It seems ironic that my new ‘hobby’ was the best part of 2008 (or many other years, for that matter). Ironic since I am now part of a subculture that can only be shared with one another, yet there are aspects of this community more honest, humane and respectful than the culture at large.
There were plenty of negative encounters during my work in the mainstream, legal, retail sector with self-absorbed, spoiled and self-righteous customers, yet only positive experiences (although several funny ‘malfunctions’) in this secret world with sexy, exciting, intelligent, hard-working, strong women and mostly ‘normal’ guys, who seem to love and respect them.
I’m sometimes naïve, but not so much so that I overlook problems in this ‘industry’ like those exposed (pardon the word choice!) in CL, agencies and elsewhere. I wonder, though, if many could be remedied by legalization. The status quo seems more to ‘protect and serve’ hypocrisy.
This is a unique arena where male fantasy collides with female business reality, actors and audiences not only intermingle; they are intimate! It’s sexy, exciting and intoxicating for a guy, but with luck and reciprocal effort on our part, hopefully often for the gal, too. And perhaps it’s not surprising that, despite a necessary ‘professional distance’ we sometimes get a personal glimpse instead of just getting to see (touch, feel, enter!) your person. So, while I’ll certainly treasure the sex (mmmm, yes, yes, yes!); I think I will equally remember hearing about the families and children, the ‘other jobs’, common interests, or past loves. My first year fun will include the funny, like CDs skipping, glasses flying, or the cough that expelled me; all just at that certain moment! Or, at the risk of TMI, laughing at my own inadequacies like ‘arriving’ early just when things were getting good; all part of the human condition and unexpectedness that’s part of life and may keep me humble. Finally, I’ll remember the sweetness- getting flowers from a beautiful woman because she was late to come fulfill my fantasy (and then even trying, to no avail, to give back some of her donation!); the lovely lady who thanked me for treating her like a ‘queen’ after she had made me feel like a ‘king’; the GFE welcome I got despite getting lost and being a ½ hr late.
My holiday toast to those who’ve given of yourself to me- I thank you and wish you holiday cheer and good will, as well as a healthy, fun and safe new year. ‘Til auld acquaintance meet again!
