Over the weekend, Doc, the moderator in Porn Stars board, resigned and said goodbye to TER boards due to philosophical differences with TER.  Today, riker, the moderator in SF board and great contributors in National boards, resigned and will greatly reduced his participation in TER due to changes in his business affairs with lots of traveling to places with limited internet access.

Seth a.k.a. the Doctor has been a major force in the PS board.  Ever since the inception of TER Porn Stars board in 5/1/2002, Doc has infused his energy and knowledge to help members of PS board.  Out of some 4272 messages and responses posted in PS boards from 5/1/2002 to 10/12/2002, the day Doc resigned as the mod, he has contributed 1171 of them; his contribution percentage is 27.4 %.  Taking a quick glance of his posts, more than 50% of them have over 1000 reads, possibly 20% of them has over 2000 reads.  One of his messages has 6459 reads

Besides the PS boards, Doc has also contributed in other regional boards.  90 posts in Florida board since 7/1/2001, 14 posts in DC board since 8/7/2001, 30 posts in New York boards since 6/16/2001, 57 posts in LA boards since 7/1/2001 and 143 posts in National boards since 7/20/2001.  I have no doubt that if not for the existence of the PS boards, these numbers will be a lot higher.

Although Doc is a somewhat controversial figure because of his straight forward, no nonsense way of moderating, nonetheless, lots and lots of members have benefited from his contribution.

Riker is one of the major contributors in the National board.  He is extremely articulate and often offered wonderful insights on the issues at hand.

He has posted 263 messages and responses in SF boards since 5/1/2002, 246 of those as moderator.  There are 1147 posts from 6/27/2002 to 10/14/2002 during his time as the moderator and 1326 posts from 5/1/2002 to 10/14/2002 when he participated in SF board.  His contribution percentage is 22.9 % as the SF mod.

Riker has posted 556 messages and responses in the National board from 4/23/2002 to 9/18/2002.  During that same period of time, there are 8408 posts in the National board. His contribution percentage is 6.6% and average 3.73 posts per day (556 posts in 149 days).  His numerous posts really helped to advance the discussion and made this board interesting and lively.  He has also contributed 63 posts in the LA board from 5/24/2002 to 8/26/2002.

Number alone does not tell the whole story.  Although there is a major competitor (SF Redbook) to TER in San Francisco, riker has tried tirelessly to involve members in SF board to participate in the discussions.  The quality of messages posted by riker in this board is well known.  There is no need for me to elaborate here.

I have always had great respect for moderators as they volunteer to put in time and effort to enlighten, guide and offer helps to local members.  These two gentlemen have cast long shadows in their respective boards and there are giant shoes to fill for any upcoming moderators.
