Hi All,

In many of my ads (and in general) I describe myself as curvy. Does this imply to you a woman is larger? What if she is a smaller size, but still curvy?

interchange curvy and voluptuous.  Those two words do not imply "larger" unless accompanied by "than a walrus".  They normally imply a simple 3 letter word---------->FAT!

Call it whatever you want:

Curvy
BBW
Full-Figured
Rubenesque
Voluptuous
Zaftig

They are all just a politically-correct way of saying FAT!  Some are just fatter than others.

I would expect to see someone like you who really is curvy.  What I generally end up finding out (it's worse in the civilian arena) is a woman 6-10 dress sizes larger than you.

Don't know about anyone else, but 'curvy' doesn't mean large to me. Just sexy

I am assuming in these ads you are concerned about you have a picture of you .Now IDK if these people who answered you looked at your actual pics but I did and I can say without any doubt what so ever you are NOT FAT .Clearly you have some curves in all the right places as someone else statedAnd you are quite curvy.Very pretty figure in fact

I might mention a latin figure , I would mention your actual measurements because if you have a 22-25 inch waist it is impossible for you to be precived as fat and it would appear you fit right in that area.Remember that guys , sorry guys, are very careful in their selection and can be quite the pessimist.SO they interput toward the negative.They are thinking the worst hoping for the best and assuming everyone is full of $hit.It's like when you search for a new home and they mention the home is adorable, or cozy we assume it means small.Be careful not to step on your own foot.Sometimes less is more say little, leave mystery and show your pics because you are beautiful Good luck ,Kendall

I don't know the answer but your kind of curvy is sexy and it was nice to have a visual aid!

I have described myself as curvy at times. I'm 5'3" and 118 lbs.  I have natural 36Cs and I've got hips but I'm not fat.  When I think of curvy, I think of sexy curves.  I need to be careful when describing myself as curvy now that I see it could be taken in the wrong way.

In my experience, most of the time girls use that word it implies that they're bigger than average. I like curves on a slimmer body (like yours), but alarm bells go off when I see a girl say she is curvy.

Now if the pics conceal more than "curvy" or the pics are old than I have a problem. Combined with reviews, written by experienced hobbyist, I usually have a good idea of the lady I'll be meeting.

While everything is subject to interpretation, neither the OP or becca are fat.  The best description I've seen of a not skinny/not fat provider was "womanly curvy but not BBW".

For me voluptuous means big boobs, big hips, but not fat...BBW, Ruebensque, large, and heavy speak for themselves.  

Curvy is tough because it leaves things up to interpretation.

When I see curvy, my brain processes FAT, and I don't look to confirm or deny that assumption.  I'm certain this will piss off someone, but that's what happens.  Other guys react differently, and that's cool, but if you write curvy, you may as well write super fucking ginormous if you're marketing to me.

To give it a little background, a provider friend still remarks that every time she sees pictures of the starving kids in Africa (you know, the ones with the flies around them) she thinks that I'm getting horny.  Don't blame me, I'm just the messenger.

I can only wish that providers that advertise themselves as "curvy" had bodies like yours.

I would have to say that the fat broads have taken over the term curvy, and that there is a negative connotation that goes along with the word, not because guys like me don't like "your" body type, but because every fat broad in the business describes herself as "curvy". Some of these women are about as curvy as a beachball, but that doesn't seem to stop them.

No offense to the fat broads, but if you are fat, just go with it. We are going to find out sooner or later, and I am the type to walk in an instant if a woman is thirty lbs heavier than depicted, and don't even think about a "cancellation fee", I won't leave a single red cent.

Looking at Vanica, she's beautiful; and she IS curvy in a Marilyn Monroe classically female sort of way. A really wonderful shape.

We've established that, for all practical purposes, the word "curvy" has essentially taken on the meaning of "BBW" -- which is really unfortunate.

So, now, to describe Vanica's body type ... what words suffice? What works?

What words serve to describe a classic female hourglass shape without conveying either the impression of a size 0-2 or a BBW?

I am right now a size 6 (US). But I have a unique body type.

I work out and run a lot so I have larger thighs - so large in fact I have to alter every pair of pants and shirt because nothing will fit just right. I also have slightly larger and muscular arms, but not too much... Women don't bulk up unless they are on the "juice". I will never do that.

So I think you found it - "Hourglass".

Maybe I just need to take a post a lot of pictures... lol

I think the best description for your body type is simply "perfection".

You have the perfect balance between toned muscle, and slender body type without the boniness and straight lines that I do not find at all flattering or attractive. In short you are perfect! No matter how you describe yourself, you pics speak for you.

I tend to think overweight.

Some gals are definitely curvy and not overweight. How about "slender but curvy"?

Maybe zaftig? Ruebenesque?

I would still really consider you curvy.  The hourglass is a very curvy shape.  The lumpy women (nothing wrong with it if they admit it) aren't curvy...they are lumpy.  False advertising is not fun.

Curvy implies heavier than I am interested in. You may consider dropping the term and showing more of your photos in ads.

why not put Oprah lookalike and not bother with pictures VERY SUCCINCT
