CL is the destination for murder, I'd say you are over generalizing. People use the internet for all kinds of hook-ups and this was one IMHO was unrelated to the hobby. Now, in the nature of this biz and now that the market seems flooded with all kinds of providers, many it seems who are bound and determined to do very little or nothing to take your "roses." There is a tragedy somewhere in this and too bad somebody will get hurt or worse because a lack of judgment, a misunderstanding, or some bold ass attempt to get something for nothing... you get the drift... Let's face it, some crazy motherfuckers are walking the planet and it takes very little as in the related link to ruin someone's day and someone's family for a lifetime. Until then, let's not play to the hysteria. A guy was arrested here in Chicago because he a grown man (from Georgia) talked a teenager into meeting him and lucky for her, a passerby smelled rotten fish. So there will be heroes and victims and that is the state of life in the world today. Let's not over-generalize a thing so as to say, "I told you so."

Apparently not hobby related.  There was a segment on the Greta Van Susteran show on Fox News this evening about this story.  Apparently, the woman in question, a college student, was looking for work as a nanny.  No mention of CL Erotic Services made.  Still, just goes to show that shady characters are found elsewhere on CL as well, and one can conclude that this will only attract more LE attention going forward...

No, she was NOT a provider.  He forced her to work the streets and when she didnt bring home enough $ he beat the hell out of her.

Yes.  This is another "pimp" issue.  Not a fallen provider issue.  Her only issue was she couldnt/wouldnt get away from him and now...I suppose she is.

Sad.  Sad.  Sad.

Next time anyone wants to defend a pimp, anytime any provider posts and defend's a pimp.......think abou this.  THIS could be YOU!

So you are saying that the MSNBC report is bogus and her pimp killed her?  Please elaborate.

Just sending a little warning or reminder that it can be dangerous out there when using networks that aren't "managed."  I call TER a "managed network."

While we don't know one another in real life (well, not most) we share the same goal - hobby, and that consistent feedback is a nice safety net.

We all know that CL is full of what life is full off...nice people, not so nice people and a very few but dangerous people.

A lot of posts here are only titillating little snipets of our hobbying life.

My post was a little "shout" of Hey, don't forget that CL posts some risks."   As we're all fond of saying at the end:  YMMV

Amen.
