Friday, I got an email on my hobby email from a lady that I have never seen or given information to. I never even heard of her before. She claims to be new at this and one of her friends told her to contact me as I was a safe client that would review. She did not name this friend of hers in the email. This lady had my full name, and referenced my business.
I emailed her that cold contacting was not generally a good idea and let her know that her "friend" should not have given her my name and email information. I then tried to look her up and I couldn't find anything. The phone number was to an improperly registered Tracfone and did not Google. The email was registered to her working first name massages and also did not Google. The photos did not show up on Tineye. I could not find a darn thing on this lady.
She emailed me back today and asked if it was OK if she called me and listed my home phone number. Also mentioned a post I made on TER. This has got me a bit nervous as I have no idea who I am dealing with and who is supplying her with information. Only 20 people have my hobby email and it is not registered in my real name. What would you do if you got such an email?
I would have just asked her who the friend is instead of giving the lecture because that would only make her clam up instead of offering more information.
These days no one can afford to be too careful.
I did ask who her friend is but that information was not given in her reply. I am now checking with many who could have given out that information. No luck so far. It is scary to think someone know enough about me to cause me real issues yet I am clueless about who it is and how she got it.
as a "referance." For all you know this could be a scam, sting or set up. It is NOT OK that she has this personal information. She might have stolen another provider's computer but still there is information that another provider should not know.
This would be creaping me out, as it must be you. This is similar to a stalker issue... I would be watching my back every second until you get this figured out.
DANGER, DANGER, DANGER!!!

There is a handful of providers who know a great deal about me as they are friends of the family. I just can't see any of them sharing what they know as I have just as much on them if not more and it is not in their character to out a friend like this. They also would not hand out my home phone number if they did tell her to contact me. I am preparing for the worse.
I'm new to this, so take this with a grain of salt. As with any referral, I would ask her which friend referred her to you. Verify with that provider. Clarify with that provider that this is not an acceptable way to refer new clients. If all of that checks out, its up to you. If, on the other hand, the provider has no idea what you're talking about, its time to reset and get a new phone, email, etc.
A while ago some local girl with a less than stellar reputation was emailing men off another review site. On this site the men who review can have their hobby email shown so others can email them.
This gal was systematically going through all the reviews saying similar things to the men 'a friend said to contact you' or 'if you like XXXX you'll love me.'
The women who were reviewed had no idea this was going on.
I figured it out only because several men from a city that I tour half way across the country contacted me asking if I knew XXXX because I was the only girl they knew from my city and state.
We realized where she was getting their emails. She was so dumb she didn't bother to see that 90% of my reviews on that site where from across the country and they couldn't come see her at her local incall.
Just a possibility.
While I have memberships other review sites I have not posted a review on any of them yet as I don't like them as much. I also check and they don't have my currant hobby email just the mostly retired one as it was in the possession of a lady that got busted as few months back. Plus she refers to a post on TER I made a while back so she knows my TER handle. One last thing on those other site I have my profile set on privet. Someone is feeding her information or is pretending to be this lady. It has me nervous.
Regardless how she got the info, she's got it now and I'd be expecting the worst at this point if I were you.
Hell, it could be the boyfriend of a provider who just found out what she's doing and found her client database. Whoever it is seems to be laying the groundwork for blackmail, imo.
I an expecting the worse at this point. Someone has enough information to blackmail me and I don't know who it is. The only thing this person may be lacking is prof. But I am not a good target for blackmail as everyone who I care about already knows I hobby and I have more than one lawyer on retainer. I also have friends in the police force. I would out myself and get my revenge by working with LE to bust a blackmailer. I hope it does not come to that.
You make an excellent point. who are they going to out you to?
I am in a similar situation, I am not married to a provider, I am not married at all, virtually all my clients know, all of my friends, I think all of my employess, even my mother knows what I do. So what is anyone going to threaten me, or you with?
It would be funny. Things did not end well for the last person to try to out me. Yes, there are those that don't know that I hobby and I hope to keep it that way. Yet it wouldn't be a disaster if they found out. I guarantee it would end much worse for anyone who tries to blackmail me than it would be for me if I was outed.
What could possible come from this! Personally I would hit Delete key and never look back.

Give her some love. She is obviously new and perhaps a scared little pup. Love her. Love her always.
I don't see anyone that I can't verify as legit. The photos were very hot. Maybe if she lets me know who referred her so I could check to make sure she is legit, I would think of giving her some paid love. But as thing stand I don't know her intentions and someone in giving my information out behind my back. Both things make me nervous.
Do any of your friends know you hobby? Some men will tell their wives or SO stuff that is for their ears only that gets the ball rolling. How would she get your home phone unless she knows way to much info than I would ever give out? Check the inner circle its probably there. Now your getting nrevous everytime the phone rings. I am thinking that ignore at all cost is your best course of action.
Most of my wifes friends that are providers or strippers know and a few of them know my TER handle and my hobby email. One of them could be the leak. They should all know better but maybe it is a joke at my expense. I hate not knowing. This not knowing is worse than when my cousin was trying to out me. That attempt cost him his job at the police department vice unit. If he had my hobby email I would think it was him trying to cause trouble again.
time for a change of email, phone and a break for the hobby.
I have no plans to start up again in the near future while I have a foster child living under my roof. She should be with us for 4 to 6 more months. If I can not find the source of this leak I will retire my hobby email and get a new one when I resume.
It would be very difficult to get a new home phone number as it is the phone number for all of my household bills and many others. It was not my hobby phone number listed on my email. She also knew about my business so she could just get my business phone number and email to keep in unwanted contact. I can't change those without losing thousands of dollars. I rather be blackmailed. Much cheaper in the long run as I will just sick my lawyers and maybe LE at the blackmailers. They can out me if they want.
