but seriously folks...

There are many ways to get busted.  I got busted twice, and both were highly avoidable, my spouse was not even suspicious, at least the first time.

The first time, the hotel sent a bill to my home with phone calls and numbers made by the provider to her home.  (Pre-cell phone days.)  I checked after that to make sure that the hotel doesn't do that any more.

The second time, I parked my big fire engine red Buick right out on Main Street to save on parking in the garage.  That was a big mistake.  The wife saw it, went up to the desk and showed enough ID to convince the clerk she was my wife and she got the room number.  I'll leave the ensuing nightmare scene to you imagination.

Mr. Fisher I am not laughing at you ... I am laughing  with you as I am sure you look back at that  mistake and now laugh at it .

You seem to be a very smart cookie unlike back then parking   the Buick on main street huh ? ;)

Thank you for the giggles

But now I'm a sadder Budweiser boy.

(You may all groan now. 8o)

And people on this site take advice from you?  J/K!!!  Thanks for sharing this, as well as your other many contributions.  I guess there's no substitute for "having lived it".  And the old adage, "what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger (and smarter)" must be true.

Mr. Fisher-

It certainly sounds like you've had some insane experiences... I certainly wouldn't have wanted to be the girl in that experience or you. Ouch.

It looks like you made it out alive, though...

I've had one near catch- notes I had been keeping on MS word about providers and phone numbers, I hit print instead of save icon at the top of the program without realizing and wife found it on the printer.  Lesson learned- I don't store anything on the home computer!

What I worry about the most though is three things:

1)  talking in my sleep
2) leaving something out on the counter in my pre-visit preparation before leaving the house
3) the lingo that I am picking up on TER slipping out of my mouth as it becomes more familiar and automatic!

Once I booked a room somewhere I wasn't supposed to be...and used my Hotel Honors Card by habit...luckily I travel enough that it wasn't noticed but man it was right there in black and white on the statement that month :(
