"the response was as legit as the OP!"

Not sure where you got your definition of "legit" but according to latest available information on the internet, the most commonly accepted understanding of the word "legit" slang for the word legitimate, means... in accordance with established rules, principles, standards, and guidelines.

According to that definition, the response was NOT legit.  In fact, it was anything BUT legit, violating at least 3, of TER's established rules and guidelines for discussion board postings.

"It was a newbie board question."

Really?  Show me the guidelines that establishes the difference between what is considered to be a newbie board question and what can be considered a general discussion board question.

I readily admit, I dont know all the ins and out of TER, and I am a voracious reader of this board's forums. for the very purpose of trying to learn everything I can.

Sometimes I cant find the answer using search.

Sometimes, I ask a moderator and get the totally honest response of... "I dont have fucking clue", that was LP's response by the way.

But after searching for an answer on my own, and not finding it, and then asking a moderator and him not knowing the answer, I took it to the board.

It saddens me deeply, to see a person reach out, and ask such a reasonable, and legitimate question, and then be treated with such unkindness and indifference.

Did you notice, that in spite of the assumed stupidity of OP by the "DumbAss" responder, that nobody else, came forward to provide an answer.

Could it be, that perhaps many others did not know the answer to the question either, and they too were curiously waiting for a reply?

"If the OP had a problem with that answer, let the OP take it up with the responder."

I dont know if the OP had a problem with the answer he received, but I'm a part of this board too, and public posts are open territory for discussion to each and every individual on this board, and I will tell you, I VERY MUCH HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE WAY THE OP's QUESTION WAS RESPONDED TOO.

Would you like to comment on that?  Its a public board you know, you are quite free to do so.  You can even throw in some derogatory and demeaning insults, all the while hurling some assassin insane comments that my pet goldfish is a cock sucking, fag racist transsexual, with STD's.

"Way too many WK's both male and female, not allowing these people to learn to walk on their own."

Are you calling me a WK?  If your definition of a WK, is a person who is sickened and repulsed, with the knowledge, that when another human being is given the choice to show another human being, kindness, hatred, or indifference, they would chose hatred.  If your definition of a WK is a person who stands up and speaks out against the bullying, rather than simply ignoring it with tolerant indifference, then that's me, and I'm quite happy to be me!

"if this question was a REAL concern to the OP, why post it under an alias?"

I cant even begin to fathom, why some questions are asked under an alias, so I wont even attempt to speculate why this poster asked his question under an alias.

But in hindsight, if I were the OP, knowing what I know now, seeing how one can be treated with such meanness and unkindness, I sure as shit would be all happy with myself right about now,  for making the decision, for whatever reason I did, to ask my question under the use of an alias.

"A troll post perhaps?"

Really, are you serious?

I'll tell you how I got my answer, I asked a moderator, quite some many moons ago. With a little sigh of relief, I am now thanking the powers that be, that I DIDNT come to the General Discussion Board to ask that question.

Please, tell me, how it is, that you  came into the knowledge about how to edit a post?

Did it come to you in a vision?

Is there an "Everything You Always Wanted to Know, About Editing Your Posts, But Were Always Too Scared Shitless to Dare and Ask on the General Discussion Board" manual?  If so, I would so love to have that link to be able to pass it around.

This bares mentioning again, I am a voracious reader of this board,  and I can honestly say, that I have ever come across that information, in my readings.  That isnt to say it doesnt exist, just never have come across it.

What happened to that option? I remember seeing it when I made a typo once. Now I don't see the option.

Listen, where does it say that aliases cant edit their posts?  Oh, I'm not doubting you, you are probably correct in your information, but I wouldnt know that kind of information, since I dont post under an alias.

But regardless, that information isnt just common knowledge.  You could have just as easily offered this person the information they were seeking, but "NO" instead you chose to be mean, and then child like rude, with your verbal antics by calling some one a derogatory name and insulting them.

Why the attitude?  Its was an honest legitimate question.

I'll sign my name, its...Jayceeofdallas, and I have no need to use an alias to call someone out, unlike you did.

Dear CountryBoyAtHeart.

I have no clue whether you can, or cannot, edit an alias post, as I dont post under an alias, but your ability to edit a "normal" post, using your "real, non alias" handle, is only available for a certain time period, like 30 minutes maybe.

