A question of protocol

Had a weird experience and thought I would share. Had an outcall with a provider the other week where she left a small bag of personal items at my place. Called to tell her and she said she would come by to pick it up. I asked her to call first before coming over. Well….she never called but showed up at my door unexpectedly. Said she was in the area. To say the least it got me to wondering. How should I handle a situation like this….This world is not that small how does one handle meeting providers unexpectedly? What if it is in the grocery store, do I acknowledge her and say hi? Curious as to the response from providers as well as hoobiests.

on whether youre alone or not  DUH!

if youre with your SO or wife at the grocery store obviously you wouldnt wanna acknowledge knowing her

Or she could be with HER SO, or father, mother, brother, etc. It's not just bad news from the hobbyist's side.

I'd be going to her incall or not seeing her at all.  As for a chance run-in, the protocol is to ignore each other or, at most, to smile and nod the way you would to any stranger whose eyes met yours.  Then contact her later,if you want to, and joke about it.

you do not know the person, you only know the fantasy that person provided you with; real life and fantasy are two separate things; keep them separate.  I imagine there can be exceptions like with everything else in life, let's say that you have developed a truly personal relationship and you actually know the person and is agreed upon or clearly implicit in the relationship that casual contact like that can happen, then yes; otherwise just go about your business and do not make it awkward or uncomfortable. Respect her right for privacy, you would want the same for you

She really should have called even if it was from nearby.

If you see a provider in public, you should not aknowledge her nor she you.  Neither of you knows the other's private life & if friends & family might be nearby.   If you should pass, a slight nod of the head as you would to an amiable stranger...  you can make brief eye contact...   This is a secret world...  best to keep total separation.
You may save your thoughts & comments to share together the next time you are alone.

I have never invited a provider to my home.  But would I in the future? Of course. It would depend on the circumstances, and how well I knew her.

The topic of running into a provider in public comes up on the boards often. The general concensus is that you share a polite nod like you would with a stranger. You might be with a SO, or someone else. She maybe be with an SO, or another client or family member. I remeber reading a post from a provider who was at the aiport with her father, when some client came up and said, "Hey Suzy, how are you?" Of course she was horrified, but somehow got by by saying something like, "You are mistaking me for someone else." The guy got the hint. Her dad was convinced it was just some mistake, but imagine the kinds of things that could have happened! Of course the name the guy called her, was not her real name, so it was easier to pass that off. It definitely depends on the situation, but it is normally best to act like you don't know each other.

Now the lady showing up at your house unnanounced is a totally different situation and in very poor taste! How would she know what time it was okay to come by? Or who else may be home? Or who might be visiting you? Or if you have family, or SO, or nosy neighbors. Imagine a wife opening the door, "Hi, I came to pick up a little bag of personal stuff I left here, when I was fucking your husband!"

This is just as bad as a client showing up at an incall unannounced.

The only exception is if you are single, live alone, and told her "stop by anytime" which is of course not the case, since you did say you told her to call first.

She must have taken lessons from George Costanza.

My guess is that she is keen on you.  Keep us posted.

Those were not accidents.
