Yeah, yeah, I know...as LG would say, "it's a fucking business".  I keep that in the back of my mind most times.

Recently, I had an appointment scheduled with my ATF, whom I see regularly.  I received a call that I was dreading: my grandmother of 97 years had passed, and the funeral was Thursday, the same day of my appointment, and it was 5 hours away.  I was asked to give the eulogy.

I immediately sent a text to her, telling her of the situation, and I would have to cancel.  

"It's OK, I understand," came back.  

I drove up the night before, had dinner with relatives, and retired for the night.  The next morning, I got up, and saw this text on my phone:

"Thinking of you on this difficult day.  I'm sure you have a very nice eulogy prepared.  Give it strongly, as I know you can, and remember the good life she had.  She's now with your grandfather, so she is happy!"

I smiled as I read it.  It did help that day.  She didn't have to do that, but I'm glad she did.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know...it's a fucking business.  But sometimes, it seems much less so.

It is a business-the part where you pay her for sex that is.  Beyond that we are all human and different people will have different interactions with each other. What your ATF did was very sweet.

I think you meant it is a "whole lot more?" I'd say. Your ATF probably had a great upbringing and despite what some people would claim about her profession, she's likely a real sweetheart. She's a keeper my friend. Sorry for your loss!

I have always wanted to believe that human kindness can also be good business, and this helps me to restore that feeling.

I realize that I'm pretty new to this, but the few girls that I've met have impressed me as being very human and down to earth. I know that there is probably a lot of inconsistancy regarding the people in the hobby on both sides.  I want to believe there are more nice providers, and hobbyists than not.  Somehow your story does not surprise me, but I do think it's very nice for her to go that extra step in your time of need.  I think it reinforces the need for us all to be respectful and kind to each other in all aspects of our experiences.

It's a business of personal service, and the better service oriented businesses do care about their customers.

Having recently lost my grandmother of 105, I can only offer that the memories and the impact of a life lived long and well, live on through all of those who knew her. All the best to you and your family and friends of the family.

I met the first provider I ever saw by referral. (She is well retired now and in another country.)

When I got in touch with her, we emailed back and forth about some stuff; and I never broached the topic of prostitution and neither did she. During her day job she was a forensic psychiatrist. MD and JD. She had mentioned to me that she needed some specialized software. I had some slack at the time; and I often just do good deeds for people, so I just wrote it for her for free. From all our interaction I was dead certain that the friend who had referred me to her was wrong about her being a prostitute.

Well, at some point the topic turns, jokingly, to when the last time was I had been laid. I tell her 4 years. She says she'd be happy to take care of that for a fee -- we agree to $300. So I start seeing her about 6 times a year and that's all of my hobbying except for us chatting in between and me helping her with some networking issue or something here and there.

At some point it had been a while since I scheduled to see her, so she just called to ask why. Well, at that time, my wife had really gotten bad. I couldn't even get her to a therapist or anything. She was begging to be carted off to the loony bin. So I explain what was going on and that there was no way I could book for the foreseeable future because I was really needed at home.

Guess what that woman does? She comes to my house, stays in my guest room, works intensively with my wife so she's stable enough I can at least start getting her back and forth to regular therapy, teaches me all kinds of stuff to help her and the whole nine yards.

Guess what she charged me for that? Little miss "it's only about money" charged me NOTHING. Not one dime. I couldn't get any shrinks or therapists to come to my home. None made housecalls. The only alternative they would recommend was to further traumatize her by hauling her off in an ambulance. But THIS woman, this provider, did what nobody else would and quite literally saved my wife from a worst-case-scenario situation. For free.

So much for "it's all about the money." Evidently this woman never met LG.

She and I are still in touch. Wonderful woman.
