I actually could not even attempt to make a check list of all one has to endure physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, but will say your list is just the basic observation of someone who is NOT a hooker lol.

Break ups and relationship issues happen anyway. In Western countries such as The Netherlands, and Germany,  where prostitution is legalized, not everyone breaks up with their SOs because of prostitution.  So if prostitution is legalized in US, you are not going to see a huge surge in divorces.  Married people who see hookers right now, will still sneak around their SO's backs and see hookers whether you legalize it not.  If you are single, the legal status as pertaining to your question doesn't matter.

People do associate lot of hookers with illegal drugs even right now. There is some truth to it. Not every hooker is a drug addict or alcoholic, but there are quite a few that party hard and live very recklessly. Not sure what your point is.

STDs spread through prostitution can be controlled if there is a proper testing for prostitutes.  Germany does a great job of this in their FKK clubs. I have visited FKK and talked with their management. They told me that it's a law in Germany where all the prostitutes have to get tested a few times year. So, if prostitution is legalized, spread of STDs an actually be controlled and reduced..

PRO....
If states start to legalize prostitution, then that would be one right step in the progressive movement in our country. There is a progressive movement going on in our country right now, you see. Its not as vocal as the Tea Party movement, but its there.  With ballot initiatives legalizing Marijuana in two states and gay/lesbian marriages in three states, this could be the next step. and rightly so.

I don't now where you live, but if you live in a blue state, don't be surprised if there is a ballot initiative to legalize prostitution in next few years.

Break ups:

If the husband/wife were taking care of their SO, there probably wouldn't be a reason for the other to stray to use a prostitute. But at least with a prostitute there isn't the emotional connection, it's just sex.

Drug use amongst providers:

I know it happens and when/if I see a provider that I'm convinced is abusing drugs it's the last time I see her. I don't like to be an enabler.

making prostitution legal:

I wish it were possible. But you know the religous groups want to impose their integrity on everyone else so I doubt that will happen.

the women that are here (TER) are not the streetwalkers that are likely to have more diseases than that monkey on outbreak. LOL

The ladies that are here run a business where they are in control of who they see and when they see them and don't have to answer to anyone or turn in a record of who they have seen. If prostitution were legalized, would you go knowing that your name could be part of a public record?

I support the small independent business that these providers run, and hope that they are taking care of themselves, for the benefit of all involved. So ladies keep up the good work, and stay clean in this dirty job. Dirty in the naughty sense of course!

Just because the guys are happy at home doesn't mean they wouldn't go to hookers...

Yes, a lot of guys are deprived of sex at home, but there are quite a few who go to hookers because of variety, and there is nothing wrong with that... Monogamy, is against nature....Its simple. Guys get tired of the same pussy over and over again..

This side of my life has nothing to do with my SO. I fulfill my sexual needs with the hobby, but otherwise, I'm committed to our relationship. Illegality doesn't deter me from doing what I'm inclined to do.

STD's worry me. I often see the possibility minimized on these boards, and don't really agree. I'm not kidding myself, I know that there are infected providers and hobbyists out there. I don't think everybody gets tested as frequently as they claim, either. There was a link posted a few threads back, checkmymate.org. If it becomes a viable hobby resource, it could possibly do some good. No experience with it yet, but I'd definitely use it if I see women participating.

I'm divorced and I never did cheat while married, but I'll never be married again because I do enjoy the variety of pussy. In fact I really don't have a need for a SO at all. I don't have to listen to BS, or act like I care how her day was and I know exactly what provider's motives are. I go golfing or whatever I want to do when I want to. And, when I want to get laid I hobby. You can take what you want from my post and try to twist it any way you'd like, but remember my post even has a subject note of "my opinions". So you're wrong i'm not naive, I'm simply opinionated.

comfortable with the concept of testing, and see it as a panacea for all the things that could go wrong. Testing is NOT prophylactic. It only says that when you got tested, you either 1. were not infected, or 2. if you were infected, it hasn't shown up on a test yet. It's pretty useless as a preventative. It is only useful as personal maintenance- and has no implications for anyone else you may be involved with* until you get a positive for something. It would be ridiculous to think it could actually do some good: it is not protection from anything at all. But "requiring" it for "legalization" is as much a feel-good measure as not allowing me to carry my 4 oz tube of toothpaste with me on an airplane. Neither makes much sense, but it seems to make simple people feel better. And since there are a lot of simple people out there, the folklore continues.

