too many fake reviews

I have been a member for a long time.  Unfortunately I cannot come to the USA often, however I am familiar with the scene in London and other cities outside the USA.  It is very disappointing for me to see how low the reliability of TER has become.  I logged in after a a long time to check out reviews for London and (after a search for high rated ladies) 8 out of 10 reviews appear fake.  All gorgeous ladies, providing all services. Pity most of them never ever have appeared (not their agencies) in C69, the specialist review site form the UK.  Is this an issue specific to London or just a general decline in TER.  Let alone grade proliferation.  What a pity, such a great site a great idea

Sorry to those you might read this twice I realised I had posted on the wrong board

. . . I don't know, I'm in Tampa, Florida and I have about 30 or so reviews.  I've been an escort since July of last year.  I see 0-2 men in any 24 hours so I know who my reviewers are, AND AREN'T.

Out of the 30 reviews only 2-3 of them are fake, I never saw them.  Another 3-4 reviews are from men that I saw but they embellished.

As you read my reviews it becomes easy to see which 18% are either fake or embellished because those just don't seem to quite fit in with the others.

So, for me, roughly 8-10% are fake and another 10% or so are embellished.

I've made two problem reports to TER recently for reviews for London ladies that are clearly fake: all 10/10s, reviewer only reviews girls at one agency, said agency is using photos of Playboy mnodels and porn stars.

Unfortunately, TER don't seem to agree that the reviews are fake and they're still up.  As you say, the agency/girls in question are not listed on C69 (in fact the agency has been slated on the forum for their B&S tactics).

...was always the case, will always be the case.

I too am London based and you are right it is disappointing to see the number of fake reviews for our city. Only three or so days ago I was on to TER about some very obvious fakes, but in fairness to them there is little that they can do. Obviously the odd malicious fake can be cleared up if a provider wants to go to the effort of pushing it, but if a hobbyist wants to object against a promotional fake review it usually boils down to one word against another and that is not enough to hang.

The real issue is whether fakes are an increasing trend. I've been here from the start of this site and really the level of obvious fakes does not seem to have noticably increased as a percentage in the cities that I follow, namely London and NYC. In my experience after the first year or so all hobby sites start getting flooded with fakes.

There is something that can be done about ridiculous grade inflation but there is little that can be done about fakes, especially on a site this huge with so many reviews. As I always say, the onus is very much on the reader to judge any review critically. You can't look at a review in isolation, you need to view it in terms of a reviewers entire output.

At the end of the day the issue of fakes will not be resolved adequately on any review site. So a hobbyist needs to ask himself one simple question. Although the process is flawed, is it of use to me or not?  I should have thought the answer to that is obvious.

...but what can they do with no definitive evidence. They can't just rely on my word or your word. Even if an agency is using obviously fake pics, which is not unusual in the States, they can't automatically remove a review. At least I think they can't, I'm not completely sure of the policy these days.

thanks for your replies which all raise good points.  Catatonic you ask whether it is still worth it and possibly that is my issue with TER.  I can cope with even say a rate of 18% plus fake, but I need overall to find some guidance for th hobby that is what is great abut a review site.

Perhaps I would draw a distinction about a fake review on a provider (hard to spot at times) and a series of reviews on sites with incredible models (all fake); at a minimum in my view TER shoudl post some sort of warning on said agencies.

on grade inflation, yes I agree lost can be done, firstly by enforcing some rules about correlation between service provided and rating.  If all reviews become 9 and above, again there is no longer value and as you suggest time to move on.  It seems to me C69 has more longevity potential. It is a real pity for TER though, which potentially has best coverage for the US and to a certain extent other territories not strong for C69, such as south America and Asia

If I look, this is mostly a US based review board with some international coverage (Which we ALL appreciate).  So, I, for one, do not know what C69 is.  Please explain that concept and how it works.  Second with resepct to decline....?  TER cannot police the reviews - it has to rely on the reviewers to do their own policing.  For the most part, most of the posters are posting to "help the hobby."  Do I post every session? no I don't - Do I provide every detail? Again no, I don't.

I have read exactly one review that I knew was a fake.... but the actual review, was a good representation of the lady.  So I said nothing because it was accuarate.  So, how to use TER?

there are cautions, be cautious of ladies with one review, by a hobbiest who is the only reviewer for a number of gals or who only has one review...

Read a number of reviews for the lady you wish to see, get a composite of her performance - I would recommend reading her highest scores 2-3 of them, and her lowest scores 2-3 of them - are the reviews consistant - or do they sound like two entirely different people?  then look at the marjority of scores... that is if her highest is a 9/9 and her lowest is 7/7 they you can be faily comfortable with an 8 - if however, the highest is a 10/10 and the lowest is a 5/5 and most are in the 5-6 range - you may be disappointed depending on what you are looking for.

If all this is not enough, email or PM a couple of reviewers or post on the local board about more info.  Most hobbiests are more than happy to help.

Just as grades in school are no indication of success in life - scores on TER cannot tell you what experience you will have.  They can guide you, help you avoid pitfalls, but they cannot provide for the uncertainty of human interactions.

... that modelling picture are being used for bait and switch, though even that in it's own right is probably not enough to remove a review.  It also requires us as hobbyists to point it out and prove it. You may or may not know that a few months ago Arty on C69 would not post a warning on Patsy from the ridiculous Groovy Babes agency even though the real escort using those fake pics picked up a review alleging bait and switch. There was a big hassle on the forum about it and C69 is not that different or superior in this respect.

Sites like these tend to rely on the readers ability to be discriminating, rather than to remove doubtful reviews at will. If they did, then they would be removing reviews all day long and probably incorrectly a lot of the time. It is possible that anything between 10-50+% of reviews on any review site are fake, or so unrealistic that they may as well be fake. The management can only reasonably act when offered incontrovertible proof. If you expect the review admin to be some sort of active Nero Wolfe or police detective on the case of every review, then you expect too much. Any follower should accept that there are limits as to what they can confidently do.

Stick to following credible reviewers and take it all with a pinch of salt. A good deal of the review section is bullshit, which is a shame for those providers who play it honestly. That has always been the case on every review site that I have ever followed, but I still not would not be without them.

Great comments Superdude. When people get hung up in what others say or write they do a diservice to us all. "Ceilings and Floors" or as some "here" put it "YMMV" Have fun, let us know what you think, but when it comes down to it we all recognize that it is the opinion of one and I think we all also realize that when capital is at stake some of us do things that are less than honorable. There are bad apples in all walks of life. To assume that this group is somehow exempt from that reality is quite  silly.Keep your pecker hard and your powder dry and the world will turn.

I have found a review in my state that appears that when she gets a bad review, she gets a couple good ones.  the ones that post the good ones only have two posts.  And the two posts are for girls at the same website.  I reported it, but who knows....

...the reality of fakes. The question was about the amount of fakes. Which is a reasonable gripe on the face of it.

Fake reviews are one of the banes of sites such as these along with grade inflated reviews, croneyism and childish flattery of board favourites. It is still all good fun though.
