies the cost.

I've seen many very famous porn stars, and, for me, it's just a fantasy thing. The sex with them is just like with other women. Some amazing, some very good, and, occasionally, just good....I never get terrible...thank God.
I don't watch porn hardly ever these days, but back in the day, I did a lot, and having sex with Nina Hartley or Keisha or Anna Malle, after having seen them so much sexually, was a thrill...an added dimension to the whole event.
I was in Paris recently, and saw a billboard with a porn star on it that I had had sex with. Maybe it's a bit shallow, but that felt cool. My theory is pretty simple. You're born. You die. In the middle, kick maximim ass. For me, seeing the most wonderful women on earth is part of that, and many of them are porn stars.
That's why I see 'em.

I have had one PS, and while it was fantastic time, in all due respect to PS providers, it should have been a fantastic time for the money paid. I say, use half the money for a PS and go to Brazil or Venezuela. Then for a C Note you can have a PS experience from the lands that produces many Miss Universes.
Thats funny I have been doing that exact thing in costa rica and now colombia. Have you tried these places? And, if so how do they compare with brazil and venezuela.
My friends tell me the Ticas are quite wonderful. I have never been, but I believe the Brazilian and Venezuelan women to be very uninhibited. And the price is definitely right.
...usually about 1k and that's about it.

I have never understood the $1200/hr PSE thing. Although, I have considered seeing a few that I had really enjoyed, the terms were more like $500 for an hour or $800 for 2 hours, NOT the astronomical numbers I see being thrown around.

which is one of the main reasons that I'm not into porn stars. I MUCH prefer a natural set of B or C cups.
This is why the porn business is so decentralized now. Once the talent pool increased, it became obvious that the "name" stars were mostly creations of marketing effort, and that any gal had the *possibility* of walking on to a set and rocking the house as well as the best name stars, for a lot smaller of a payout.
The same concept applies with providers. There are some porn stars that deserve the hype, and for some hobbyists, the experience is siginificantly heightened by being with someone who has had her 15 minutes of fame. Many, many people have a fixation for celebrity. However, it is unlikely that if you aren't into the cult of celebrity that a date with a porn star would be any better than one with any highly rated provider. Additionally, what people see in porn movies often is highly edited. Porn stars are just regular women when they walk off the set.
Many hobbyists don't to be conceived as perverts by ladies hence those sort of questions are rarely asked even though it might be one of their strongest fantasies.
Quite often when I read messages in PS board, questions about taping come up from time to time. At least with PSs, they won't get offended by questions like taping, Anal, Asian, CIM, facial or DPs.

whom I had seen multiple times would be met by looks of incredulity. Some ladies are downright hostile and easily offended when asked about the availibility of Greek or CIM. That is one of the major reasons why the detail and specific profiles/reviews in TER are highly valued compared to the more polite/generic ones in other review sites.

I was thinking about checking out Cynara Fox so that you will have better idea what sort of services she provided. Unfortunately, I spent way too much with a bunch European models last year. Someone else has to check her out instead.

I am just a regular guy who went girl crazy a few months in the last couple of years. Many people can do what I did, except that they are not as frank or so addicted to sex

I've had one PSE and I was lucky; It was fabulous. In fact she opened my eyes to the hobby & told me about TER. I've also read reviews where a guys PSE was less than spectacular leaving him wishing he had saved his money. If you are made of money and dropping $1000 to $3000 for an hours pleasure doesn't bother you or your accountant then have at it. You may be lucky like me and have a great experience or you could walk away disappointed.
PSE or GFE it's all YMMV

Mostly it's just a realization of a fantasy thing. If you're a fan of her movies or have seen her dance at your local strip club then you tend to be more willing to fork over the green stuff.
I have seen two big name PSE's and two lesser known PSE's. The lesser knowns blew away (so to speak) the two bigger names.
That being said I would still gladly part with some major funds to see Anna Malle.
