The 2009 Ignobel prizes included one for a bra that converts to a gas mask, one for the wearer, and one for "a deserving male bystander".  It was hilarious to see Paul Krugman demonstrating the use of such a device.

In these perilous times, it is great to see someone step up to the plate to make us all safer.