PM the one of the mods at the top of this page for the definitive answer.  I havent had the chance to harass GaGambler yet, with any of PM's of unending questions, but I have found LittlePhil to always be quite helpful, and he is usually pretty quick to get back with you with an answer, unless he is asleep in his little bed.

The "FAQ for Newbies" Board, might also be a good place to post your question, and is a great resource tool as well.

At least on that board, they are supposed to nice, where on the General Discussion board, you might ask a legitimate honest question, and then someone with a hair up their ass will proceed to unleash on you.  Why?  I'm not sure, but I try to play fair until otherwise provoked.

Every now and then someone on this board surprises me and I am left with a grin on my face and faith that human compassion does exist in this hobby.

Hope you're having a wonderful week!

So why do you have to be so mean to the guy.  At least Jaycee gave him an honest answer and tried to help.  You could have done same, but chose to berate the guy.  WHY!?

the response was as legit as the OP!  It was a newbie board question.  If the OP had a peoblem with that answer, let the OP take it up with the responder.  Way too many WK's both male and female, not allowing these people to learn to walk on their own.

Besides, if this question was a REAL concern to the OP, why post it under an alias?  A troll post perhaps, looking for some entertainment!  Didn't work!

To be fair to CountryBoy, he routinely posts using that alias, much like shouldaknownbetter (sp?) where it sort of becomes his ID.

I toyed with moving it to Newbie, but I was weak, lol.

Any chance you toyed with the idea of enforcing this...

"DISCUSSION BOARDS RULES
Please don't post messages that are mean..."

Strike one!

"...use foul language..."

Strike two!

"These posts will be deleted."

Strike THREE!

Come on LP, you took the time to post on this thread, but you did absolutely nothing to admonish the acts of the individual, who, without any kind of provocation whatsoever, used derogatory, demeaning and insulting foul language, for the sole and intent purpose of just being downright mean spirited and hateful, to another person.

For God's sake LittlePhil, while you  were mentioning the fact that you were too weak to move this thread to the newbie board, couldnt you just have easily, maybe just posted the answer to his question in your post as well?

I suggested he try posting his question on the newbie board, not because it was a newbie question, but because he would be less subjected to the undisciplined, free raining corruption, of the TER bullies.

Other than myself, and the AliasCoward shouting "DumbAss" at the O.P. for even have the audacity to post such an innocent question, on the "bully turf, verbal play yard" no one else gave the OP, an answer to his question, including you.

You, because you were "too weak", your words Sir, not mine.  But so many others didnt post, because they too didnt know the answer.  Sadly, there were some that knew the answer, and simply chose not to take the opportunity to share their knowledge.

The individual reasons for not answering, seems to point to an even bigger issue, which is... the "system", in its current state and condition, is FAILING, and its failing all us.

I'm a hopeful and a reasonable person.  I hope you will take the chance to offer a reasonable, and hopefully somewhat tolerable, explanation, for why you chose to ignore TER's, own, "Discussion Board Guidelines", and allowed things to transpire, and play out they way they did.

DISCUSSION BOARDS RULES
Please don't post messages that are mean, use foul language, or that reveal sensitive information about other people. These posts will be deleted.

We'll have to see about reasonable. ;)

Since I posted my rant about behavior, I've received PM's from people complaining that I'm too lenient, too rigid, too censoring, too involved, not involved enough, and one, yes one thank you for dealing with the children that call this board home.

I'm not looking for kudos, but I've also come to expect that whatever I do will be wrong in someone's eyes.  I'm OK with that, but don't expect that everyone's expectations will be met unless you're prepared to lower them to my level.  That's sarcasm for the slow readers in the group.

As for answering the OP's question, that's not really why I'm here.  It's not the little phil board.  He got legit answers and some smart ass answers.  Since he's a VIP member, he could have easily complained to me, or to GaGambler if he was offended.  He didn't do that, so I have to assume that he wasn't upset.

I use a pretty high tolerance level for what will offend.  After all, the board is made up almost exclusively of criminals, pussy hounds and prostitutes, who hopefully are not offended easily.  Guys come here to find the next partner to spray with goo, and the women come here to ply their wares.  If I were running a daycare, I would apply a totally different set of guidelines.  I operate under the approach that you've all left daycare years ago.

I doubt that any of this will help, but it's the best I've got.
