Once again, I am unfortunately being called by a number of L.A. based providers who have been arrested in doing outcall to Orange County Hotels and Motels.  The sheriffs in O.C. have been active in this for well over 3 years now, and there is no let up.
I would hope that providers would simply stop doing outcall to hotels and motels in Orange County.

First off, thank you, if you are this involved then thank you for taking the time.

I still think that it is ironic that there is not a primer that says....all S Cal providers dont Go to OC  why doesnt ter do this?

Rule #1-never do outcall to the Land of Swimming Pools & Movie Stars. OC is a very close second, though.

Remember, it's primary elections month.

The liberal one raises a very good point.  Orange County and Long Beach have a nasty reputation for setting up providers in hotels.  It follows a familiar pattern.  LE gets two rooms usually one next to the other.  They used marked bills and video cameras usually with the intent to catch the provider completely naked thus furthering the embarassment should she choose to go to trial on the issue. They usually confiscate everything she has including condoms, lotions, address books and the like. There are usually 3-4 LE involved--one is the guy making the contact with the provider.  The intent is to nail 5-10 providers in this way. I would urge all providers to refrain from outcall in these areas. Incall is generally safer although OC has aggressively pursued these situations as well.  I have read some interesting arrest reports and compared them with the providers' versions of what happened. To say the least the stories are usually on opposite ends of the spectrum.  I would remind providers that in these situations, LE usually tape records the festivities so it is very important to have your attorney requests copies of these tapes.  Many times the good parts are unintelligible and could raise issues that might lead to a reduction of the charges.  I would also indicate that in the reports I have read from OC, the contact LE always invents a reason to leave the room just prior to the arrival of the other LE, either to give a signal or unlock a door or something of that nature to tell the listening LEs when to come in.  Please be aware of these tactics; they are sure giveaways that something is not right.  It is also important to remember not to mention sexual acts and monetary issues in the same conversations.  Stay safe, ladies. Regards, levendi

Levendi raises an excellent point about including Long Beach.  Indeed, two years ago, when I ran for the State Assembly in Long Beach, it was the Long Beach police association president who signed the campaign hit piece for the winning candidate exposing to the electorate my views on decriminalizing prostitution.

The Long Beach stings particularly occur at the tall Holiday Inn adjacent to the Long Beach airport.  They occur as Levendi describes with two rooms being deployed for the effort.

I hate that expression, but it just seems to be true too often to fall out of favor.

I appreciate G2's concern.  The most telling example of how the issue of decriminalizing prostitution distorted the real issues in my state assembly campaign, came about during a candidate forum in Carson.  The district was Long Beach, Carson, Compton, Wilmington, and Harbor City.

In Carson, I had met hundreds of people suffering from cancer related to that city's runaway toxic pollution.  There is a school there, across from an old land fill, where in the last ten years a third of the teachers contracted some form of cancer.

All of us candidates were gathered for this public forum.  I was revealing statistics about how much cancer there was in that very city, related to the toxic pollution that was rampant there.  No other candidate addressed the issue.  Wilmington, L.A's port area is also a sewer, with no effort to clean it up.

Mary Moore, the political writer for the Daily Breeze, would have non of my talk on the toxic pollution.  She and the other candidates all ganged up on me on prostitution.  I held up a picture of a six year old girl from this school, who had just died of brain cancer.  I also mentioned how the land around where the GoodYear Blimp takes off and lands is completely  polluted.  The next day, the Daily Breeze focused on the "slick lawyer" who "kept dodging the prostitution issue."

The following morning, the hit piece on me by the Long Beach Police Association, saying that if prostitution becomes legal their jobs will be harder, and that the electorate should reject me, arrived at the homes of all the voters.

I lost on March 7, 2000.  No public official has yet lifted a finger to seriously address the pollution in Carson and Wilmington. Consenting adults are still being persecuted in California. Oh, well.  Let's just say that in my own way, "I took one for the team."
