Cold Sore or Herpes ? Do you give her the benefit of the doubt when you notice it on her lip.

any guy in their right mind...

should get the hell out of there and FAST. Hsv1 is extremely contagious. Best not to take chances.

Of course I give her the benefit of the doubt

and offer to call her in a week or so after her "cold sore" has cleared up, and then I would immediately lose her number.

Whether it is only a cold sore or not, it shows extremely bad judgement on her part to even have the question raised by working while she has a visible cold sore.

I cut myself right at the edge of my lip while shaving on the day of a session.  I emailed her to cancel, saying it looked like a herpes outbreak, even though I assured her it was not, but I didn't want to trouble her.  Also, of course, the wound was an open pathway if she had anything to transmit.  She was very understanding and we re-scheduled and had a very nice time.

Questionable

If she has something questionable on her lip you should always pass, you don't know where else she might have a "cold sore"that isn't showing ...
