but even so, it seems like just about any person who passes me on the street soon starts sending me (Or more correctly, FB, LinkedIn, etc. start send me..) invites to friend them on these sites.

So, for those who do use social networks, there could indeed be a risk as you indicate.

Somewhere like TER I suppose, I would have no idea that they are even on FB, Twitter et al. as I don't belong to any social medias sites at all, nor do I have any intentions of doing so, EVER. So, just like mrfisher, it matters little to not at all to me.

... with the exception. That I won't even talk to myself.

The chances of LE swooping in on us while we are "doing the deed" are so small as to be statistically irrelevant.  The risk to her may be  significant, but unless they "flip" her and bust me in the act, it's her risk not mine.

Keep in mind I have been doing this for even longer than you, I also have my "real name" splashed all over the internet the same as you,  and none of this has cost me a moment of worry. Getting arrested would be annoying and inconvenient, but it would hardly be life altering, and after forty years of doing this I've never seen the inside of a jail cell or a courtroom, so I sleep just fine at night.

I don't post anything on social network sites, but if she posts things like her schedule then she's endangering me.  It's not cool if LE is reading her facebhook page, knows she's in town and goes after her when I go to see her.

as I replied above, why be blatantly stupid and expose people to unnecessary risks? If I get caught it's no big deal. It's just better if I don't.

I wouldn't talk to me either.

I don't Tweet, I'm not a Twit, and don't mix worlds.

LE is out there, and it's a fact of life.  The once-off bust is not what they are looking for.  They look for a ton of easy busts, set ups at hotels, etc. to maximize the profit potential for LE.

Just my thoughts....

Too easily traceable, too open and too... Vapid.

My social media for the hobby is TER!!!

And I like it that way

If the lady is tweeting under her real name, that is a problem. If she is tweeting under her working name, then what's the difference? If I follow or friend her, it won't be with my real name either.

I don't see why LE is any more of a problem on Twitter and FB as they are here. It is much easier for LE to find a lady posting an ad here on the regional board for their area than to search Twitter or FB to find ads for their area

I have a hobby twitter account and enjoy interacting with the ladies I follow. And very little, if any, of that interaction involves hobby-related stuff.  It's related to travel, restaurants, sports, pictures (not explicit).....just the day to day stuff that everyone posts on twitter.  For the ladies I've met it's a fun way to stay in touch. For those I haven't its a great way to get insights into their personality that I wouldn't get from an ad, website or blog. And I've ended up booking with ladies I've met through twitter simply because I loved their personalities.

And frankly I can't see how my twitter interactions leave me any more exposed to LE than TER.  If you guys think LE isn't monitoring the board posts you're fooling yourselves.

I'm sure you could try some of this blogging:
http://carasutra.co.uk/blog/

You could step it up a notch, and provide video reviews of your actual use.

Social networks survive by selling your info for targeted ads.

... and there are many of those, some of which have been mentioned above, but some might blow your mind.

Thus I stay away from "social media".  And I prefer to patronize providers who stay away from social media also, as least with their provider personas.