Regarding STDs and working: Someone pointed out to me once a study that the CDC did that proved that prostitutes were far less likely to be infected with an STD than a civilian sexually active person. Think about it: we work with our bodies and as such depend on them to feed ourselves and keep a roof over our heads. You can be reasonably assured that the majority of us will take care of them- at work or otherwise- by employing safer sex practices, and keeping up with our sexual health education. For civilian people, however it's a different story. They get drunk and have unprotected sex all the time, and are less likely to be educated on sexual health or the concept of safer sex.

Regarding legalization: I really don't know many ladies who would sign up to be a card-carrying sexual service provider. Those that would are probably already in Vegas. ;) So you will still have the illegal/underground part, but you would have more laws to enforce, more ways to break laws, more ways to become criminals.

*Unless you are with someone in a committed relationship, the commitment part of which is somehow able to be proven, and you both get tested every three months for one year, with a clean slate each time. Then you can be reasonably sure neither of you has anything at that point. But that relies on the continued fidelity of each of you- which can never truly be proven unless you have a PI on hire continually. lol! Trusting does not make it fact.

What are you looking for here? I don't think there's more than a razor-thin shred of truth in anything you have said, anyway.

How is the potential for tax revenue a pro of prostitution? Ladies don't have to pay taxes on a nickel of this money if they don't want to - PUT DOWN YOUR PENS, ladies, I know that many of you do pay your taxes, I'm just saying that you don't have to, and many don't. As to the happier population deal, have you READ some of the posts around here? If these guys are happy, I'd hate to see them sad. It's a pro because it has been around? Dysentery has been around, what's your point there?

On the other hand, if a guy is seeing prostitutes because things are bad at home, then it's not the prostitute but the home situation that causes the break-up. And anyway, technically it's not the prostitution but the getting caught that matters. May be associated with other illegal activities? That's a problem with the other activities and those that make the association. If a car is used to make a getaway after robbing a bank, does that make a negative association with driving? It's a "maybe" anyway, as someone else posted, streetwalkers might be associated with heavy drugs and street crime, strippers might be associated with party drugs, but the kind of ladies that hang around here are not necessarily associated with any other illegal activities.

And last but not least, promiscuous sex without protection contributes to the spread of STDs. That behavior is not consistent with the majority of the activity around here.

I could be wrong, but I don't think that I am. You need to go back to the drawing board.

The I R S is going to pay more attention to those who don't pay their taxes and we do have to be able to show an income when we purchase a home or a car, et cetera.  Please don't give out bad advice to the ladies like this.

Interesting point raised by SS.   If prostitution is legalized and a license is required as it is in Europe, as well as, a data base for recording a test had been past at the appropriate time. How many prostitutes would register?

How many providers go to extreme extents to protect there identity now?  Is that just from LE. I don't think so.   There are many reasons.  One is the stigma, another is their families finding out. Being stalked because of a database that can be hacked and many more not to register.

Amsterdam has the lowest prices for prostitutes in  Europe. In part, because it is the best known place for legalized prostitution, which drew in girls from all over the country and Europe. The supply increased faster than demand prices nose dived.  If CA were to legalize prostitution, would it's weather and legal prostitution cause a large increase of providers from the rest of the country?  Would that lower prices?  Does legalizing prostitution benefit many providers?

Do the Pros really want to be coned into this?  Or is this a con?

PRO: You are taken to orgasm by an expert (if all goes well)

CON: You need high-paying work indeed to get your mind-blowing orgasm every day.

I don't think most of the providers who post here are truly prostitutes, if prostitution means giving up all choice to earn the money. I don't think I would want to see one of those, the real victims.

As for laws, I think two things should happen: remove all laws from P4P but make it a self-governing institution. Then of course we'd have the risk of corruption to deal with.

My question is simple:  what is your point about posting this?  What do you expect to get in the way of responces?

As to your items, you are overly simplistic and most your points are wrong (or at least imcomplete & misleading):
=====================
Pros:

- Economic activities and a potential source of tax revenue. ---- most the smart ones pay taes already

- Happier population for those who participate. ---- again, does this change if legalized?

- Has been around since ancient times and across all cultures.  ---- a fact; not a pro or con.

Cons:

- May cause family/relationship breakups.  ---- not likely; see Gen Patraeus

- Maybe associated with other illegal activities when criminalized.  ---- shoot the pimps, leave the ladies alone

- May contribute to the spread of STDs. ---- probably less than amature sex does

I'd sure as hell rather be with a girl who was tested within the last month, and clean, than one whose status I don't know.

