A PSA on ED

I have had a problem with ED (mostly Orgasm disfunction), and I thought it would be helpful to tell interested parties on what factors and treatments have been at play for me .  I have had some success, and maybe my experience will help others.

I am 58 years old.  My sex life with my spouse has been so sporadic, that I didn't really notice my problem too much.  I hit a brick wall when I started hobbying last March, and in my first 11 sessions, I only had 1 orgasm brought on by the provider, and 2 other orgasms that I brought on myself through manual stimulation.  I had some erection problems as well, in that I could not maintain a sufficient level of hardness for intercourse for more than a few minutes on some occasions  I was panicking huge, because here  I was with beautiful women and the opportunity to have a great time, and I was incapable.

I started using Cialis so I could at least get hard, but it made the orgasm problems worse, and I felt like crap when I used it.  I did some reading and found that Propecia (finesteride) was causing ED in even young men, and even worse, the symptoms didn't disappear when use was stopped.  Now I was really panicking.

I stopped using Propecia.  I went to the doctor and got a physical.  I did more reading about nutrition, and I lost 20  lbs.  I wasn't in bad shape, but I had packed on some weight over the previous 4 months because of work, and needed to get down to my healthy level of 185lbs.  I am 5'11.

My lab results came back normal on everything, but I was still suffering the symptoms.   I started eating a lot of raw celery and cauliflower, and cut down on meat, especially red meat.  I quit drinking wine the days I wanted to have sex, and would limit myself to 1 beer before a session.  I started taking Vitamin A and C, Zinc, and started using Ginseng supplements.

I cut down huge on my porn use.  I read a report on an Italian study that correlated ED in 20year olds to heavy use of video porn, and I was definitely in the heavy use category.

The results are that I am now able to have orgasms in a session, and the ED is gone.  I am not fully recovered to the point I can do MSOG, but I feel progress in this space, and think I will get there if I stay on my nutrition and exercise program.

I have been using Horny Goat Weed supplement for a couple of weeks now, and this has increased my libido and sensitivity.  I have not used Cialis in the last five weeks, and am not having problems in the session.  I am not a 20 something in capability by any means, but I feel like I have made a huge turn for the better since June, when the regimen I started following in April started producing results.

From my readings, there are a lot of reasons for ED, so my results may not apply to you.  But nothing I have done was expensive, and it just took an investment of time in my health for the most part.  I hope you never have these problems, and if you do, maybe this will be a solution for you too.

Peace, and happy sexing....

Thanks for the PSA! Eating healthy and cutting down on red meat is a great idea for anyone. And I agree that too much porn can be addictive, and like an addictive drug, you need more and more of it to become stimulated. I think a proper balance is needed.  Glad to hear of your success.  Keep UP the good work!

Here's a link which may help as well related to the Italian study you read:

For me it didn't work as advertised. I bought the horny goat weed at a CVS. When I was checking out the little old lady at the counter VERY audibly asked, "horny goat weed?! What is that for??!"

I mumbled under my breath, "To get my dick hard enough to shove down your throat".

..and all the other factors helped 5 percent. We have an entire planet of young men who are going to be nearly impotent by the time they are 40, due to excessive porn use due to the amount of material one can view via high speed internet.
