I only decided to post this after the 100th misspelling of the word---check with any on-line dictionary---methinks pedantic Priapus is gonna catch some heat-----.

Spelling, schmelling.  What I want to know is how is it pronounced.  Pree uh pizm or pr eye uh pizm?

Actually I care about spelling as well, but I've given up on pretending my grammar and spelling are good enough to correct the internet population.

While were ranting on matter linguistic:

I'll buy the word "cum" when it's in reference to a man (or woman) ejalculating.

However, if you are refering to the word that means to arrive somewhere, as in the sense of moving physically, that word is spelled c-o-m-e.

Let's adhere to that, shall we?

Bear, the following comes from Wikipidea : "In Greek myth, Priapus was a minor rustic fertility God, protector of livestock, fruit, plants & male genitalia. He was best noted for his huge, permanently erect penis, which gives rise (lol), to the medical term priapism"

Man, I HAD to start this-------

but you know you're supposed to seek medical attention for any erection lasting longer than 4 hours, right?

That few people take notice of things that are clearly in front of them, save their noses. In TER land, spelling really doesn't count... It's about getting as much pussy as you can afford. No?

OK! Yet, I still like it when my favorite lady  uses it in setting up our dates.

Any chance we can get spellcheck integrated into this site (oh my let's see spellcheck? integrated? site?) I think that's right??? I know, though inspite (or is it despite) of sincere efforts, I've made some errors. Thank's for all of you for pointing out these lastest errors. I need all the help I can get.

Other common misusages:

--It’s a web “site” …..NOT a web “sight”

--Keep the envelope in “plain sight” ……NOT “plane site”

--It’s be “discreet” …..NOT be “discrete”

--it's "bear" with me ... NOT "bare" with me

--during "their" travels...  NOT during "there" travels

--if "you're" in the area... NOT if "your" in the area

--it's "definitely" NOT "definately"

I just had to chime in... (thanks Priapus53)  ... ;-)

Prof : EXCELLENT list of the common misspellings that set my hairs on end----as I mentioned in an earlier posting, one person in here has nearly flawless syntax, grammar, spelling & punctuation
: that would be MENSA Marea-------where is that intellectual hottie lately ? As for some of the others, they need spellcheck & or a dictionary & a copy of the book "The Elements of Style" by Strunk & White, which is THE quintessential book on concise & literate writing.

If I'm pissing some off, please pay me no mind---
Priapus is a pedantic putz. ( an example of alliteration). ;)

Well, more precisely, both are words. They're homonyms. The one more likely used on this board is "discreet", meaning able to keep secrets; "discrete" means separate, not part of a continuum. So if a reviewer said that "Lisa is a discrete gem, unique, standing apart from other providers" that WOULD be correct usage...

Thank you, I've been meaning to post just that.  And while we're at it "it's" is an abbreviation for "it is."  "Its" is the possessive.  OK, that's enough pedantry for today ...

that think it's spelled "looser". Speaking strictly as a hobbyist, I prefer "tighter" over "looser" lol
