Gut feelings on the Scott Peterson Trial. What do you think . . .did he or didn't he

I don't have a good idea either way, it seems like the prosecution has a tough case to prove beyond reasonable doubt.

where the main suspect was incarcerated until he died in jail and then was proven innocent, I wouldn't place a 10 dollar bet either way that Scott is guilty or innocent.  I'm just glad he has competent council now and can at least make the prosecution prove it's case.

I don't think it is going to be that hard of a case for the prosecution.  I also bet you'll find she was killed in thier home
which will make it tougher for the defense.

they should fry his ass.

Anyone who kills their spouse first off. (No matter what is going on, get a freakin' divorce.) And second, on Christmas Eve and third she was going to have their child.

Everything points to this man....let me guess you think OJ was innocent too.

he did it.  Scotty P. is toast.
Let me see, she was killed on 12/22 or 23.  His neighbor saw him loading something wrapped in a tarp onto his boat on 12/24.  He went "sturgeon fishing" that morning in an area near where the bodies washed ashore.  He sold her car and put the house up for sale within a month (or so) after her dissapearance.
Too bad no death penalty in the state of Californication.

You don't think a young preganant woman talked to anybody in her family or anybody else over the phone in two days?  I would think that if he killed her before the early morning of the 24th that it had to be done late the night of the 23rd.  I'm sure it will be an interesting trial.  I'd like to hear what that girl he was doing on the side has to say.  And in the preliminary hearing no doubt the prosecution will have to really lay out the timeline of events, the way they did in the OJ trial.  That's what's cool about the preliminary hearing - you get to see a lot of evidence in a relatively short time period, without having to sit and watch endless days of TV coverage.

I've been looking around but haven't been able to find anything. I heard a newsblurb that quoted her as saying that Scott had told her he was a widower, but that's unsubtantiated as of yet.

This one will be interesting, gonna be really difficult to prove cause of death.

There is a presumption in this country that a person is innocent till proven guilty.

I know people like you would just love to dispense with little pleasantries like the Constitution and just shoot Scott now and be done with it.

Like OJ every thing the prosecution has is circumstantial. In situations like this it all boils down to which attorney is the better bull shitter.  Because bull shit is what will convince the jury one way or the other.

I predict that he will ultimatly be aquitted. I believe he did it but I don't believe the prosecution will be able to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt. Especially with a hired gun like Garregos representing him.

You know the 'girlfriend' didn't even know he was married
until after the wife dissapeared.  They are no longer together.
I would suspect that she is cooperating and telling all that
she knows.

OK my gut feeling is he's guilty, but that's for a jury to decide.

My HOPE is that the following DOESN'T  happen:  (1) The jury has some freaking sense & will actually consider the evidence & will take more time than one would spend on a coffee break to return a verdict (unlike in the OJ trial) (2) It doesn't become a media circus (unlike the OJ trial..& I sorta feel this is beyond hope) (3)  The judge actually conducts a damn trial the way it should be conducted (unlike the OJ trial...BTW Ito was subseqeently "demoted") (4) We aren't subjected to testimony by a permanent 'house guest' (unlike the Oj trial) like Kato Kalin, or however that dickhead spelled his name (5) A defense attorney that makes rhymes as 'evidence' in his closing arguments 6)  We aren't forced to hear about the private lives or sexuality of any of the attorneys (unlike the OJ trial..did ANYONE care about Marcia Clark?)

But we can always hope that if Peterson is set free that he can join OJ of the golf course in Florida & maybe between the two of them they can at least find the 'real' killers.

The whole story about how he was out fishing on Christmas Eve, while his 8 month pregnant wife was home cooking Christmas Dinner did it for me.

I hear stories of guys trying to make up elaborate back stories to explain their being away from the house for an hour and a half on the weekend to go see a provider, and this guy expects us to believe that his "about to give birth" wife was cool with him going fishing on Christmas Eve while she cooked up an elaborate dinner for him. Oh yeah, and he had recent told her he was having an affair with some chick in Fresno and they were working it out...

Sounds like a winning story to me. Any real guy tried that and he would have the imprint of a frying pan on the side of his head.

Peterson is going down. The fact that he retained Mark Geragos only makes me more convinced of his guilt.
