Ok I realize that makes me look like some kind of asshole but hey man that's the game.  Don't hate the player hate the game.

Whether we like it or not this is an adversarial process.
Right on the first part, wrong on the second.

The best deals--in this or any business--are NOT adversarial becuse the best occur when it is NOT a zero sum game.  But that requires a whole lot better attitude than you display here.

TER has made this a much better place for both parties to what is basically a business transaction. Everyone knows what to charge/pay for services, looks, etc. (unlike wall street). If you do your homework you can "invest" into any market that will make you a happy camper. If you do your homework and check with other market participants you will most likely get what you paid for. And get screwed in a good way.

If you do a search of his posts...you'll find that this backwoods jagoff has a history of popping up once in a great while, spouting dumb crap, getting everyone fired up, then disappearing again.

It's bad enough that people give him air time by responding to his drivel...but we don't need to inflate his inbred ego by dedicating new posts to his stupidity.

Just a thought.

in the financial markets (which is where I earn my living).  Price transparency is VERY BAD (she is a very bad girl, in fact she is downright naughty).  If everyone knows the value of an asset how can you possibly make money? (well there is a way but it involves selling the information - TER, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, etc.)

The name of the game is to buy low and sell high -  this metaphor is relative but at the end of the day it remains true.

Therefore, as a Hobbyist (and the rest of you guys as well) you DON'T want price transparency.  If you can get a Provider who is a 10 in looks and a 10 in service for the price of a 5/5 WHY WOULDN'T YOU DO IT!!!  And let's not play some bullshit game on this board.  You know you would gladly pay less for more.  And Providers know it as well (Why do some of them run "specials"?  Do they think of you as charity?)

Ok I realize that makes me look like some kind of asshole but hey man that's the game.  Don't hate the player hate the game.

Whether we like it or not this is an adversarial process.  You are out to get the best (i.e., looks, service, price, etc.)  The Provider is out to get the most (i.e, money, extended sessions, etc).  These two things can mutually exist but one will ALWAYS rule over the other.  Always.  AND the Providers now rule because of information transparency.

Just Sayin............................

I disagree. We have what they need. $$$$  They have what we want. Pussy. With a well informed market we can shop and compare and if we don't like what we see we go to another provider or not buy at all.

And yet, there are still lots of guys making lots of money.  Transparency doesn't eliminate arbitrage, but it does make it harder for the average, mediocre guy on Wall Street to make money.

With the Tiger Global fund up, what, over 22% for the year, someone is making some killer money now.

Don't hate the game if you're a mediocre player.  Some of us still can find the good ones at below-market pricing.

And, who says price transparency is bad? 20 yrs ago if I wanted to buy a new car, I had to go into dealership and dick around with some sales guy for hrs upon hrs while he, and the entire sales team schemed, connived and flat-out lied to me in an attempted to get me to pay as much as possible for that new car.

Today, if I want to buy a new car, I know exactly what that new car is worth on the market. And, depending on demand for the particular car I want, that price may be below, at, or above MSRP. If I want the latest model of a car that is in high demand, with limited availability, my only option may be to pay the current market value---even if that is well above MSRP. Because the dealership and I both know that if I walk out the door, someone else will pay.

OTOH, if the market value of the car I want is below the price point at which the dealer is trying to sell it, if the dealership is not willing to write up the paperwork for the price I’m willing to pay right then, on the spot, another dealership down the road will be. The dealership and I both know this as well.

This price transparency works both ways. It depends on what I want to buy, and how high the demand for that item is.

But what you seem to be missing here is that you’re not buying a car (or stocks, or a house, or a vacuum cleaner, or building materials, or….). You’re buying time with a human being. Did you get that part? You are not *buying a human being*. You are buying a service from that human being.

You are paying for a personal, individualized service. You are asking a living breathing woman to take you, a complete stranger, and actually fuck you---in a  whole different way than you used to able to get fucked at car a dealership.

Now, it’s abundantly clear there’s no shortage of men like you who would fuck a fence post for a bargain basement price. But a fence post doesn’t care who fucks it. The fence post can take a beating 24/7/365---line those guys up around the corner. Hose it off now and again.

OTOH, if you would like to spend time with an actual living breathing woman, that woman not only can, but absolutely should be the one to set, what she feels is, a fair price for her service. So, yes, she does hold the power in this regard---as she should---it’s her body. It’s her choice to offer it to you for a price that SHE feels is fair. And since she is a human being, with a unique personality, needs, and individual motivations for offering her service in the first place the price she sets may, or may not have anything to do with the market. Or anything to do with what you think you should be able to pay.

But whatever the price, if you don’t like it, you don’t have to pay it. This isn’t food, or electricity, or medical services. You have every right to look for a price you do like. And if that price happens to fit your criteria for buying “low”, but for whatever reason, she is in a bad spot charging less than she feels is fair, she may be so disengaged from that service that you may as well be fucking a fence post.

And remember: Rosey Palm is always free. You can’t beat that price.
