I wanted to see if there's a double standard.

And I have never tried to run or control their lives.  Whatever SHE decided to do, I would merely discuss it make sure she has thought it through and understands the pluses and minuses.  At the end of the day, if she still wanted to be a hooker, I would tell her I expect her to give it 100% and be the best damn hooker on the planet.  

It implies that I have authority that I don't.  That somehow I can control an adult's choices and the outcomes.  That way lies codependency and madness.

You can't really use covering her living costs as a reasonable negotiation for not whoring herself out. Whoring is so lucrative. On a decent whoring month, I get over 10k. You can't compare that to just covering rent costs

I can give her lots of good advice,  as long as she doesn't tell mom it came from dad.

I would make efforts to prevent my daughter (I actually have no children) from any form of lifestyle that was forced upon her by other people.  Otherwise it would most likely be don't ask, don't tell.

Is that all women do this because they have no other options or don't have enough money otherwise but that's not always the truth. Therefore paying for everything to keep your daughter out of this might not work. I know several women who are business owners who do this on the side. I for one have a career outside of the hobby which I am quite happy with. TBH I was already involved in the whole swinger/sex party lifestyle before I started so I would be fucking around one way or another. I can honestly say no one giving me money would have kept me away from this because money isn't the only reason I do it. So honestly there's no real way to stop your daughter from doing it. She could become a successful woman who does everything the "right" way and still choose this path.

Yikes,  not sure the military should be lumped in there. If everybody thought like that  we would be very unsafe.

I'm confused at all these posts saying "no i wouldn't" as if you can control the actions of grown woman. Seems a better question would be, how would you feel if/when she does? I would personally support my kid in any desiscion. Being a hoe is not a job without flaws/difficulties special to this industry but theres potentially damaging/stressful things about every line of work so I don't feel its a huge concern.

Your income would average out to $120,000 per year which seems minimal for NYC.  Whoring is definitely a choice though I would not want my Daughter being a whore and I would not support her in that decision.

I am the father of four very independent women. I have always supported each one of them, but LET them?

She knows about TER, P411, and so on.  If she decided she was going to "follow in my footsteps," so to speak, I would arrange to have my ATF mentor her so she didn't make any stupid mistakes.

How do you "let" your adult child do anything. If she is old enough to be a hooker, she is old enough to make up her own damned mind about what she is going to do with her life.

I was thinking of seemingly degrading or dangerous jobs and remembered how my mom feared for my life when I joined not to mention all the sexual assault going against women going on in the military...thats why I lumped it in.

I was in the military so I have no qualms with it at all...I was thinking of my parent's response to me joining and all the sexual assault/harassment that happens to women in the military.

My children and grandchildren always have my love and a safe place. I would not encourage them in this life but how could I mistreat them because of it?

I've flipped burgers, I've cleaned toilets and I've been in the military and I am not a bit ashamed of having done any of those things for a living when I was young.

But the jobs I mentioned are stereotypically "demeaning" or "dangerous" both of which are used to describe this profession.

Although I assume your happy and your in a vocation where you aim to please, what were the primary conundrums that your parents might of had during the course of your process of occupation selection?  Considering you where in the military during a time when it was not professionally or socially welcoming for women, I am sure that you developed instincts for coping with aggressive and professionally antithetical officers.  This was a great feat considering that there where very few mechanisms for women who were in the service.  Also you cerebrally picked your spots considering what you MOS was, and for the most part you tried not to rock the boat.  Furthermore, it gave you an idea of what you wanted to do and what you didn't want to do, and from that you knew that you needed autonomy and a certain decorum to exist while in pursuit of your living.  
  However when it comes to being a parent you have some reservations about certain occupations.  Also you are thinking about gender and matching occupations that you would think a young woman would usually be interested in or would capture her imagination. Then after that you consider the culture that she would be exposed to and will she be accepted on the merits of her work. These are all critical items that a parent would take into account when a child gravitates towards a certain profession and his or her station in life. Also life is cyclical, that is one of the reasons that members of the board and those who are directly involved in the demimonde ask that question. Also the answers are ones that are informed because providers know all that would transpire during the course of the time that one would be a provider.

Just asking...You must have made observations based on my Twitter and/or posts.