I do completely agree with your point that testing isn't a 100% guarantee. Incubation periods, and the sheer number of partners in a short time make that impossible. But is the alternative better? We just can't ask? And therefore providers and hobbyists CAN be infected with something, and still play.

I understand where you're coming from with the TSA/tube of toothpaste comparison. But those measures are in place for a reason - because a tube of toothpaste can really be used to make a weapon. So wouldn't you rather the extra protection, rather than not having it? That's why you screen, no? That's not a cure-all either, and largely a feel-good measure - didn't the Craigslist killer have references? But you still do it, and for a very good reason.

If a girl is tested, it shows me that 1)At some fairly recent time (taking into account incubation periods during the time she was tested), she was not infected with anything, long-term infections like herpes and AIDS included, and 2) She takes good enough care of her body that she is fine with being tested every month.

I'd like to see the CDC article you mentioned. If they do keep stats of providers - it would necessarily be of LEGAL providers, who are TESTED. I bet the girls we see (the underground) weren't part of that sample group. Also, remember that women who get STD's aren't required to stop working in this venue (I think that actually makes them more likely to take risks than women who need to stay clean to have licenses, but that's another story).

Frankly, it's a little disturbing to me to hear ladies I respect voice opposition to regular testing. It plays into my fears. I do understand where you're coming from - but just because something doesn't render you 100% safe, doesn't mean that it won't help significantly. I'd think that anybody would want to have more tools at their disposal, when health and safety is concerned. And maybe if it can't be a license that's on public record, it could be something else. This industry largely policies itself with the use of sites like date-check, p411, TER, etc.

For the record, I think that hobbyists should be tested, too. So I'm not just picking on the girls. And yes, I always use condoms, but I still don't want to have sex with someone with herpes, AIDS (or anything else, for that matter).

If you have a mortgage, you're paying taxes or how the hell would you have credit to get a home loan to begin with? I have always paid taxes in some form or another just to show I am a working citizen putting back into the system. I know that by the time I hit my senior years SS will be long gone, but it is about credibility. When I paid for my last vehicle, I bought it cash and there were no red flags just yet. I will admit to being audited on one occasion and having my credit cards frozen, but my Attorney said I had nothing to worry about and he was correct.

It also had nothing to do with money made here but a settlement that I assumed I did not have to claim taxes on, because it was personal injury and medical expenses. I did not even think about asking my CPA, until it was too late. Live and learn, but pay your taxes.

never will pay even a dime in taxes despite what they say on the boards about doing so? If you are some 18 year old who is renting an apt. and driving cars worth under 10k, I doubt you care about paying taxes. When you're a college student you are also bombarded with tons of credit card companies allowing you to spend insane amounts of money with NO income, and many do just that then file for bankruptcy.

In the underground arena, independent companies have stepped in to fill the void created by the lack of legal regulations. Maybe this site can become for STD's what date-check and p411 do for screening. I'd be more likely to book a girl using this site, if it becomes widely used.

It says they only accept medical records sent directly from a doctor's office or lab, and that the medical record must contain full legal name (that's from the faq page).

If you want to post results you need to give the site your full legal name (also from faq page). Then you are assigned a username by the site and that is how you are identified to others.

Edited to include: This is quoted from the site. Information they require you to have on file with them when you have test results sent in. "In this case, we will require full legal name, date of birth, and home address."

Your real name and identifying info are not displayed to the public. Clients can only see your username (their example is username13). How would a client connect that profile to your real name?

FWIW, I gave more information than that to Date-Check. And they had to call me at my office. I don't think this site has the same risk - what they do isn't illegal, and the site isn't really connected to the hobby. From what I see, anybody can use it, whether they are on match.com or theeroticreview.com.

I gave my fake username and profile to on a site that has my real name...no thanks. NO site has my real name including screening sites, and never will. I get that some of you guys have had to do that to see providers, but we providers do not have to do that same thing unless we want to join RS2K.

If I have to give my full name and in turn give guys I am illegally seeing that profile it connects to, it is still an added risk, but I am not saying it won't work for someone else. A negative test result means nothing unless you don't have sex for 3 to 6 months after being tested, so to me it is useless. I might go two weeks without seeing a new person, which makes a negative test result moot.  You should always assume anyone you see has the potential to give you something and protect yourself accordingly.

I get that my real name is not showing, but honey...I am sending a link from my hooker email to that profile. One can connect the dots if need be.

