I don't think "addictions" to music, readings ... etc as addictions; because, those are good things (never too much). In general, paying money for something harmful qualifies as "addictions".
Sex is not clear to me as far as being "harmful" ... maybe we can exchange some views for the sake of discussions -- that would clarify whether liking sex as an "addiction". I do know, however, most people are dishonest about sex -- naturally hypocritical: everyone loves sex, but everyone tells others it should be illegal.
"One addiction indicates a bad person of multiple addictions" -- I'm not sure agree with that.
especially the gentlemen? How about
other addictions? The addiction center
within the brain clearly makes claim
that if you have one addiction you are
destined to have another within your
lifetime. I live with a gambling addict,
and boy does he love to get laid. An
addiction? I don't know but addiction
studies sure make me wonder.

Anything that triggers the brain's 'reward centers' and is somewhat unpredictable in the payoff is strongly addictive. Same brain biology no matter what the rewarding behavior might be. Naltrexone, for example, is often used to treat alcohol/drug addiction, and has also shown effectiveness for sex addiction.
But it's not an addiction unless it is uncontrollable and unhealthy. As long as a sex service client can afford his 'hobby', and engages in it without harm to work productivity or important relationships, I don't think there's a problem. Same on the provider side: If she/he does sex work merely as work, and not as some destructive cycle or compulsion to bolster self-esteem or something like that, I think it's fine.
Go ask the Love Goddess on 'The Erotic Highway' board too. This is her territory.
P.S. Your link doesn't work as is. Here is the working URL:

Can you provide a link to that board? Thanxs!

I did and still can't find it. Can you help a guy out with a link? lol
OK, I just didn't scroll down enough...d'oh!
an addition to drinking, pussy (ie pleasure), music and sports. As I get older and more set in my ways, I find that eating certain foods, rituals of what I do at work, what I do when I get home, how and when I fall asleep. It becomes more of a habit than an addiction and not having anyone around to say "that's stupid", I'm fine with it.
...at least for myself. I'm addicted to sex and to porn. I've finally come to terms with it and accepted it. In fact, I don't even want to change. I have a strong sex drive and that's just the way I'm wired. Why in the world would I want to cure myself? Especially since it doesn't really affect anyone else in a negative way. I also have a hard time staying away from food that I love, even when it's not good for me. But I compensate by working out a lot, taking a variety of drugs and supplements and, as a result, I'm quite healthy. I'd love to smoke cigarettes but I don't do it. I wouldn't mind doing cocaine again but I stay away from it, mainly because I hate the crash. I drink too much, but only at night and never during the day. So I figure I could be one hell of a lot worse. I don't try to be perfect. So, yes, I do have some addictive behaviors but not to the point of self destruction and that's OK with me.

It is just a trendy tag that is making the psycho-babble professionals a lot of money. If a married couple has sex 5 times a day, no one says they are addicts. If a guy sees an escort 2-3 times a month, he must have an addiction. Nonsense. Does a guy's brain go haywire and cause his body to shake when he doesn't get sex? Of course not. Does the same happen if he goes cold turkey to quit cigarettes? You bet. THAT is an addiction.
I agree it's become a trendy cop-out and not like cigs or crack. But when any behavior becomes compulsive and self-destructive it does take on aspects of an addiction. Notice I said "aspects."
I consider it heaven myself, just wondering what others think.
I will concede that it "might" be compulsive, but I refuse to believe that sex with beautiful women is self destructive, not to me at least. Now marriage, THAT'S self destructive IMO. lmao
and I only hobby twice a day while on vaction, I try to keep it down to about 5 times a week during the rest of the year.
Paradise on Earth ! Just as long as you have a lifetime supply of Viagra.
I wouldn't mind finding something that would allow me to finish three or four times a day, like the "good old days" of only a couple of years ago. lol
The only way I know of to do that is to stay well hydrated, avoid alcohol, get plenty of rest...... I'm sure you get the point, NO FUCKING WAY. I'd rather be a drunk that still gets it twice a day, than a health nut who is bored out of his tree.
Disclaimer, that type of lifestyle works, and is actually admirable for others, just not for me.
