Why would you ask a working girl this question?!

I've always wondered why, once in a while, a client asks me " Aren't you scared doing what you do?"

Well, you know, when someone ASKS me that, that makes me wonder just a little bit more if I have something to be afraid of from HIM. As a client, every client in that sense could be a potential 'danger' regardless of referrals and date checks. Why would you ask that question if you were a client and therefore putting yourself within the possible category of BEING a danger as a client to the girl?

My other favorite question of the day:

" How many men do you see?"

My response is, well, since there's no turnstyle there at the foot of my bed or a welcome mat ON my bed, it's a lot less than you think.

Why would anyone WANT to know, " Yes, you're 47th person of the day."

Curiosity is human nature. It is no big deal.

The truth is, us guys (or at least I have) get asked these same sort of questions by providers all the time. Some questions I have fielded:

How did you get into this?
What did you tell your coworkers you are doing?
What are other girls like?
Do other girls do xyz?

and so on.

I think some providers go overboard with their "no questions" privacy policy. If he doesn't care how many guys you've seen, why do YOU care so much?

If you don't want to answer, politely say so, but why this "OMG!!! Can you believe someone asked me this???" It's not some inquisition, just human curiosity.

Honestly, I think the girls who hate these questions hate them because they hate the answers they would give. They prefer to be in self-denial, so it irks them when it gets brought up.

I wonder what they think of themselves, associating with a woman using herself in an assembly line process, down-trodden, afraid, dealing with the dregs of society.  who ELSE would use this service? right? deviants, degenerates.

Here is the one I hate:

"Do the hotels give you 'problems' when you visit?"
or something to that affect.
!!
The answer is 'no'.  I look like a normal person. I accentuate the decor of nifty hotels as I pass thru the lobby.
Valets love me becuz I tip generously.
Hotels cater to people visiting.  That is why it exists as a business.

Now why do these men think any hotel would not want me to be there? Becuz in their mind I'm some scourge of society.  Trolling around hotel lobbies propositioning men, wearing my thong and 6" plastic stripper heels?

It makes me feel so disappointed and insulted and am turned off completely when I hear Q's like these.

You're reading to much into it. Men are very simple creatures. We're with a beauitful woman who is about to please our dick. Our brain disconnects and we have know idea what we are saying! I'm not excusing the behavior, simply explaining it.

Of course the guys who ask that question are the ones who call you from the lobby and then leer there waiting for the call back...how obvious is that...a guy standing there will cell phone in one hand and hardon in the other...he gets the call...and then bolts to the elevator.  Now THOSE are the guys that draw attention!

I've been asked by a few providers during our conversations: "How did you get into this?"....I don't really mind if a lady asks me that question..

However, I do agree with you, that asking a lady questions like: "How many men do you see?" or "Aren't you scared doing what you do?" are questions only a "dipshit" would ask...Good way to ruin the mood of any session with a lady..

That, and taxi cab driver. Talk about no 'screening process'. Think about it.

Personal questions best left unasked. As far as asking if you’re scared doing what you do: anyone even remotely attached to reality understands there are risks to your line of work.

Given one theme of men who abuse women is they get off on knowing they’re inflicting fear, I can see how this question could feel creepy; especially when alone, behind closed doors.

But when a man asks you this, in a paradoxical way, perhaps, it could be interpreted as evidence of his ability to empathize with some of the personal risk you take……

combined with not censoring what’s in his head before it comes out of his mouth---which we’re all guilty of now and again…lol…

Some of you ladies need to get over yourself. I have had several providers tell me stories about Hotels (nice ones) giving them issues. Without me even asking.

It has nothing to do with looking down on you.

Yes, to me it's important to consider that a man might be trying to empathise with me. Especially newbies who are in a state of disbelief anyway, and feel like they need to pinch themselves!

I think men have been taught that women consider men dangerous. For the well-intended men, who can't wrap their mind around how you could seem so relaxed with them, the question just comes flying out of their mouth - unedited as you say.

We all, on both sides of the aisle, need to be thoughtful about what we say. Mostly, these two questions are "newbie" questions, IMO. I like to say, "Yes, I do worry about my safety, and that's why I check references so carefully." and b) "I consider every date as a unique sensual experience. I prefer to be a low-volume provider." If the gentleman presses me for specifics, I have learned to be evasive, saying that I feel fortunate to be able to pay my bills during these difficult economic times. If he continues to want more info, he is dense and/or intrusive and I tell him pointedly that I don't share those kind of specifics with my clients.

Never asked that question, but this can be a dangerous business. Those guys are probably just showing concern for your safety (from other guys) in a bumbling way.

When I meet a sweet young provider I like I always want to tell her "be careful out there. There's a bunch of weirdos out there who like to prey on providers."

Totally agreed! AlluringEva is reading way too much into this and has started to show adverse reactions to these empathetic "chit-chat" conversation points. Time to take a break, perhaps?.

Presence on the boards can get overwhelming to some.  Before you know it, you've said too much.

The only reason to ask her that is to ascertain if she makes more $ than you do, LOL

If you figure 600/year average on your own, you don't have to ask her ;)

Yes and no. It all depends on your perspective. There are a lot of very intelligent and "worldly" (in terms of the hobby world) posters in here, whose opinions are very invigorating (at least to me). Therefore, my presence on the board is not (currently) overwhelming to me. However, it is plenty apparent that some posters clearly get to wrapped up in every little detail and over-analyze things to ad nauseam!

I think most questions are innocent. That said, I don't like to pry so even though providers ask me questions such as, "How often do you see providers?", "Are you going to get married again," I never ask them back.

I don't even know if my ex was a virgin when we met 30 years ago.

I strongly disagree with you about being in denial. First of all, perhaps there are some girls who may be in denial, but that seems like putting the blame on them. What about the men who ask such stupid questions? Isn't it a reflection of THEIR OWN denial in some ways of being a customer and NOT wanting to really hear they're the 5th guy of the day, or that yes, because they're a client, they ARE in some ways putting the girl at risk LIKE EVERY OTHER CLIENT OUT THERE?

And yes, providers ask questions too. I never said they didn't. My statement was that when men ask these questions, do they even think before they do or consider that they are PART of the equation? I don't think you would really WANT to know how many men she sees or whether she's scared of them, do you?

I wouldn't want to know.

Or, " Aren't you scared you might get robbed by my pimp?" For example.

A working girl goes and makes a comment about a few of the annoying things she hears and it's time for 'us' to take a break. I wonder if the same thing would be said to a doctor or lawyer who might say he was tired of patients complaining about the same things. I doubt whether he hears his nurse and patients say, " Time to take a break Doc."

" Adverse reactions"

Jeez, a provider can't say what's on her mind once in a while LOL?

Yes, it can be dangerous. But, at the same time, do the men really WANT to know the answers to the questions they ask? I understand the concern but really, a question like " How many men do you see" isn't necessary. I would never ask a man 'how many times did you bang your SO today."
