Talking politics and religion are probably a good way to turn some people off that you might want to do business with someday. I don't visit the political board because most forums I join have one and they all devolve into this never-ending food fight that isn't worth my time.
Probably a good idea to keep ethnic issues out as well except where they are relevant to hobbying and providing.
But, then, I'm not a moderator.
Could we poss keep discussing politics OUT of what are supposedly FUN meetings??? Epecially when you have no idea of your friend's (political!) persuasion, religion or backround. And in light of recent sad events in the Middle East, it would stupid to air rampant views either way. We all have them - even more so if our families are directly involved in the troubles- but there is a time and a place. Tact please. And more sex!!!!!!

Both factions have been a total pain to the rest of the world for most of this century.
We need the OIL; but certainly not THEM.
Now now, lets not limit ourselves to Jews and Muslims (not Arabs necessarily). The Christians are as useless as tits on a bull too, and still lead the pack in terms of total deaths directly related to their "peaceful" religion. At more than 35 million slaughtered in the "peaceful" name of Christ, the Muslims have their work cut out for them to compete. Unfortunately, they are working hard to close the body count gap.
Lets face it, religion in ALL of its forms is the worst catastrophe to ever plague mankind. We'd be better off without the lot.
No sense however further punishing enlightened atheists/agnostics suffering over here in the States and elsewhere for a ten thousand year old family feud between historically violent tempered nomadic herdsmen and overbearing merchants/moneychangers.
Lets let their changes come from within. Without genocide.

Today we are STILL dealing with conflicts that are more than two MILLENIA old, with NO end in sight. Our great great grandchildren are still going to be fighting out a sibling rivalry that started when men were still beating on one another with sticks and stones. Now we have nuclear weapons. To say that anything TODAY is going to change is like saying that the earth is going to suddenly stop on a dime and start spinning the other way.
I am not advocating genocide, neither in my first post nor this one, but pardon me for pointing out that your optimism in thinking that any of the three major religions will ever change borders on psychosis.
Neither the Muslims, the Jews, nor the Christians have done anything to make this world a better place other than to act as a parasitic population control. To observe that we would be better off without all of them is not a call to exterminate them, it is simply a statement of a grim and ugly truth. Nothing more.

Sure you implied it. "Lets let change come from within"......hey while we are at it, lets have a rousing chorus of Kum Bah Yah too. If you honestly think that a fight that has gone on for two millennia is going to suddenly resolve itself spontaneously in our lifetime or our great great great grandchildren's lifetime, you are sadly mistaken. Those rose colored glasses must work pretty darned well.
Furthermore, if you actually think this is a NEW situation that has developed since WWII, you are sadly and woefully mistaken. Apparently, the crusades never happened. They are a figment of our imagination. The only thing that has changed since WWII is that we threw kerosene on the fire by recreating out of thin air a nation that had not existed for more than two millennia. Hey, lets recreate the Ottoman empire next shall we? At least their footstools are cool.
I'd love to see your reaction if the UN marched in here tomorrow and told us we have to give Manhattan, Phildelphia, and Boston back to the Indians, and furthermore, they get to take posession of our nation's most revered landmarks such as Mt. Rushmore and the Statue of Liberty. Lets see how well that flies here.

If your prescription is followed we will have a bloodbath in every corner of the earth. In case you have not noticed Jewish and Arab (I think you meant Islamic, because Arabs make up a subset of Islam. Some Arabs are Christian, should they be wiped out?), people live in every community that I can think of.
Mass extinction of one group of humans has a somewhat nasty side effect. That side effect is when extinction will stop. Is removal of one or two groups that one deems undesirable enough? Why not start on the next less than desirable group once the top two are allowed to finish off each other?
The issues that plague the Middle East are centuries old and complex. The solution that you propose is no solution and if the rest of us stand by an allow it to happen, we will be no better the most murderous terrorist.

You two paragraphs were filled with so many inaccurate cliches that I stopped counting. The fact is, all the oil in the world can disappear and every bank with it and we will still have conflict in the Middle East. I can try explaining to you why, but I have already demmed that effort a waste.

The Jews have the world by the short hairs through financial manipulation.
The (Whatevers) quit herding animals when they found their faith sitting on the oil reserves and now hold the ring in the world's nose.
Both Tribes are demanding our loyalty for their goods or services while they horrifically attack each others civilians.
Having them killing each other off is way better than dragging the rest of the world into their private religious/tribal feud that has proved a lose-lose for us for 60 years.
I don't care who is(or isn't) behind it; I don't want another 911 on our shores, and until the banks and oil companies allow alternative fuel I don't need any more hikes in gas prices.

"Two wrongs don't make a right." There is goodness, sadness, mean-spirited people and pain on either side of the fence. I don't think hurdling accusations toward one another is the answer. People have different religions and beliefs throughout the world. I just wish we could all share a city with our own beliefs and live together and respect each other. Unfortunately, so much blood has been shed that it is difficult for one to forgive the other. Can we just all lay down our arms and forgive and move forward? I guess not. What a shame!
