I've lost both my parents in the last few years. I can't imagine it's ever easy for anyone who's had a decent relationship with his Mom and Dad. But, we're meant to survive. Hang in there, OK?
I'll be sending good thoughts your way. My mother died three years ago and it's been pretty hard. There are still times when something will jog the old emotional memory and my eyes will sting. It gets better, though.
Shakespeare: Everyone is the master of grief except he that has it.
My parents are still living and I can't imagine the pain you are going through but I can offer prayers and that I always believe that those who leave us are truly with us in spirit. God Bless.
Both my parents are still living, and in good health, but my wife of 25 yrs. passed away in June 2005. We all grieve differently, but for me, it took a week or two for the reality to hit, and I hit the bottom after about another 2 months. I don't know which is worse, the hole blown in my chest the size of a basketball, or all those little reminders of her being gone that send chills down my spine. It's been almost 2 yrs. now, and the pain and emptiness has diminished dramatically, but it's still there. Don't be surprised if you find yourself operating slightly out of character for awhile, it certainly scrambled my mind to some degree. It does get better though, and as you learn to deal with yourself, you'll likely discover inner strength you didn't know you had. Take care of yourself, it's how your Dad would want it. P.S. If you feel up to it, post this over on 'The Erotic Highway' board. The Mod over there, The Love Goddess is an exceptionally skilled therapist, and the regulars are pretty good as well.
