and should have been more suspicious.  There are a lot more hot-looking Chinese women than there are Pakistani women, so any Chinese guy that is supposedly wealthy that can't get a good-looking Chinese wife is not telling the whole story.  Someone should have told this girl there is no such thing as a free lunch.  

As the article (or general historical knowledge) makes clear, China's "one child" policy led to an excess of males over females in the current marriage age population. (There have been many accusations that Chinese families would use female infanticide in order to guarantee that they could raise a son to carry on the family name.)

of 106:100, but if you factor in wealth, it might be more like 2 or 3:10,000.   Even though China is the fastest growing producer of NEW millionaire households (a reasonable benchmark to call someone "wealthy") in the past ten years (according to Forbes magazine),  these millionaires represent a very small percentage of the population (less than 0.002%, compared to 11% of millionaire households in the US).  So my point was that this girl should have been suspicious about WHY a guy with "wealth" would need to enter into an "arranged" marriage with a girl from another country.  I bet there were some gorgeous "middle-class" Chinese girls who would love to marry a newly-minted Chinese millionaire, or even a half-a-millionaire, but these same girls would not want a "poor farmer."

 
I think its probably the same pitch the Kgirl agency's use to lure Kgirls to work in the US, i.e., that there is a possibility that they will meet a rich American as a customer who will marry them.  While this has happened only about six times that I know of in LA (where I know MOST of what is going on in Kgirl-land), the girls still flock here with this hope.  If the Pakistani girl was extraordinarily beautiful (by ANY standard, not just compared to other mustachioed Pakistani women), then it would be more plausible that she might marry better if she looked internationally.  According to the photo you included, I don't think anyone would consider her "beautiful" in the normal sense of the word.  So again, why wasn't she suspicious?

I can think of dozens of Asian hookers who have found American husbands and who are still here in this country, most of them getting divorced shortly after gaining their citizenship or permanent residence status of course, this includes more than a couple of ex GF's of mine who I knew were looking for husbands when I dated them.

I completely agree that a "rich" farmer, even in China, where Imp is absolutely correct about the prospects of the "average" Chinese guy in finding a wife, a truly "rich" guy, even if he's completely repulsive is going to find ZERO problems in finding a wife. Chinese families are very eager to "marry off" their daughters, daughters have ALWAYS been second class citizens in China, and marrying a daughter off to even someone from a "good family" is considered a success, finding someone actually rich to marry one's daughter is like hitting the lottery.

Most of the girls I know that found American husbands did NOT find "rich" American husbands, the overwhelming majority had to "settle" for what they could get in order to stay in this country. That said, one of my exes, a Thai girl that i dated for about a year did find herself a "rich guy" after we broke up, She was miserable though and told me several times that she was so sad that it wasn't me that she married. We kept in touch all through her marriage until after her divorce was final and her residence status was assured,  at which point she tried to get back with me, but alas she had gained about 30 lbs during her duration and I am sure you can guess how that ended. lol

I might not ever want to get married again, but I'd hate it even more if I actually wanted to get married and no one wanted me. other factors come into play that just makes it more practical to pay as you get older.  Maybe you experienced the same things I did, but for me, it became a huge time suck with the flirty texting 6 or 8 times a day, the coffee dates, dinners, etc., and the bigger the age difference between you and the girl, the more care and feeding they require until it makes it not worth it anymore.  If I want to talk politics, I can do it in one-fourth the time with you or Jake.  I don't need to waste my time trying to 'splain things to a hot 30 yo that I really just want to fuck, and that's it.  Money gives you instant access to the pussy of your choice, and a clean getaway afterwards.  What more could we want at 60 years old?  Lol