Trust me...I am not oblivious and assume the attitude that not getting tested is not worth the effort, because I do it for ME not for anyone else. What I said was the website is useless because once again it proves NOTHING!  You don't know how many guys she screwed or blew without a condom since her last test do you? Pretending because anyone shows you a test result means they are safe, is actually more scary because it shows how naive you are. Protect YOURSELF or don't bother hobbying. If you are THAT worried, then why do you get bbbj vs. cbj? That is a reality dear even if you want to pretend otherwise. So, if you were REALLY all that worried about bringing something home, you would not do ANYTHING unprotected.

No one is responsible for your heath but YOU, so if you buy that every provider who tests negative will stay that way just because you saw it on some website, you are seriously in danger as we speak. That is ludicrous! The ONLY way for that to be of any use to you is if she does not fk a guy 3 months after that test...good luck with finding a hooker that only sees one guy every 3 months lol. As much as I post on these boards, even I can get 2 guys a damn week.

Unless you know where she has been since that test you put so much faith in, you are in no more better shape than not knowing at all unless you put a condom on for even a kiss.  My last test results were negative for every possible disease they have a test for, but guess what...I had sex 3 times LAST week since that test. My negative result was only good until then, and until my next test.

If you think monthly or weekly testing is better, again..you're wrong because some shit won't even show up for months like HIV! You need to talk to someone in healthcare like I am, but maybe someone on the clinical side because your faux security here is just that...faux.

FYI, "a guy" would not be the one getting my identity from the site...it would be the damn cops putting two and two together if London Rayne ever got busted. Now you are actually scaring me lol. You might need to stick with the newbie board, because you are clueless about how easy it is for cops to connect any damn thing you send out via email back to you.

If my REAL name is on a site I am sending a link to over and over from my HOOKER account, duh...it is not rocket science. Why in hell would I be sending my clients to STD sites to prove I am clean if I am not fkin for money? Uh, yea. Kind of defeats the purpose of pretending we are getting paid only for time. Advising providers to start sending out links to STD results is just plain stupid, and puts us even more at risk. The guy should always assume he can catch something regardless of a test result and secure his OWN safeguards.

Another thing you miss is how easy it would be for a one provider to simply give her login info. to another provider and then she pass it along. Have you never heard of bait and swtich? Without a way to connect that profile back to the hooker you are seeing, you have no way of knowing if she was the one tested or if it was a friend of hers. Talking to a cop's kid here friend. You take way too many things for granted, when the one thing you should worry about is YOU and your wife. A website is not going to help you stay safe from any std, and that is a fact.

We both agree that there are no 100% guarantees that anybody in this realm is disease-free, no matter how recent the test. Unless, as you said, it has been 3-6 months and neither person has had other partners. Which doesn't happen here.

So here's my opinion. I'm not naive enough to think nothing can happen to me, no matter what it says on a website, license, or piece of paper. BUT - I'm cynical enough to see how easy it is for someone to become infected, and keep on providing (or hobbying). Knowing that someone is tested regularly and comes up clean (whether it was on a site here, or whether she has a license someplace where it's legal) - if that option is available to me, I will use it. Why? Think of the potential harm versus the potential gain. And yes, I'd prefer to play in a realm where we have to stay clean to play. I feel that it's just basic respect for everyone in this arena. So that's my opinion.

Maybe we'll just have to agree to disagree. Obviously, I touched a nerve.

I'm signing off on this thread. You'll put in the last word, I'm sure - I can see that about you.

because you felt the need to get stupid about it. You have ONE review of a well known BBBJ provider then want to preach about safety. I am not putting her down mind you, because I too am known for bbbj and cim. Why are you not only seeing cbj providers? Nuff said. Your paranoia contradicts your actions, but guys like you are usually that way.

Don't confuse you touching a nerve with you being ignorant of what you're talking about...you touched a nerve with people in healthcare who think you are insane to believe what you read on some website that has no way of knowing which hooker is passing out a link to test results that might not even be for HER! Don't get in a tizzy because someone points out how little sense you make, and even less the advice you are passing out to women who might not know any better...it is simply absurd! You are telling hookers to flat out admit they are having sex by promoting this website, and that too is stupid! How ELSE would they send their CLIENTS to the damn site, if they don't indirectly admit they are fkin them? Duh.

