Grading on a Curve

Wouldn't it be nice if TER required the reviewer to grade the ladies on a curve of their own pool? That way the reviewer couldn't post all 10/10's. He would be forced to have 10/10 all the way down to 01/01. It wouldn't necessarily hurt the ladies reviews overall because you could compare his ladies as a group and you could compare one reviewer's list of ladies to another reviewer's list of ladies that may have scored her higher or lower.

I was originally thinking about the level of education of the (male) posters and realized that most of us must have been graded on a curve, otherwise we wouldn't have made it out of the 3rd grade! I came up with the "review scores" thing just to get it past the moderator. LMAO

Reviews should be "moderated'" in the sense that each reviewer would receive a grade on each of his reviews by an experienced hobbyist.

Points would be based largely on how accurately he ranked the provider, but include notes on spelling, grammar, and, yes, my favorite, originality.

Rather than try to force guys to score differently, I'd like to see an output statistic readily available as to how a lady scored relative to how her reviewers scored other ladies.  There coud be 2 statistics, 1) she scored higher than a reviewer's mean X% of the time, and 2) her total rating is Y% diff (higher or lower) than the ave her reviewers means.  The latter of these is perhaps the most useful, but the former could provide a hint at consistency.

As it is now, I attempt to more or less do this myself on a limited basis, by looking at a few reviewers' ratings history - but obviously this is really just spot checking and is not comprehensive.  Guys have such completely different scoring patterns, so I think this could be helpful.  Also, I've particularly noticed vast differences in scores of visiting ladies, these statistics would really help to deal with those.  For instance, if a lady is from a region where guys tend to be little stingier with scores, looking at a 8 performance score might not initially overwhelm you, but if you saw that 90% of the time she was above the mean of her reviewers scores, or perhaps 10% higher than the ave of their means, those would be extremely good indicators.

I also think statistics on reviewers would be interesting.  Particularly, how do his scores compare to the ave scores of the ladies he has reviewed.  This would be helpful when considering ladies with a smaller number of reviews.  For instance, if a guy gave a 6 performance score, that tells you one thing, and if his ave perf score is a 6 that tells you something else - but perhaps even more useful, would be to know that he scores 20% lower on average than EVERYONE else for all the ladies that he has seen.  This stat tells you if he scores worse than others, or if he is just seeing low-rated ladies.

Of course, reading reviews is most critical, but I do think having these types of stats instantaneously available would be a nice addition and help with the speed of research.

I'm not sure that our ladies are normally distributed.  They are ALL above average.

I have written reviews on providers and looked at the score and asked myself "how can I give her an 8 when i also gave someone else an 8 that wasn't nearly as good?".  Call it hindsight, I guess.  But I cannot change what has been already published & I just go with what I think at the time I write the review.    I'd much rather not assign some sort of number, maybe pick 3 or 4 appropriate adjectives from a list for quick reference or for a search function, then write the details.

I try not to get over analyze another reviewers numerical scores and put more stock in the narrative.  What your 7 or 8 or 9 could be quite different than mine.

Would TER would get rid of the numerical rating system?   Can't say I see TER ever doing that.  And what would replace it?  The TER TOP 100 is a great marketing tool for both TER and the providers.   I admit I've looked at it, mostly as a curiosity, but I find the review's narrative and PM to other mongers to be much more beneficial to choosing a provider.

While those new to the hobby may wish to write reviews, whether to get VIP time, establish credibility within the community or just a desire to share information, often the reviews of newbies can be all over the place.  Not sure what to do about it, except to keep that in mind when reading up on a provider.  Maybe TER should give us mongers a year to revise scores.  I am sure what we as reviewers might have considered an 8 has changed over time and with more experience.

And the reviewers personal ranking might not be so bad.  I am sure TER could write some code that would allow a reviewer to rank the ladies they have seen AND keep that list private so only reviewers could see it.  Or somehow group providers (top third, middle third, bottom third).  I'm just tossing out some ideas off the top of my head.

FWIW.

Oh, and Happy Father's Day to all you fathers out there.  At least to those of you that are good dads.  You scumbag deadbeats can go jump.

You make a good argument on reviews here.  Your question about what the fuck model material even means is a good one.  The woman on the cover of Juggs, will not be on the cover of the bikini issue of Sports Illustrated.  The Sports Illustrated model will most likely not be on the cover of Inked.  The tattoo riddled woman of Inked magazine will most likely not appear on the cover of Cosmopotitan.  And so on.  Yet they are all models with varying body shapes and looks.  The scoring system is being taken too literally at times, imo.

would be either -

allow decimals -  I know that I've rated a lot of 8s and 9s that I think in an of themselves were deserving, but *compared to one another*  there are notable differences - I could go back through my reviews and award decimal places to make these distinctions for those for whom the numbers really matter....

or perhaps yet better-

just grade the whole grading scale on the curve -   I tend to look at it as though the whole shebang goes from 7-10 and assign negative values to anything under 7 lol....

If the reviewer were to first send the juicy details as he remembers them to the provider, he could ask her to grade herself. Why wouldn't that work?

I guess I am all ready rate on a curve. If it is a $500 an hour experience it is rated compared to other $500 an hour experience. If it is a 2 girl experience rated against others like it. Might be unfair that on the surface a great afternoon with a great woman has a similar score as a hh quickly of Bp between flights but I am rating them by what they advertise so in away I am grading by the standard they chose to set. I may reevaluate my own system soon but that would throw everything out of wack lol

I think the stats themselves would be clearer in meaning than my explanation was!
