My latest review was rejected because the TER reviewer removed the website because the ad was from Redbook. He said they don't accept Redbook ads. I guess I didn't know this.
Was this generally known in the community?
I guess they are competitors but I thought as long as it was a legal website with a reasonable ad it was ok...they ought to be able to exist together.
It seems that TER is saying to providers that have ads on REDBOOK that they won't allow them to be reviewed. What if this concept spreads to other "adult malls" like cityvibe etc? This is not a good thing!
Any chance there's another reason it was rejected? Redbook has traditionally been the best Bay Area source of info and leads. The best by far. It would be a real shame if there was a TER/Redbook war. Hell, it's obvious when you read the SF boards, that TER really hasn't caught on up there yet.
I asked why the review was rejected and they said they don't accept redbook ads. I looked for this comment in their rules for reviews and all it says is that they have the ultimate say over what they allow.
I agree with you that redbook has a lot of listings, but I like the format of TER better. I think there is no reason that the two can't co-exist. Redbook is just like any other "adult-mall" and they allow most if not all of them.
We have all heard the story of the guy who goes to the provider "only to talk" Has anyone actually done this? Please - this is the one time that an alias would probably be appreciated and protect us all!! lol
Reason for asking - someone told me this... and I am now wondering - if it happens and if so - to what frequency.... Curious! really want to know!
on at least two occasions when visiting providers (both of whom I knew very well and had seen for years) they were so upset by situations in their lives that they just wanted to talk to me and not engage in any erotic activities, which I went along with out of my feelings for them.
In one case I paid the person her usual fee, in the other case I did not. Can't really recall why in either case.
I still know both very well, although one has moved from the area.
cityvibe, eros, etc... it's as stupid as asking why "TBD" did not allow your review, because you linked to the provider's Ad which was posted on TER's regional baord! Helllooo!? Link shoudl be either provider's personal webpage or her AD on a escort mall! (which does not post reviews)
I never heard that you couldn't link to another review site although I fully understand that some might feel that you'd be helping a competitor. I don't feel that way. However, I believe you should get a clue ..and maybe a few iq points! Try spinach.
i'm sorry to drag up an old thread, but i'm new round here and i think a recent question may have been ignored for this reason. i guess i'll get flamed for this, but it seems to me that since some sites have listings/malls AND reviews and TER is devoted to reviews, it really shouldn't be a conflict or competitive question to link to a listing there. For a lot of people, putting up a web site can still be a little intimidating or scary and they might not be willing to do it multiple times if they think they have a good listing somewhere. Just my 1.5 cents worth.
