I've said it before and I'll say it again: reviews are the lifeblood of the hobby. They are especially vital for those of us in smaller markets or with more of a niche appeal. Admin if you're reading this- pretty please with sugar on top?!
Mongering in the U.S. without reviews is a hard sell. I will find it difficult to continue mongering domestically at anywhere near the scale on which I previously mongered without reviews. I had been doing more and more of my mongering overseas, in places like Costa Rica, Brazil, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and the Philippines, even before the reviews disappeared. The disappearance of reviews pushed me further in that direction, as I had already come to enjoy mongering overseas more than I did domestically; TER's reviews and the greater convenience were the only advantages of U.S. mongering even before the reviews disappeared. Now my main reason for mongering domestically, except for those providers and agencies that I know and trust or still have reviews available. is that I cannot travel overseas as much as I would like.
My next trip is to Colombia, which hosts some of the world's finest providers at a fraction of what they would cost in the U.S.
It was not uncommon to have over a hundred thousand users online at a given time. Now we run at about one percent of that. They are out there, in the thousands, but no reason to check in frequently when there are no reviews going up of new ladies daily, and no prior reviews of old ladies. Hmmm, that doesn't sound quite right, but you know what I mean. Lol
I think you've hit on something poignant here CDL.
Switter and others are trying to build review-less platforms, and selling the idea as "this is what women want so it's non-negotiable". The problem of course being that the segment of the market that will put up with walking into a session completely blind is effectively the BP market, which although it's large, it's also squarely in the lower end. This summarizes the issues girls on switter (at least the ones I follow) have been lamenting about from the beginning, which are basically "too many time wasters, trying to negotiate prices, poor hygiene, no regard for safety, no gentlemanly conduct, etc, etc, etc". It makes perfect sense, they're just pulling from the wrong market be default.
