Would you use a referral service?

Hi all,

I'm planning a trip to Phoenix and was looking at Little Debbie's site. She's a provider who asks for referrals for new clients, but will also accept clients who have been previously screened by a referral service, "Secret Keeper."

This is the first I've heard of a professional service that does the screening for providers. To the providers who read this board, would you be inclined to use a service like this? For my fellow hobbyists, would you consider using such a service? (Linked below)

Use a referral service?  Not me!  For the same reason I won't provide info to any of the escort agencies, wouldn't use PayPal etc etc.  I don't want to end up in someone else's data base, for for a variety of reasons.

These validating services are future problems waiting to happen, and they are popping up everywhere.
I've missed only one fine vix because of them, but so be it.
Ex wives and LE can obtain these records easily.
Same with Pay Pal and Credit Card records.
The services are just as dangerous to the liberty of the providers.

It could make things much easier for both the ladies and the gentlemen, but I have concerns.  I would need to know who is running the site and how diligent and reliable they were.  I also am not sure of the legality of such a service.  If it is an illegal enterprise, I would not want to be in their database.  But, if it is legal and they were candid about who was running the business, and if they acquired a good track record, I would consider it.  Still, I would not want to be the first provider to see a gentleman after he signed up for the service.

For now, there is no one I trust more than myself to screen the gentlemen I see.  In addition to being convinced they are who they say they are, I like to talk with them in order to get a sense of whether we are compatible.  A screening service might be a useful adjuct to such conversation, but would never replace it for me.

I have been either lucky or successful with my procedure (maybe both), because almost all of the men I have met over the past year and a half have been gentlemanly and fun to know.  And, when I am at ease, I am more fun to be with, too.

...by people you don't want to have accessing it?  Like LE, or some cyber private detective, etc.  I once considered joining RS2000, probably the biggest and most "respected" of these services, and any number of TER members talked me out of it on this very same discussion board.  I have since responded to every post such as yours with the same, IMHO, wise advise.  That is to keep your personal information as such and dispense it at YOUR will, not on the whim of some internet service that may, or may not, be on the up-and-up. Or may be intimidated into giving data up to LE.

Most quality providers that use a screening process will ask for referrals from other providers.  My advise to you is to ask a provider with an internet presence, whom you have seen in session, if she could be used by you as a reference in the future.  Don't feel uneasy about this:  They all know it's a business.  And if you didn't want diversity, you'd probably get married, or something.

That's what I thought, too, but I was curious about others' opinions.
