Dear Ms. Moore:
Congratulations and good luck as you proceed to the next phase of your life and other entrepreneurial endeavors. I am sure that you will take the lessons and experience learned in the hobby and apply them to other areas of your life that you would deem relevant. You contributions, insight and editorials will be sorely missed by the participants on the board and in the hobby.  Also I know that you planned well and you where anticipating this day for quite a while. Godspeed to you young lady.

Effective immediately I am retired. My decision is based on a personal choice and I will not discuss it. Thank you to all of you, for your support and spirited debate. I wish you all the best.

I am only sorry we did not get to meet.  If you are ever in my neck of the woods, I'd love to hear from you .  I'll miss you on the boards as a voice of reason and wish you well in everything.  I only hope your reasons for retiring were positive ones and everything in your life is good.

it seems to me you announcing your retirement like you did and then saying you're not discussing it is really you screaming for someone like me to ask you what went wrong? Its certainly none of our business, but if you want to talk about it we're here. If not, and it's painful and too personal, you should at least talk to some close friends about it to get you the support you need. Of course I could be totally off base but I have a hunch. Regardless, I hope that you're ok.