You will never have any way of knowing who gets tested and who does not, and your actions prove you are willing to take MORE risks than the next guy who claims he cares about his wife and what he brings home lol. Right.  That is my ONLY issue with your posts. You don't know what you're talking about as far as risks go, you then  risk yourself even MORE than other guys here by engaging in activities that some never dream of doing test or no test, and finally you promote a website that would bust just about every provider in the way she has to send the link to it to get what MIGHT be her results or her damn sister's lol.

So, do sign off because you have only made yourself look even more naive and clueless from the point you started out from. You are NOT protecting yourself to the degree you claim to want from the providers you see, and that is a FACT! WHEN you do that, you might have a platform to go preaching about what others should be doing.

If that site helps you sleep better by all means use it, but suggesting people in an illegal act admit that further by flat out saying, "Hey babe, here are my test results" is just fkin retarded. AGAIN, I am all for testing but doing so every 30 days is not going to do a damn thing. Every 90 days is the most suggested time period and for good reason. Most providers I know, get tested every 3 months but no..they don't feel the need TO BROADCAST the results over the worldwide web and then send the clients they are supposedly NOT fkin for money, to see them lol. Gosh.

I am a member. I didn't see this until now, but I'd like to give my opinion, as someone with experience of the site.

1. I would never tell anyone that it proves that I'm clean. In fact, when you click to see a person's profile, a big, bold message comes up - you must click click under that big bold message to sign off that you understand that you can still get a STD even when the person has a negative result for everything. Only then can you proceed. It's very clear. Yes, I still choose to provide that information. I want it to be known that I am responsible, and am willing to be held accountable for being a 'safe' companion to the best of my ability, while *still considering* window periods and the fact that I have multiple partners in between testing periods. No, negative results don't mean that I'm safe. But it says a lot about me that I am willing to do that, I think.

2.  I actually got locked out of my account for trying to log in with my kindle (too many devices). Anybody that uses the site has to log in a lot, and not just to view a report. I can't send someone a link to my profile. I have to log in, and issue them an "OK" to see my stuff. Or log in to approve a request they send me for an OK. Or log in to send them an email to log in or create an account and find me. There is no direct link to my info. So you have to log in a lot, even when you are not the one viewing a profile. They do NOT like it when multiple devices access an account. Still, I'm sure people could get around it, you're right and I have thought about that. But the thing is, I take the exact same precautions site or no site. So I don't assume I'm safer if I read something on there. Same way I use p411. I can verify a guy who has 40 OK's, I can email the last 5 girls he's seen to verify that he's nice. But he can still turn psycho and kill me. I screen HARD, but know that there are no guarantees.

3. As for it linking me to sexual activities - true, but I had the TER logo on my site. I looked on your site, and so do you. What's the difference? And are you planning to get busted anyway? If I ever am, I'd be in the same room as a cop and I'm dead meat, no matter what logos I have or don't have on my site. And having a site linking me to an STD report database proves less than having a direct link to my reviews, telling in detail exactly what I did with those men I'm not supposed to be fucking for money.

Not for nothing, but you didn't even read the site before you launched your critique. There are probably a lot of viewpoints on this, and I completely agree with you that the site proves NOTHING about my state of health. But that isn't why I'm using it. For me, it's about accountability. If people are using it for a guarantee, then they're idiots. And if they can't read a huge bold message telling them otherwise, they're blind or illiterate. I've only was asked TWICE for bbfs in four years of being independent and it was before I joined the site which was recent ( I am NOT a bbfs provider and never was or will be). Still, it's not useless and is better than the 'don't ask, don't tell' behavior that is the only alternative so far. I feel that I owe my clients more than 'believe I'm clean or see someone else.' I wouldn't trust 99% of the girls I've met here, so why should they trust me?

written history.  Evidence  goes back to cavemen.  In some societies that were nomadic and in agrarian societies where creating population was important polyogamy existed but it wasn't promisicuous.  The reasons were more practical than sexual.

Then there are hobbyist who like variety

I don't believe legalization will work for many reasons.  Largest is the voters today don't want it. Second largest to many managers, pimps, part time and non hard core prostitutes really don't want it either.

The two most recent countries that past legalizing prostitution, New Zealand and Australia they exclude any management, agencies, pimps that will share in their earnings.  It also means if these people try going UTR they are easier to spot and tax problems along with the rest is a much greater risk.  Simply there are too many places for their property now to go for protection, if nothing else.  The hookers who wouldn't care, the street hustler, drug addict, ones with priors are likely to have pimps who do care.

The temp, the mother, the daughter, the part time or middle class hooker won't want to sign up and let the world know that they are hookers.

IMHO
