bump into one of the provider or hobbyist you met before in public?

what would you do if you are alone? with your friend? with family?

I usually pretty much ignore them and act like we don't know each other.

I dont know who he's with (even if they are not right there next to him, doesn't mean someone isn't close by) or who else he might know that is there.   So I act like we are total strangers and dont know each other.

What do you do if they are on their own, and if they say hi to you?

If you or her are with someone, the norm is to ignore each other.  Safer for both of you.  Hopefully, the other party will do same.  It is not something that happens all the time but it does happen.

...as Naomi said you never know who may be close by.

If you are the type that acknowledges strangers with a polite "hello," or a head nod, or smile, (or combination thereof), then do the same. If you are the type that ignores strangers, and walk past without even making eye contact, then do the same.

Can you make an exception if you are positive you are both alone. Perhaps, but how would you know you are both alone? Say you run into her in a deserted aisle in the supermarket, with no one else around. You try to make conversation just as her SO (or mother, or father, or brother, or child, or current client, or pastor, or...) comes around the corner to join her.

There was a post here last year from a provider who saw a client at the airport. He came up to her and tried to make conversation and called her by her provider name. She was at the airport with her Dad. She was upset about the indiscretion but luckily her Dad was hard of hearing and she passed the guy off as mistakingly identifying her for someone else. (It helped that he used her wrong name.)

including once when she and I would up at the same business meeting the day after we had met in very different circumstances.

The best tact is ignore--forget you have any idea who she is.

The only possible exception is if you know a lady well enough that you have crossed over into a level of real friendship and real knowledge; even then I always let her take the lead.  With those exceptional few ladies I know their real names and enough about their real lives that I can respond accordingly if a 3rd party shows up who know her or me.  If you don't know her real name, been to her home (not her in-call) or she to yours, this is not the path to go.

About a week after my very first meeting, my friend showed up in my emergency and had her mother and her child with her. I introduced myself, asked the others to step outside a moment, got my sample and was done. As I was heading out the door, I turned back and winked at her, she mouthed "thank you" and I let her family back in. I haven't seen her again yet so we haven't had a chance to talk about it and if I do see her again, I won't bring it up at all unless she does. I was sure blind sided when I walked into the room and saw her since I didn't know it was going to be her.

Do you think you might call her to talk about it?

I would never call her for that purpose. In fact, I would never bring it up at all in future conversations about dates. If she chooses to, that is fine but there isn't really anything to discuss. The reason she was there was unrelated to her business and no concern of mine beyond meeting her needs medically that night. I often see folks I know from real life. I don't call them later and discuss there issues either so no reason to do so here.

I bumped into a girl I knew who used to work at my firm.  She recognized me but thought I was a client from another bodyrub location in NYC.  I knew she looked familiar, but it wasn't from the bodyrub place.  When she started to talk, we both knew instantly we worked together, and she was mortified.  She never wanted to see me after that, but since the economy sucks, so many girls end up using different names in different places just to get more shifts and try to see more guys.  And I would often bump into her as her other names, which was a waste of time.

It got to the point where I just had to text her and say...gimme a list of all the places you work and what name you use, so I don't waste both of our time bumping into each other.

I also bumped into several providers in public on the subway, in the street, etc., over the years.  Most of the time, it's followed up with a quick text going, "I think I saw you," followed by an appointment.  :)

Carry on in public as any gentleman would. Don’t really understand why one is obliged to do anything? Why is this different than running across anyone you have met briefly?

If your social contact is limited to the hobby and strip clubs, I can see one would not know how to act in public. Others, who comes in contact with numerous men women in different social settings would not have any problem handling anyone they come across in any public venue.

That particular circumstance has never occured with me, amazingly enough.

But this one has, and I think it is even more touchy:

I was on an extended vacation on Nantucket with a provider when we passed a second provider we both knew.  So far so good but that second provider was someone who was a regular of mine, and the first provider I was with introduced us as part of a series of three way session we did for quite a while until the second one lured me away to see her independently.  We walked by each other without saying a word, but the air got as dense as molassis.

Now, that was a bit awkward.  Both gals tended to hold it against me that I saw the other.

As it turns out, I see neither of them now.

Oh well, it's a big ocean out there.

You both should err on the side of caution in that you or her have no idea who is around and to ask, "who is that?".

or something.  If you have seen her before & want to book, do so following normal proceedure.  If you share a laugh together in private, fine.  That's what I've done.

However at the time...  nothing...  pass as if you were strangers.  A smile or a nod of the head if that's your style (it is mine)...  but keep moving.  Neither of you knows who might be with the other...  either close by or within sight.  This is one of the unwritten rules.

If someone from this world intruded into my private life, they'd go onto my DNS list.  This hobby is all about being discreet...  and compromising the others security is NOT DISCREET.

I was out with a client/friend... he and I had crossed over to very good friends, plus we still P4P too but it was more like him helping me with $$  I guess

He had met my kids etc... bought them presents and stuff like that.

Well we went to walmart in my old town, which is a big city so....

And as we are checking out, my mother happened to be in the line with her friend.. ugh

now my mother thinks I am a massage therapist, but anyways it was very awkward, as I had to introduce him as she cam over to us and to not introduce would have caused more suspicions

omg I had to make it up to that friend after that!!! lol
