Is a fairly common advertising phrase based on the long established principle that ads at the top of a page of news print get viewed more than those at the bottom. The same applies to on-line marketing. Featured listings generate substantially more views that more than offsets the higher price of the ad, resulting in a greater number of calls at a lower cost-per-inquiry.

The conversion rate of inquiry to appointment, however, remains constant or may even drop slightly. So the answer to your question is no – guys are not choosing a provider because she is featured, just more guys are seeing the ad.

This is not rocket science

They definitely get viewed first but.....

Do you ever make your decision to see a provider because
they pay a bit more to have "Featured" status on the boards?

Your thoughts if any?

Agreed, and in big cities such as yours many girls feel they have no choice but to be in the Top 10 on Eros or featured, because there are so many women. Personally, I've never needed the volume to run a VIP or Top 10 ad, so the expense would not justify it. Just a regular ad in NYC is like 200, if I remember correcty...that is absurd. In Destin it is only 25 bucks and 65 for New Orleans.

I don't really use Eros much; I find that TER and word of mouth from other providers and hobbyists is usually enough for me.

But couldn't featured status come off as a negative, especially to a newbie hobbyist?  I could see an "aspiring hobbyist" as possibly somewhat shy and uncertain.  Such a man could see "featured" and be concerned that he won't measure up to the lady's expectations (hey, we know that the ladies keep their expectations confined to the envelope, but this is a newbie we're talking about here), or maybe be worried that a "featured" lady will have higher rates, or be in such high demand that he ought not waste the effort to contact her, etc…

Of course, *I* never suffered from such issues, because my ego is higher than the sky :) Just spitballing ideas..
